Chapter 181 The spirit body strikes

"It's still a day and a half away from the castle. We have to spend the night in the wild along the way."

"Isn't it just a battle? Those skeletons can't even leave scratches on the armor!"

"If you want to say that it's exciting, it has to be an orc. I think back then..."

A simple victory made the dwarves relax a little. This is their nature. If Snorri hadn't deliberately suppressed them, a celebration banquet would have been held.

"If it takes a day and a half, let's walk slower, find a village to camp for one night along the way, and we can reach the castle before the next night, right?" Snorri looked at the map and calculated.

"Then do it this way!"

In the early morning, the army set off again. Snorri looked back at the castle that looked very peaceful in the winter mist, and suddenly an ominous premonition came to his heart.

"Maybe it's because he didn't rest, okay?" Snorri shook his head and dismissed the thought in his mind.

"Master Snorri, I'm afraid those bastards who desecrated the dead have been discovered!" During lunch, several rangers acting as scouts came to report.

"What a big bat!" Bloxson sighed as he looked at the bat carried by the rangers that was about the same size as the torso of an adult dwarf.

"The ferocious bats in the eyes of vampires are like the precious falcons in the eyes of Bretonnian lords!" Stringer's advisor explained.

"What's expected!" Snorri muttered, "Maybe there's one as big as a dragon. Let the ballistae and long-range troops be ready for battle!" He turned around and ordered.

A large part of the reason why a simple war weapon like the ballista has remained in the dwarf combat sequence is that it can shoot at high elevation angles and is very effective against air units.

As the army continued to advance, almost all sharp-eyed dwarves noticed the big bats in the sky that were darker than midnight. They circled around the team. Although the sharpshooters shot down one or two from time to time, there were soon more in the woods.

New ones added.

In the afternoon, the dwarves arrived at the village on the map. The villagers had been gathered in the capital, leaving only empty buildings.

"Sure enough, the vampire judged that we were going to spend the night here!" Snorri sighed as he looked at the obviously damaged walls and the buildings with only ruins left. This is what marching looks like when the air superiority is completely lost.

"The cemetery has been desecrated and the well has been poisoned!" The ranger brought back two more pieces of bad news.

"Pass it on, don't touch the well, and don't touch the remaining food in the village. Repair the wall a little, and put the artillery in place!" Snorri gave instructions continuously. Along the way, he had already learned about commanding a force of this size.

Have some experience.

"Stringer, let's go to the cemetery and take a look! Others, rest in groups. I guess we won't have any sleep tonight, and we will continue our journey tomorrow."

Under the protection of the guards, the two rune blacksmiths came to the cemetery next to the village. The place was a mess, with lifted coffin boards and rolled tombstones everywhere.

"Anyone who disturbs the rest of the dead should be wiped out of the world without leaving a trace!" Seeing this scene, every dwarf was very angry. Who wants to be driven by enemies after death?

"Oh, look, it's just like what's recorded in the military books!" Snorri pointed to some tombs and said to Stringer. Along the way, he studied some of the experiences left by the ancestors of Karak-Zfulin in fighting vampires.

"Indeed, he did not summon all the bones, but left some of them to prepare to surprise us during the battle!" Stringer jumped into the tomb and took a look. He was happy to learn through these opportunities.

"Come on, the hearth and home runes, it can curb the occurrence of such sacrilegious rituals." Snorri rubbed his cheeks and started working. The sunshine on the surface combined with the cold wind in winter made his skin in poor condition.

.

"My nickname is Yimeidao Changde!" Snorri couldn't help but want to laugh when he saw himself drawing talisman (text) in the cemetery in disgrace.

The cemetery is not big, so the two of them worked together to quickly complete the carving of the runes. Snorri simply found a building with a roof to rest. As night fell, the number of bats in the sky increased.

"Cousin, here we come!" Balin woke up Snorri who was dozing off.

"Keep a little distance from me, my companion!" Snorri stood on the Anvil of Doom and reminded Stringer. He felt that the enemy might use flying troops to attack his commander.

Through the low wall, Snorri saw a group of skeletons and zombies emerging from the woods, slowly approaching the village.

"It's just the same old thing, using cannon fodder troops to consume our physical strength and ammunition! But we sons of the mountains are different from the cubs of men!" Captain Glenson tapped his breastplate.

Since the Dark Ages, the main opponents of the dwarves have been greenskins and ratmen, mainly goblins. They have thousands of years of experience in using defensive postures to deal with cannon fodder.

Snorri was also reassured that these thoughtless cannon fodder could not cause any harm to his men at all. They only needed to continue to wave their weapons lightly to defeat them.

After a brief contact, the vampire lurking in the forest had lost hundreds of summons, but the cost was still controllable for a trial.

"Ah! Ouch!" A shrill and strange cry suddenly sounded, and Snorri felt like he heard Helmgart's doomsday knell again. Although his own magic resistance was very high, Snorri still felt uncomfortable.

.

"Banshee? I thought it was a Horror Beast!" Snorri watched as the soul of a woman wearing a long dress, glowing green under the moonlight, floated quickly in the air in a weird and twisting posture.

.

"She is a spirit! This poor soul has almost no physical form. Except for magic and enchanted weapons, it is difficult for conventional weapons to cause harm to her." Stringer shouted, and the rune blacksmith picked up the

I got my newly arrived warhammer and was ready to go into battle.

"There are similar ones at sea, but the energy is weaker than hers, but they usually appear in piles!" Constantine also added, and Snorri knew that he was talking about the deep-sea sirens.

"There are more behind!" The warrior in front yelled with all his strength so that the sound could be heard from the banshee's scream.

"Cairn Binding Spirits! Gather the warriors with rune weapons in their hands!" Snorri shouted as he looked at a group of spirits holding scythes with two hands and fluttering cloaks behind them.

He suddenly felt that the vampire lord was slightly stronger than he had expected. These two spiritual undead creatures were not easy to find. Only those with strong souls in life could form after death.
