Chapter 32: Cavalry on March

Arriving at the west gate of Karaz-a-Karak, Snorri saw that a group of dwarves had gathered there. They were carrying various supplies to several carriages.

Seeing Snorri's figure, they all raised their heads to say hello. "Good morning, Master Snorri!"

"The Ancestor Goddess protects you, your respected goddess choice!"

Snorri returned the greeting while looking around, but he did not see the figure of Brother Gnom. "Where is my elder brother?" Snorri grabbed a servant and asked loudly,

"Well, Your Highness the Prince had something important to do last night. He might not have gotten up, but he should be on his way now!" After hearing this, Snorri shook his head. In his memory, his elder brother always emphasized the importance of punctuality to him when he was a child.

Sex comes.

After a while, all the dwarves recruited yesterday arrived, and Gnom also rushed over surrounded by the Hammer Guards.

"Have all the people been counted? Noel?" He asked the attendant with dark circles under his eyes.

"There are also the supplies purchased yesterday, oh, they have arrived too! Okay, let's set off!" With that, Brother Gnom walked in front of the team with the Hammer Warrior.

This team is composed of 80 iron-breaking warriors, 20 iron dragon gunners, 20 hammer guards from Gnom and 50 men from Snorri recruited yesterday. They lined up in a long snake formation and walked in the underground tunnel.

Move forward.

The team protected Snorri and several carriages full of supplies in the middle. The inner circle around Snorri was the Eternal Hammer, and the outer circle was the Anvil Guard, protecting him tightly.

The marching speed of the team was limited by the short legs of the dwarves, but it was better than the dwarfs because of their excellent endurance. They walked for a whole morning with almost no rest. When they sat down to eat lunch, Snorri knew that they had advanced fifteen years according to the signposts on the road.

kilometers.

Snorri sat down cross-legged. Although as a person who controlled rune magic, he did not wear heavy armor and did not carry much luggage. He only carried his own weapons in his hands, but the forced march all morning still made him a little bit overwhelmed.

.

Although his body has changed now, there is still a long way to go before he can adapt to the intensity of such a march. Taking the bread, dried meat and water handed over by Bahrain, Snorri chewed big mouthfuls. The severe physical exertion made him eat very much.

Fragrant.

Balin was also very tired. This was the first time for this civilian dwarf to participate in a forced march, not to mention that he also carried two large bags of luggage. Brother Genom simply arranged two sentries and then sat with them with food.
"This is the Silver Road Province. At the foot of the Eternal Peak, there is a team of Iron Breakers patrolling every day. It is very safe! If you really take risks outside, you don't dare to do this. Even if you want to eat, you have to have bread and weapons in one hand!"

Although Brother Genom seemed a little tired, the elite troops he had recruited and the upcoming victory made him extremely excited.

Snorri chewed the dry food in his mouth, feeling the pain in his lower limbs and said, "Brother, don't we have horses? Why not form a cavalry? Four legs are faster than two!"

"Shh! Keep your voice down!" Gnom took a sip of beer.

"Don't let the long-bearded elders hear it, or you will have to mumble again. According to the teachings of the ancestors and gods, we dwarves are not the sons of the mountains, but we should use our own legs to measure the earth."

"But..." Snorri was interrupted before he finished speaking.

"Of course, this is only one reason. On the other hand, we lack suitable mounts. With our legs, many strong people cannot mount them." The two brothers laughed out loud as they looked at their legs that they had struggled to cross.<

"The horse is right there. You can try to ride it. It won't be a big deal if you walk slowly. Once you start running, you will be knocked off your feet. Don't ask me how I know!" Genom bit out like he was venting his anger.

I took a big bite of dried meat.

"This is just a horse that pulls goods. It would be more troublesome to have a war horse. A little further away, that tall horse from Bretonnia with the pointed ears left behind, that would be really exciting!"

Snorri nodded. A large part of the reason why Bretonnia's cavalry is famous in the old world is that they have elven horses and mixed-blood elven horses left over from the elven colonial period. These horses have stronger endurance and speed.

"We haven't even had the chance to ride a gryphon, a gryphon or a half-gryphon? I heard from my father that there are bear riders in Kislev." Snorri wasn't going to give up yet.

"Why don't you think more about it? Go to the home of the pointy-eared thing and get yourself a giant dragon!" Gnom was amused.

"Look at how wide your back is when you do the splits! But," he remembered something and changed the subject.

"It's not like there's nothing we can ride. Blue sheep and war pigs can actually be used. Hahahaha. I want to laugh when I think of you, the goddess' choice, riding on the back of a pig!"

"Uh-huh, let's put the pigs away first and let's talk about blue sheep!" Snorri also felt that riding a pig was unsightly. If he really did this, his reputation as a pig-riding warrior would be spread even more than the Goddess' Choice.

Fast.

"Blue sheep, some rangers and shepherds can tame this thing for transportation, but there are many problems.

The first is that they cannot bear weight. Our heavily armored warriors cannot hold up the sheep if they ride on them. If they do not wear armor, they will suffer losses too easily! Although the pointed-eared things have not been used in recent years, their long-range firepower,

Archery is like rain. Without the protection of armor, you will become a hedgehog!"

Genom drank two more mouthfuls of water, and it was a bit burdensome to talk while chewing bread.

"The second one is that blue sheep are timid and easily frightened. Think about our main opponents. Many cavalrymen on the greenskin side ride on wolves and are naturally restrained. Rats are outnumbered, and the elite troops are still strong.

It can emit all kinds of flames, noises, poisonous gases, etc. Our soldiers are not afraid, but the sheep are afraid. If they are frightened and rush back, it will be very troublesome!"

"There were no lords who tried to form blue sheep cavalry in the past, but they were of little value and were gradually abolished.

If you really want it, there are a lot of blue sheep near Shanhu Castle. When you go back, I will arrange for the ranger to catch one for you and train it! You are the goddess's choice. It's hard to say anything to the long-bearded people who ride sheep instead. If it doesn't work, you can

Say the goddess asked you to ride it!" As they said that, the two brothers laughed evilly.

After having lunch and taking a short rest, the dwarves set out again. Gnom hoped to reach Karak-Vahn within today.

In the afternoon, Snorri sat in the carriage on the grounds that he needed to meditate to exercise his power of runes. The dwarves around him certainly had no objection to this.

By dinner time, the team had walked two-thirds of the way and sat down to rest again. When Bahrain complained about the boredom of the journey, a veteran suddenly made a silent gesture.

After a brief silence, he spoke: "I heard the sound of chopping with knives and axes not far away!"

"Let's go, half of you will follow me to take a look, and half of you will stay here to protect the supplies! Snorri, you..."

"I want to go too!"

Gnom nodded, picked up the warhammer and walked at the front.
