Chapter Fourteen: Reality and Awakening

The prison responsible for holding prisoners is located in a small town in the Land of Fire, about a hundred kilometers away from Konoha Village.

This distance is far for ordinary people, but for ninjas, it is enough to reach it with just the strength of their feet.

On the way to the town, Haruno Sakura couldn't help but said to Kakashi: "Kakashi-sensei, I think the person who is tasked this time seems to have done nothing wrong. Do we have to accept such a task?"

The ronin warriors and peasant leaders stood up to resist the landlord's high rent. From Haruno Sakura's point of view, this was obviously a just act.

Naruto was silent when he heard Sakura's question. Although he was still a teenager physically, his soul was that of an adult.

The heroes Sakura heard from oral stories may not be so popular in the real world.

If an ordinary person were to answer this question, there would be no need to modify his words. But Kakashi is a ninja who came out of the war years, and his words are cold and ruthless.

He stopped jumping around on the big tree and stood on a tree. The one eye that was not blocked by the forehead protector scanned the three people in the seventh team.

"Sakura, Sasuke and Naruto. You may not agree with what I'm going to say next." Kakashi said in a deep voice, "But this world is so cruel and ruthless."

"After a ninja accepts a mission, all he cares about is whether he can complete the mission and get the rewards he deserves."

"As for the content of the task itself, which is controversial, you can choose not to accept it."

"If you accept it, you must go all out to complete it. This is the way to survive as a ninja."

What Kakashi said is very realistic. The profession of ninja is not as beautiful as imagined. On the contrary, the profession of ninja is full of violence, blood, killing, conspiracy and betrayal.

This is also the 'truth' that Kakashi and other mentor jounin need to teach young ninjas. It will be of great benefit to let them recognize this fact early.

"Is...is that so?" Sakura's voice was a little weak.

Sasuke looked back at Sakura, then turned back to Kakashi and said, "Kakashi-sensei, we already know. Please take us to complete the mission."

Although Naruto was silent, he nodded in agreement.

The Land of Fire, Aomori Town.

After learning about the arrival of the ninjas from Konoha, the local officials sent by the daimyo (the title of the lord), the mayor of the town, and the largest landowner in the area all came out to greet them in person.

Although the Hidden Leaf Village does not directly rule the Fire Country, it has the status of a 'Top Emperor' within the Fire Country.

In addition, these 'ninjas' all master powerful ninjutsu, and each of them is as good as ten. These ordinary people really don't dare to neglect the ninjas from Konoha.

"Welcome, your distinguished Jonin." The speaker was the Daimyo's official stationed in the local area. He was well-informed and knew what Kakashi's dress represented.

Kakashi didn't pay much attention to these red tapes and said directly: "Please tell me the specific information of the mission in detail. We will start the pursuit immediately."

The official was used to the straightforward character of the ninjas, so he didn't waste any nonsense and said directly: "Ten months ago, a ronin samurai born in this town came back. He colluded with the untouchable leaders and defied the daimyo's land tax.

"

"With sharp weapons in hand, he killed and injured three people and fled into the forest to the south."

As he said this, the three members of Team 7 standing at the gate of the town smelled the smell of blood coming from afar.

Naruto thought, before these people came out, they might have massacred a group of so-called 'untouchables' in the town.

And those who were lucky enough to escape were hired with powerful ninjas to hunt them down.

Originally, Naruto felt aggrieved at the unfair treatment he received because of his title as the 'son of the demon fox'. But after leaving Konoha Village, and being stimulated by this scene, Naruto suddenly felt that he was actually quite lucky.

I have time traveled to the protagonist's body. Although my life is not good, I am not unable to survive.

If I traveled through time and became an ordinary person or a "pariah" among these people, would I be able to live safely until the age of turning on the Golden Finger?

"In the southern forest...are there any personal clothing or equipment used by these people?" Kakashi asked.

The official looked back at the mayor. The mayor hesitated for a moment, then went back to get a piece of blood-stained clothes.

"These are the clothes of one of the untouchables," the mayor said.

This is a prison uniform, indicating that the owner of the clothing has been tortured.

And when you look at the officials, mayors, landowners and others who are dressed in luxurious clothes and have bloated bodies, you can see how difficult the lives of the people here are.

What a hopeless world this is! They don’t even have the ability to resist.

In Naruto's previous life, when the oppression was at its peak, there were people like Chen Sheng and Wu Guang of Daze Township, Zhang Jiao of Taiping Road, Huang Chao in the late Tang Dynasty, and Li Zicheng, the king of Chuang, who stood up and rose up. But in this world, all resistance is empty talk!

Because this world has supernatural powers and humanoid killing weapons called "ninjas"! The nobles have a lot of money and hire these ninjas at high prices to kill all the opponents for them.

Just seeing the miserable conditions of ordinary people, something in Naruto's heart awakened!

This is a real, living world!

There are many ordinary people living outside the Hidden Leaf Village. Although their stories have not been mentioned, it does not mean that they do not exist!

If you keep this mentality, can you really survive to the end with your so-called 'protagonist' status?

"When people are killed, they will die. Even if it is me, even if I am the 'protagonist', I will die." Naruto thought in his heart.

He is not a god, he can bleed, get hurt... and he can also die!

Naruto's eyes became much darker. Although these thoughts were complicated, they were hidden deep in his mind one by one.

Compared to everyone in Team 7, Kakashi has long passed the age of compassion.

He has been on the battlefield since he was a child. He became a Jonin at the age of twelve and participated in the Third Ninja War. Up to now, he has killed more enemies with his own hands than Sasuke has ever seen.

So he doesn't care at all about those guys who have nothing to do with the mission.

"Psychic art!" Kakashi performed a ninjutsu, and as a puff of white smoke dissipated, a dog wearing clothes appeared in front of everyone.

"Kakashi, long time no see!" the dog in clothes said.

"Alas!!" A shocked expression appeared on Sakura's face. This dog can actually talk? What's more, what is the technique Kakashi-sensei used?

Psychic art! Naruto recognized the origin of this art at a glance. And this talking dog is a ninja dog and also Kakashi's psychic beast.
