Chapter 30 Rebuilding the Port

"Master! The shipyard is built! You can start building ships at any time."

Eugene, the slave in charge of shipbuilding, knelt in front of Linn and said,

"So fast?" Lin En, who was engrossed in writing a reply to Perthwin, continued to ask without raising his head.

"Where are the shipbuilding blueprints? Have you hired enough workers? Where's the lumber?"

"Here are the drawings," Eugene said, taking out a stack of drawings from his arms and handing them to Myrcella.

Lin En stopped writing and reached out to take the drawing and read it.

Eugene gave him the drawings of two types of ships, one is the offshore longship that the ironmen like very much, and the other is the cork ship that can withstand wind and waves in the sea.

If possible, Lin En would certainly be willing to build a big ship. There are two major forests in the Storm Land: the Royal Forest and the Rain Forest. The continent is rich in wood resources, and raw materials are extremely convenient.

Moreover, once the shipyard starts construction, it can bring about a series of effects, such as logging, transportation, and shipbuilding. These businesses will benefit.

"Where are the workers?" Linn asked,

"More than a hundred workers have been recruited, but none of them have construction experience. If we build high-sea warships, the construction speed cannot be guaranteed yet!"

"Don't be anxious, start the work first, and talk about it later if there are any problems!"

After Eugene left,

Linn continued to write a reply. Maester Perthwin's letter stated that Hay Hall had been captured and there was almost no fighting.

New grain harvested just before the rainy season was found in the castle. There was a lot of it. On the way back, he was still counting the population. However, measuring the land was too difficult and he could hardly complete it alone. He hoped that more people could be sent to support him.

,

"This fox! He is clearly showing off his merits and complaining!"

"It's just that we really can't do without him at the moment. At least the technology for cultivating ravens can only be mastered by these bachelors,"

"We must get rid of all the constraints of the school city. The school is only the first step. Next, we must develop our own communication technology, carrier pigeons and inns,"

Lin En thought more and more, and finally shook his head.

"This won't work. With the population and resources of Storm's End, these plans are almost impossible to implement!"

"So the next step is to fight!"

"The whole storm is coming!"

"With the resources of the entire Stormland, it is possible to carry out many plans!"

Lin En raised his head from these mundane things, his eyes twinkling.

Three days later, all the lords of the Stormland received the raven from Storm's End Castle. The content of the letter was simple and direct.

"Order! All vassals in the Stormlands must go to Storm's End before the New Year to swear allegiance to Duke Lyn. Those who fail to do so will be deemed to have rebelled and will be seized and executed!"

"Haha! Death for seizing the title! Why is he an illegitimate son? With his thousands of slaves?" There was a lot of ridicule in the hall of Yege City.

"My Lord Earl, this bastard is probably crazy. He thinks he can rule the Stormlands with the title of an empty duke and thousands of slaves,"

"We have pledged our allegiance to the Iron Throne. Until Prime Minister Tywin gives instructions, we should ignore that empty-headed duke!"

"By the way! Has the red viper from Dorne gone north?"

"Yes, sir, the prince has left Nightsong City for King's Landing this morning!"

After Linn's order was issued, he ignored it. He knew that few people would come to declare their allegiance, and he could even imagine how they would laugh at him.

This is just right. When the time passes, we will be fully prepared and no one will have an excuse to stop the "conquest of rebellion."

When all the land is returned to Storm's End, both the population problem and the resource problem can be easily solved.

Lin En finally found someone who could help him manage the city.

He posted a list to openly recruit officials, and within a few days more than 30 people were selected. Lin En personally assessed them one by one and arranged work.

It was discovered that one of the knights was actually the illegitimate son of the Clinton family of Eagle's Nest, Ronald Storm.

The Clinton family was originally a rich and powerful family, loyal vassals under the rule of Storm's End Castle and King's Landing. However, during Robert's Rebellion, Jon Clinton, Earl of Eagle's Nest, was appointed "King of Kings" by Mad King Aerys.

"Hand", commanded the king's army to attack Shitang Town, and defeated King Robert. Then the Mad King deprived him of his fiefdom and title, and exiled him!

Later, after Robert succeeded to the throne, Eagle's Nest was returned to the Clinton family, but in order to punish them for their loyalty to the Targaryen family, most of their fiefs were confiscated and they were demoted from lords to landed knights.

Ronald Storm has been wandering as a knight. He is unwilling to return to the small Eagle's Nest Castle to be despised by everyone. He wants to prove himself. When he heard that Linn defeated four hundred heavy-armed guards by himself,

When he regained Storm's End, he felt that this was his most important opportunity. As soon as he entered the city, he saw the announcement of recruiting officials. He signed up without hesitation and met Lin En.

Lin En looked at this Ronald with great interest. He was in his thirties and had a red beard. His face that should have been bold and bold always gave him a shy feeling for some reason!

Under Lin En's long gaze, he lowered his head in confusion.

"Your Majesty the Duke, I'm here to report to you on the situation at the port!"

"Well! Just tell me, I'm listening!"

Ronald cleared his throat and said: "Our port is too small. There are more and more residents in the city, and the requirements for the port are getting bigger and bigger. The current port can dock up to twenty ships every day, and there are many ships.

Once you arrive, you can only float on the sea and wait for the ship, and this won’t work in the long term!”

"And the lighthouse is old and has not been repaired for almost a hundred years!"

"Has it been so long?" Linn was startled,

Linn didn't care about the port at first. In fact, the location of Storm's End is not very suitable for building a large port. Apart from the windy season, there are often storms in Shipbreaker Bay at other times, and the sea currents are chaotic and the wind direction is uncertain, so the ships cannot

Would love to come over!

But the importance of a well-developed port to a city is self-evident.

Now that I have my hands free, I really should make a good plan to improve it.

"In that case, why not completely rebuild a bigger one! Even bigger than the one in King's Landing!"

"Sir, there aren't that many ships coming!" Ronald reminded quickly,

"It will happen sooner or later! Start planning this right away. Take away all the slaves in the castle who are weak. If there are not enough people, hire them from the city. Don't worry about money."

"Besides, I have a very good lighthouse design here! Come and get it in two days!"

After Ronald took the order and left, Linn got into his personal space,

As soon as he entered, Haiqinyan suddenly fell on his shoulder! It whinnied and kept rubbing its neck against Linn, and its increasingly powerful tail slapped his back!

That is to say, Lin En's body is so strong that someone else can shoot him vomiting blood in a short time!
