Chapter 8 For the Emperor

In less than half an hour, Guilliman and the Ultramarines retook the orbital defense system.

With Macragge, the Queen of Glory flagship, and the orbital defense system, the rebels on the ground no longer have the possibility of escaping.

All that's left is to clear out these traitors and the demons they summoned, and then capture Erebus.

After getting all the dynamics of the battlefield, the ultramarines on the ground also showed their extremely excellent combat scheduling capabilities, fighting steadily and jointly. They ensured that they always fought with superior forces, and then counter-divided and surrounded and annihilated the rebels, building up a huge army bit by bit.

The advantages.

Although it was the first time for the Ultramarines to encounter subspace enemies like demons, they quickly concluded their weaknesses after fighting. Compared to long-range weapons such as guns and explosives, demons were more easily restrained by melee weapons such as swords.

Soon, the Ultramarines regained control of the battlefield. They pushed the rebels and demons into despair little by little, and then combined their huge military power to lock them firmly in a valley.

The rest of the battle was a unilateral siege.

With the cooperation of orbital attacks, the soldiers expelled all the demons and eliminated all the traitors. The only regret was that no trace of Erebus was found until the end.

According to the accounts of the captured Word Bearers, Erebus may have entered the underground caves of Calth.

There are not only complex caves underground in Calth, but also a fully functional underground city. If Erebus really escapes, catching him will become a difficult and complicated task.

After weighing the pros and cons, Guilliman sent a company to conduct a search, temporarily abandoning larger-scale operations.

Now he has more important things to do, which is to recover after the war.

After this sneak attack, the Ultramarines suffered great losses. Most of the fleet was destroyed, with not a single one left. More than 50,000 Space Marines were killed!

This is a number that is enough to severely weaken any legion.

If the soldiers were not repairing on the ground in Calth and were lucky enough to avoid being buried in space with the fleet, this number of casualties would have been doubled.

Of course, the decisive factor was Luo Jia's sudden withdrawal. If the Word Bearers continued to attack, the outcome of the 200,000 Ultramarines here, including their original body Guilliman, might be unpredictable.

"To celebrate the victory, I decided to hold a victory parade!" Guilliman found Linn and said solemnly. Linn almost thought he heard wrongly.

"Victory? A military parade? Where did we win?" The fleet was almost completely destroyed, the planet basically lost its industrial capacity, more than 40% of the soldiers were killed, and most of the enemies fled, only a small part and some summoned demons were annihilated.

What kind of victory is this?

Guilliman waved his hand, "That's not important."

"The important thing is that I need this celebration to restore the morale of the soldiers!"

Lin En suddenly realized that this makes sense. The Ultramarines have suffered such heavy losses. The only warships that can leave here are Macragge and a few others. If all forces are concentrated on a few ships, if they encounter rebels, the consequences will be disaster.

sexual.

So for now, they can only stay in Calth and wait for other mobilized warships to come over. During this period, an exciting celebration is really needed.

"In addition to this, there is another more important reason." Guilliman looked at Linn with a sincere look and said:

"It's time for me to return your warriors to you."

Linn laughed, patted Guilliman on the shoulder and said, "Great! I was just thinking about thanking you for taking care of my soldiers, but I didn't expect you to mention it first. We are indeed brothers!"

Guilliman's shoulder was slapped loudly, causing pain. He could not help but bared his teeth and secretly thought that he had been taught a bad lesson by that barbarian Russ.

The original Lin En was quiet and delicate, which did not match the temperament of his group of welding soldiers. Unexpectedly, after being resurrected, he turned into a muscular man who could tear up battleships with his hands! I don't know if it was a mutation or a climate problem in Fenris.

I hope Sanguinius will not cause trouble to Russ after seeing him.

Guilliman shook his head and continued:

"I have been waiting for your arrival since the soldiers of the Eleventh Legion broke through Malcador's seal a few months ago and collectively restored their memories."

"They asked to leave more than once, and I promised to send them there as soon as I heard about you."

"I didn't expect you to come faster! You also saved me and the Thirteenth Legion. This is really a great opportunity."

Lin En nodded proudly, "No need to thank you too much. I just saved you by the way. My main purpose is to pick you up."

Guilliman's mouth twitched. He didn't know how to answer the question, so he could only scold Leman Russ again in his heart.

the next day,

A celebration was held in Cowes' "Victory Square". It is said that the name of Victory Square was decided last night.

More than 100,000 of the 150,000 Space Marines left from the war gathered here.

The climax of the celebration was the military parade in the presence of the Primarch,

A huge array of Baneblade heavy tanks, nearly a hundred units of various god-like machines - Titan legions, and neatly arrayed Space Marines.

When Guilliman and Linn appeared together, the entire square suddenly became quiet.

Guilliman grabbed Linn's arm and raised it to the sky, and his loud voice spread throughout the square.

"This is the Primarch of the Eleventh Legion, the Lord of the Apostles, the savior of Calth, the benefactor of the Thirteenth Legion, and my brother Linn! Let us congratulate him on his rebirth and return!"

The cheers of the Ultramarines were deafening!

Many of them could not help but look at the soldiers around them. As comrades who had fought side by side for many years, they had heard the past things from their mouths after they restored their memories.

Now that the original body of the Eleventh Legion is back, half of the soldiers here took off their helmets and knelt on one knee. The eyes on the resolute faces were red, and the awakened memories and restless genes in the body told them,

The person in front of them is their original body!

Scenes from the Battle of Randan came to mind, the hard battle, the betrayal of the Second Legion, the rage of the Primarch, and the Emperor's order to kill the Eleventh Legion.

In the end, the Primarch was willing to kill himself in exchange for their lives.

The Emperor's Chancellor Malcador sealed their memories and sent them here.

And now, everything will start again!

They would shed no more tears, but roar at the top of their lungs to welcome the return of the Primarch.

Linn walked off the stage and came to them.

"The Eleventh Legion and the Thirteenth Legion will always be brothers. Together, we will fight for the Empire and for humanity throughout the galaxy!"

The third cry in the square resounded through the sky!

Guilliman clapped and cheered with excitement, but he still keenly noticed Linn's declaration. He declared Eleven and Thirteen to be brother legions, and also swore to fight for the Empire and humanity.

But the only thing he didn't say was "For the Emperor!"
