Chapter 696

The Chinese New Year is here in a blink of an eye.

Because Jiang Yunbing's family was in Shannan, Qin Feng took the initiative to take over the task of being on duty during the New Year for Jiang Yunbing. Anyway, he had no relatives and was alone. It made no difference whether he was celebrating the New Year or not, and where he was celebrating the New Year.

Qin Feng took the initiative to take on the duty of being on duty for the three days of New Year's Eve, the first day of the first lunar month, and the second day of the first lunar month alone, so that others could have a good New Year at home.

The day before the Chinese New Year, the township had already had a holiday. Except for the two staff members who were on duty every day according to the schedule, the entire Bishan Township Government was completely empty.

On New Year's Eve, Qin Feng sat alone in his dormitory, switching the TV set over and over. The more he watched it, the more bored he became and the more lonely he felt.

Qin Feng was usually busy, so he didn't think anything was wrong, but now he was suddenly free, which made him at a loss.

Qin Feng opened the door and walked to the corridor. He glanced at the quiet dormitory building and then at the equally quiet government yard not far ahead.

"I should be the only one left here, right?" Qin Feng said to himself while smoking.

From time to time there were sounds of firecrackers and the laughter of children outside.

The more remote a place is, the less influenced it is by modern society and the better it retains its traditions. Therefore, the flavor of the New Year in Bishan is much stronger than that in big cities.

Standing here, you can smell the Chinese New Year even in the air.

But the more lively others are, the lonelier Qin Feng seems.

During the festive season, Qin Feng misses his relatives even more. He has no relatives in this world. He doesn't even know who to miss.

Qin Feng unnaturally took out his cell phone and dialed Hu Jiayun's cell phone number again, but the number was still empty. Qin Feng's call to Hu Jiayun's cell phone number was more of a spiritual sustenance.

Qin Feng scrolled down the address book and reached Zhou Qian's number. He wanted to call it, but in the end he held back.

Qin Feng knew that what he said in the hospital last time must have hurt Zhou Qian, but he had to do it, even though he felt equally uncomfortable.

"Since we haven't contacted each other for so long, then... let's not contact him anymore! This may be the best ending." Qin Feng sighed slightly and turned off his phone.

In the afternoon, Li Dejun called Qin Feng and asked Qin Feng to go to his house for New Year's Eve dinner in the evening. Li Dejun knew that Qin Feng was celebrating the New Year here alone.

Qin Feng rejected Li Dejun, and Li Dejun's son and daughter came back. Other people's families were reunited happily, but he, an outsider, felt uncomfortable in the past and would ruin the atmosphere of other people's family reunions.

On the day of the holiday, the cafeteria was also closed. Lao Li wanted to stay here to cook for Qin Feng, but Qin Feng drove him back.

Qin Feng prepared his own New Year's Eve dinner yesterday, including two barrels of instant noodles of different flavors and a box of beer.

There is no kitchen in the dormitory here, so even if Qin Feng wanted to make a New Year's Eve dinner, it would be impossible for him. What's more, he is celebrating the New Year alone and has no desire to cook, so he can just eat whatever he wants.

In the afternoon, Qin Feng, who was bored, once again sat alone on the sofa watching TV, and fell asleep on the sofa unknowingly.

Qin Feng was drowsily asleep when he was woken up by a phone call. He looked at the number and saw that it was Hong Yue calling.

"What are you doing?" Hong Yue asked Qin Feng.

"I didn't do anything. I was watching TV in the dormitory. I fell asleep just watching what I was watching. What about you? Are you celebrating the New Year alone or at your brother's house?"

"I have to go to work."

"Do you have to work during the Chinese New Year?"

"This is a big hospital, not like Bishan Health Center. It happens to be my turn to be on duty today, but fortunately it's the day shift and I just got off work."

"Then are you going back to your brother's place to celebrate the New Year?"

"The shuttle bus back to Bishan has stopped. I'm too lazy to rush back and forth. I just want to spend the New Year alone. What about you?" Hong Yue asked Qin Feng.

"I... am just like you, spending the New Year alone in the dormitory." Qin Feng chuckled, pretending to be relaxed.

Qin Feng had no relatives or friends, and his parents died young. Hong Yue knew this.

"Well... how about... you come to my place, and the two of us... have a New Year's Eve dinner together?" Hong Yue said a little shyly.

"Is this...convenient?" Qin Feng asked.

"I...live alone..." Hong Yue whispered, and Qin Feng could feel Hong Yue's shyness through the phone, and his face must have been red.

"Okay, I'll go over now." Qin Feng answered readily, hung up the phone, took the car keys and went downstairs.

The driver was given leave by Qin Feng to go back to celebrate the New Year, so the car keys were left with Qin Feng.

Qin Feng drove towards Shannan.

Qin Feng was a little afraid of this feeling of loneliness to the core, so he agreed to Hong Yue's invitation without even thinking about it.

Qin Feng drove to the downstairs where Hong Yue mentioned. When he arrived, Qin Feng discovered that this place was only one street away from where Li Jing lived.

After Qin Feng parked the car, he saw Hong Yue standing at the door of the unit building waiting for him. The north wind was blowing outside, and Hong Yue's face was blown red, which was very cute.

"Hong Yue, here." Qin Feng shouted to Hong Yue after getting off the car.

When Hong Yue saw Qin Feng, she suddenly laughed and ran over quickly.

"Why are you waiting here? Isn't it cold?" Qin Feng asked.

"It's not cold, that's okay. I'm going to the supermarket to buy groceries, but I guess you'll be arriving soon, and I'm afraid I won't be here when you arrive, so..."

"Is there anywhere to sell vegetables at this time today?"

"Yes, I asked the aunt next door and she said that the big supermarket over there is open during the Chinese New Year."

"Let's go, let me go shopping with you."

The two of them walked slowly in the cold wind. The wind hurt their faces, but Hong Yue seemed to enjoy this feeling.
