Chapter 36 Lively at home

 It’s already dark.

Awu held Wang Yuting's hand and followed a guard dressed as a porter, walking quickly through the reeds as tall as one person.

The reeds in winter have dried up, and there is mud and puddles on the ground from time to time.

The guards wore knee-length oilskin rain boots. Half of A Wu and Wang Yuting's trouser legs were soaked through, and half of their bodies were covered in mud, but neither of them felt any chill.

The two of them followed the escort and had been walking for half an hour. They were sweating all the way.

"Arrived."

The guard in front stopped, opened a piece of reed, and signaled A Wu and Wang Yuting.

A Wu and Wang Yuting came out of the reeds and stopped.

Under the clear light of the full moon, Gu Yan stood with his hands behind his back facing the surging river. The golden crown on his head shimmered slightly, and the silver-white plain silver fox lining cape moved with the wind.

Wang Yuting grabbed A Wu's hand hard and squeezed A Wu, then squeezed again.

She is a little scared.

"No, it's okay." Awu's throat felt tight.

Around early noon, the guards who brought them found them and took them to have a meal first. Then they loaded them into a cart and rode wildly for more than two hours. After getting off the cart, they entered the reeds and walked away.

After traveling for more than half an hour, arriving in such a deserted place was not a good thing.

Ah Wu even felt that the lunch meal was a farewell meal!

"Come here." Gu Yan turned around and pointed at A Wu.

Ah Wu took his hand out of Wang Yuting's hand and walked towards Gu Yan.

Wang Yuting followed a few steps subconsciously, stopped, wrung his hands together, and felt his heart in his throat.

"You have practiced Kung Fu, how is Kung Fu?" Gu Yan turned around and faced A Wu.

"It's okay." Awu tensed up.

Gu Yan was half a head taller than him, and this condescension oppressed him from the inside out, making him involuntarily tense until his whole body tightened.

Gu Yan hummed, took out the folding fan from the fan cover, "Try two moves."

Ah Wu hurriedly took two steps back and put on airs.

Gu Yan saw that he was ready, and took half a step forward. A Wu's feet moved accordingly, and he punched Gu Yan. Gu Yan put one hand behind his back and swung his folding fan at will, hitting A Wu's fist.

Ah Wu stumbled, took two steps to the side, and kicked Gu Yan with his foot.

Gu Yan shook open the folding fan to block the muddy water splashing on Ah Wu's shoes. He immediately closed the folding fan and hit Ah Wu on the shoulder.

Ah Wu's face was twisted in pain, but he rushed forward and punched Gu Yan.

Gu Yan's folding fan spun around and hit Ah Wu's swung elbow.

Awu staggered two steps and fell to his knees.

Gu Yan shook open the folding fan, looked at the mud spots on the folding fan, then lowered his head to look at two or three mud spots on the silver fox fur, and hummed, "Not bad."

"You have weapons!" Ah Wu raised his head, somewhat dissatisfied.

"Not only do I have weapons, but I am also ready to work."

Gu Yan's words made A Wu surprised and speechless.

"When you are at Beixing Wharf, you can take whatever job you want, and you can pay whatever price you want. No one dares to mess with you, and no one bullies you. Why do you have to find other jobs again and again, or even

Where can I find Miss Li?"

Gu Yan looked down at Ah Wu and asked.

"I can take care of Beixing Pier." Ah Wu hesitated and replied.

"If you want Beixing Pier, just follow the rules of the rivers and lakes and grab it. Why do you want to find another industry? Do you want the palace to come forward to snatch the dock for you?" Gu Yan bent down slightly and looked at A Wu who was kneeling on the ground.

Awu swallowed his saliva and looked at Wang Yuting subconsciously.

Gu Yan straightened up, followed A Wu's gaze to look at Wang Yuting, and raised his finger at Wang Yuting.

Wang Yuting rushed forward, knelt down next to A Wu, and looked up at Gu Yan, "A Wu is a good martial artist, and we have more than a dozen good brothers. We want to serve the prince."

Gu Yan narrowed his eyes slightly and saw A Wu from Wang Yuting. He was silent for a moment and said, "If you want to join me, tell the truth first. There is no such person as Yao Wu in Dongshun Township, Laiwu County, Yanzhou."

Awu pursed his lips tightly, and his hands on the ground trembled slightly.

Wang Yuting subconsciously reached out and grabbed A Wu's arm. For a moment, he suddenly raised his head and looked at Gu Yan, "If we tell the truth, no matter what the truth is, can you tolerate it?"

"No. If you don't want to say it, just say it. Let's go back to Beixing Pier and live a good life." Gu Yan raised his feet to leave.

"Let's talk!" Wang Yuting said anxiously.

"Sister!" Ah Wu shouted with a trembling voice.

"If he can't be tolerated, he can't be tolerated..." Wang Yuting was heartbroken, "What can we do? We even planned to die on the way here!"

Gu Yan looked at Wang Yuting and raised his eyebrows slightly.

The wife is the backbone of this young couple.

"The reason why you can't find Yao Wu in Dongshun Township is because when she was in Dongshun Township, her name was not Yao Wu, her name was Yao Pianqing. We are cousins, not husband and wife."

Wang Yuting finished speaking in one breath, slumping his shoulders and shrinking back, as if he had exhausted all his strength.

Awu lowered his head and huddled up.

Gu Yan was stunned for a moment before reacting. He took a step back and looked at A Wu carefully.

"Do your brothers know that you are not A Wu, but Pian Ping?" Gu Yan asked.

"I don't know, we only got to know them after we escaped." Awu replied.

"Is your voice born like this?"

"I took medicine."

"Why? For your cousin?" Gu Yan frowned slightly.

"No. I just don't want to be stuck at home. I hate taking care of the housework and caring for my husband and raising children. I originally wanted to die, but my cousin persuaded me..." Awu's throat choked.

"Her mother died in childbirth when giving birth to her. Her father was an escort, so he carried her around as escorts. For convenience, he kept dressing her up as a man. The escorts and porters who escorted her together thought she was a boy.<

"When she was fifteen years old, her father fell ill while on the road as a escort. Before he died, he entrusted her to my home. My mother-in-law is her aunt.

"She couldn't get used to it. After living in my house for a year, the two of us escaped." Wang Yuting continued.

"Why did you escape with her?" Gu Yan looked at Wang Yuting and asked.

"When she came to my house, it had been almost a year since my mother-in-law passed away. My father bought another house and assigned me to an old man in his sixties to fill in the house." Wang Yuting lowered his head.

Gu Yan looked at the two people back and forth and snorted coldly, "A pair of bold people."

Wang Yuting and A Wu huddled together, their heads lowered and silent.

"Are you still planning to go back to Yanzhou?" Gu Yan asked.

The two shook their heads together.

"Take your brother and go to Linhai Town. Find He Chengze, the shopkeeper of He Ji, and ask him to find you a job in Linhai Town." Gu Yan was silent for a moment and then ordered.

"That?" Ah Wu suddenly raised his head and looked at Gu Yan.

"Kowtow to the prince!" Wang Yuting slapped A Wu on the back.
