44, sweep the Grizzlies

On May 19, 2012, the game between the Warriors and the Grizzlies officially started at FedEx Arena.

Returning to their home court, the Grizzlies once again made changes to their starting lineup. Not only did they get Tony Allen, but they also got Marc Gasol.

The Grizzlies' starting lineup is Mike Conley, Mayo, Pondexter, Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph.

This is a pure offensive lineup.

Conley, Mayo and Gay all have three-pointers, Pondexter's three-pointers are also okay, and Zach Randolph is a good player in inside offense.

To put it bluntly, it is one big and four small, one star spreads out everywhere.

This lineup is full of firepower on offense, but it's hard to say enough on defense.

Conley's defense is very good, Gay's defense is okay, Poundsett's defense is good or not, barely passable, Mayo's defense is terrible, and as for Zach Randolph, he is a black hole on the defensive end.

It turns out that the Grizzlies' starting lineup included Tony Allen and Gasol. When these two were there, the Grizzlies' defense was quite good, ranking among the best in the league.

When the Grizzlies use their familiar starting lineup, their playing style is positional warfare and defense. To put it bluntly, I can't score, but you can't score!

The Grizzlies had this idea in Game 1, trying to compete defensively with the Warriors, but they were defeated.

In the second game, the Grizzlies made changes to their lineup and added Tony Allen. However, they still couldn't defend against the Warriors' offense, and their own offense wasn't much better.

In desperation, Grizzlies coach Hollins had to change the lineup again.

This is a typical example of treating a dead horse as a living horse.

The main focus of the Grizzlies is Randolph. Either let him challenge Yao Ming in the low post, or let him cooperate with Conley in the pick-and-roll.

The Warriors' strategy is to attack from a flank and never give Randolph a chance to attack.

In fact, it is not a big problem for Yao Ming to defend Randolph by himself, but Deng Fang does not want to do this.

What are the Warriors’ strengths?

The advantage of the Warriors is that there are many players and there are reliable players at every position.

But the Warriors' biggest advantage is their accuracy from the outside.

With the Splash Brothers, if the Warriors are second in the league in three-point shooting, then no team will feel that they are first in the league!

The Splash Brothers not only have a high three-point shooting percentage, but most importantly, their shooting speed is also fast!

The Spurs' three-point shooting percentage is also very high this season, but their three-pointers must be open shots, which means that the shooters must be prepared and cooperate with each other.

The Splash Brothers are different. As long as the two of them run out, as long as they catch the ball, as long as the defensive players don't block their faces, it's enough to give them a little space to take action!

No matter what posture, body position, or distance, as long as you can catch the ball and shoot, that's enough!

There are two such people in a team, and it is impossible for opponents not to be afraid.

You spend a long time hitting a two-pointer, and then someone else easily hits a three-pointer in just a few seconds. No one can stand a few rounds like this.

Therefore, if the Warriors have many players, their physical condition is good, and they are accurate from outside, they want to shoot more.

Therefore, the faster the fighting speed and the more rounds, the more beneficial it is to the warriors.

How can I play faster?

Just don't let the game fall into a positional battle.

How can we prevent the game from falling into a positional battle?

Double attack, make mistakes, play fast break, counterattack and score!

Anyway, I play with a lot of people, so when one of them gets tired, he can just come down and replace him with another one, and the strength of the lineup will not change much!

If Yao Ming can't run anymore, then switch to Lopez. If Lopez can't run anymore, then play a smaller lineup and let Kirilenko take the center position. If that doesn't work, there's no point in switching Tucker to the 5th position.

What problem.

Kirilenko and Tucker suffer a bit from playing the 5th position, but the Warriors defend well in other positions!

Four defensive warriors of about two meters in height make the opponent more desperate than a tall center standing inside!

The Grizzlies and Warriors started to attack from the beginning. They kept giving the ball to Randolph, and his teammates opened up space for him, allowing him to attack inside and cause damage.

But the Warriors didn't give Randolph a chance at all. Their attack was very decisive and resolute, causing Randolph to make mistakes many times.

Even if Randolph makes no mistakes and passes the ball, the Grizzlies can only choose to shoot from the outside.

The Warriors' Yao Ming, Kirilenko and Prince are all standing near the penalty area. Wouldn't it be stupid to rush inside?

As long as the Grizzlies take three-pointers from outside, the Warriors will succeed!

The five players on the Warriors court are all very capable in rebounding. As long as the Grizzlies fail to make a shot, the Warriors will get the rebound.

Even Curry's rebounding is not bad.

The title of center library is not deserved!

In just 5 minutes, the Warriors played 6 fast breaks, three of which ended in three-pointers!

Even if they can't play fast breaks, the Warriors are quite efficient in positional battles.

There is no way Curry can be happy with Randolph, a defensive black hole, on the court.

Previously, when opponents flanked Curry, Curry could only choose to pass the ball.

Now Randolph and Conley are flanking Curry. Curry doesn't care at all and just takes action against Randolph's defense.

No matter how hard he tried, Conley had to get around from behind the screener, but Randolph couldn't reach him no matter how decisively he pounced!

Randolph, an average perimeter player, is difficult to defend, let alone Curry, whose shot speed is at a historic level.

In 5 minutes, Curry took 4 3-pointers, hit 3 of them, and also broke through to the inside and scored 4 points.

The score difference quickly widened to 10 points, and the Grizzlies had to call a timeout.

After the timeout, the Grizzlies replaced Randolph and replaced him with Gasol.

Gasol's defense is much better than Randolph's, but he is much worse than Randolph on the offensive end. More importantly, Gasol's movement speed is not fast either.

The Grizzlies' defense is a little better, but their offense is much weaker.

The Splash Brothers, who have found the feeling, are unstoppable, and the point difference is still widening.

Soon, the first quarter was over and the score became 47:22. The Warriors led by 25 points in a single quarter.

Curry scored 23 points in one quarter, and Clay also threw three three-pointers, scoring 11 points in a single quarter.

The Splash Brothers defeated the game in one quarter.

You know, this is the home court of the Grizzlies!

At the beginning, the Grizzlies home fans cheered for the home team happily.

But slowly, FedEx Arena became quiet.

There was no way, the home team's offense was too constipated, and the fans even had no chance to cheer and celebrate.

It was so exciting to watch the home team's game. Slowly, at the end of the first quarter, watching Curry's wonderful performance, many Grizzlies home fans surrendered and began to chant "Curry MVP"!

The Grizzlies generals sitting on the bench were extremely depressed - young people are too ungrateful...
