Chapter 4 Apologize to Me

Looking at Yun Qiao, Du Xiaoqin sighed.

In fact, after Du Xiaoqin got what he wanted, he regretted agreeing to bring Yun Qiao.

"...When I get back to Yancheng, I will find a family to marry her off, and I will be out of sight. At any rate, I have fulfilled my responsibility as a mother." Du Xiaoqin thought.

The mother and daughter had their own thoughts and went all the way to Yancheng.

Du Xiaoqin repeatedly told Yun Qiao to be careful with her words and deeds when arriving at Xi's house, and not to embarrass her.

Yun Qiao said he remembered it.

They got off the train at the train station, and a driver was waiting to take Du Xiaoqin and her daughter back to Xi's home.

The Xi family's old house is located in the downtown area, taking a quiet spot in the middle of the hustle and bustle, occupying a large area.

The car stopped at the gate of Xi's house and then drove inside. Along the way, Yun Qiao saw houses, pavilions, and even a huge lake.

"The Xi family is indeed luxurious."

Du Xiaoqin observed her expression and felt a little proud when he saw that she kept looking out the car window.

Although Yun Qiao and her grandmother lived a prosperous life, they were just first-class country squires. Yun Qiao had never seen the Xi family's wealth.

After driving for about ten minutes, the car stopped at the entrance of a small courtyard.

This is the courtyard within the garden.

The courtyard wall is not high, and green bamboos are planted inside and outside. In the cold winter months, the green waves are rolling, and the wind is graceful.

The door of the carved courtyard was opened, revealing a rain-flowered stone path leading to a small building.

There are flower beds on both sides of the path, which are bare at this time of year; behind the flower beds, there are short hollies planted, which are also green in color, adding a bit of brightness to the winter.

The small building at the end has two floors in total. The colorful glass windows reflect the sunlight, and the brilliance flows, giving it a unique kind of fashion.

Du Xiaoqin led her in.

In the middle of the afternoon, the adults and children in the fourth room were not at home and went out to work or study.

"Your stepfather is working in the Ministry of Finance now, and he will get off work in two hours. You have to call dad then; your sister and brothers have all gone to school, and only your little brother is at home." Du Xiaoqin added.

She called the servant.

Soon, the maid came down from upstairs and brought a five-year-old boy.

After Du Xiaoqin remarried, she gave birth to three more sons, this one being the youngest.

"Call me sister." Du Xiaoqin brought her youngest son over, pointed at Yun Qiao and said to him.

The child was fair and round, wearing overalls, small leather boots, and a pair of dark eyes. He was looking at Yun Qiao curiously.

Then, he raised his foot and kicked Yun Qiao: "She is not my sister. My sister is beautiful but ugly!"

Yun Qiao: "..."

The child's leather shoes were very painful to kick.

Du Xiaoqin did not teach the child a lesson, but instead laughed, as if she thought her younger son was very interesting: "You still call him ugly?"

Yun Qiao: "..."

Therefore, behind every naughty child, there is a naughty parent.

Du Xiaoqin thought that Yun Qiao would also smile in agreement.

Unexpectedly, Yun Qiao pinched the child's ears and lifted him up.

"Apologise to me!" Yun Qiao said to this little bastard with a straight face.

Du Xiaoqin's face changed slightly.

The maids were stunned.

Yun Qiao lifted the young master, who was so arrogant and favored by many people, by his ears.

The child was stunned for a moment, then started crying and grabbing Yun Qiao's hand.

Du Xiaoqin's voice was fierce: "Let go, what are you doing? You country barbarian!"

Yun Qiao let go and kicked Du Xiaoqin hard.

Du Xiaoqin: "..."

She was almost kicked down.

Being kicked unprepared, even if Yun Qiao only used 50% of his strength, it still hurt.

Yun Qiao's expression was indifferent, even a little lazy: "I feel it hurts a lot, what do you think?"
