Chapter 49: The arrival of the ninth uncle

Two days later.

"I've met my uncle."

Hurrying slowly, Uncle Jiu finally arrived.

Just like in the film and television works, Uncle Jiu has thick eyebrows and big eyes, and he looks upright, giving people a feeling of trust.

"It's great to see you guys are okay."

Seeing that Zhang Heng and others were not in any unexpected situation, Uncle Jiu, whose face was full of weather, breathed a sigh of relief.

"Chief, we could have arrived yesterday. Who knew that the car had some minor problems and it was delayed for a whole day."

Zhang Zhentian, who went to pick up Uncle Jiu, felt too guilty to dare to see Zhang Heng.

"This is God's will and cannot be forced."

Zhang Heng did not accuse anything.

Zhang Zhentian looked ashamed and wanted to say something else, but Uncle Jiu got there first: "Ah Heng, how is that thing?"

"Uncle Master." Zhang Heng was a little embarrassed: "That thing has been subdued by the people I summoned, so your trip was in vain."

"Conquered!"

The expression on Uncle Jiu's face softened a bit, and he nodded and said: "It's good to be subdued. It doesn't matter if I go all the way in vain. I'm just afraid that if your master is not at home, that thing will come out and cause trouble. It will be my Maoshan's face that will be lost."

.”

After finishing speaking, Uncle Jiu asked Zhang Heng: "How did you subdue it? Tell me later."

"Uncle Master, there's no rush. I've already prepared wine and food in the temple. Let's go in and talk."

Zhang Heng invited Uncle Jiu in.

"Senior brother, is this the ninth uncle?"

Zhang boldly followed Zhang Heng and whispered: "The momentum seems to be more powerful than our master. Uncle Jiu must have very high cultivation level, right?"

"Master said that Uncle Jiu is a representative of the people who have accumulated a lot of experience, and his cultivation is also the best among the people in Maoshan."

While talking, Zhang Heng looked at Uncle Jiu.

Upon seeing this, Uncle Jiu was silent on the surface, but the corners of his mouth were slightly raised, obviously very satisfied with Zhang Heng's evaluation.

"So rich?"

Entering the back hall of the Taoist temple, Uncle Jiu saw the food and wine that had been prepared.

The wine is made from Maotai Town for 30 years, and the mud seal has just been opened.

Not to mention the dishes, sashimi, steamed lamb, roasted suckling pig, roasted duck, more than a dozen dishes, a big table was set up, even the hairy crabs that the poor eat, it was extremely rich.

"Is this all prepared in advance?"

Uncle Jiu was a little flattered.

"Uncle Master, as soon as your car arrived at the county seat, someone took a shortcut on horseback to report it."

"As for these wines and delicacies, my nephew, my master, is as rich as a millionaire. It's really nothing."

Zhang Heng motioned for everyone to leave, leaving only Zhang DaDa and Zhang Zhentian to accompany him: "Uncle Master, please take a seat."

"The Taoist temple is well done, and the decoration inside is also very elegant. It is much better than my Yizhuang."

Uncle Jiu sat down and looked left and right, then looked at Zhang Heng: "I heard from Zhentian that your family has a big business and thousands of people?"

Zhang Heng said with a smile: "In addition to being a disciple of Maoshan, my nephew is also the head of the Zhang family in Yangjiang. He is doing well in Yangjiang County."

"If you are doing well, then you must have a lot of industries?"

Uncle Jiu thought of the Ren family in Ren's town.

The Ren family is the richest man in Ren's town, and even the town is named after them.

Speaking of being rich, Uncle Jiu has never seen anyone richer than the Ren family. Unfortunately, some time ago, when the grave was moved and Old Mrs. Ren faked his body, the Ren family was on the verge of being broken down, with only one little girl left.

"Industry..."

Zhang Heng answered more modestly: "It's not a lot. I have more than 30,000 acres of land in Yangjiang County, and there are more than 10,000 acres of land in other nearby counties."

"There are probably more than a hundred shops, the largest number of which are rice shops. I have hundreds of rice shops in thirty-six counties in Handong, which are responsible for the food and drink of millions of people."

Uncle Jiu opened his mouth, but no words came out.

Hundreds of rice shops, food and drink for millions of people, how much money does this cost?

Although the Ren family is rich, it is not that wealthy. Senior Brother Xu has a good apprentice.

"Uncle, my senior brother doesn't open a rice business just to make money."

Zhang Dadan helped by saying: "You don't know that wherever there is a disaster, our Zhangjia Rice Shop will go there to provide porridge and stabilize food prices. My senior brother can be said to be the Buddha of thousands of families, even those high-ranking officials in the Nanguo government

They all say that my senior brother is serving the country and the people."

"For the country and the people, for the country and the people!!"

Uncle Jiu muttered a few words, and his eyes became brighter and brighter: "This is the responsibility that I, a disciple of Maoshan, should have. Although I am older than you, Uncle Master, from the perspective of serving the country and the people, it is simply worthless to compare with you."

Mention it."

"Uncle Master, it's serious."

Zhang Heng said with a smile: "There are pros and cons, and there are strengths and weaknesses. I just did what I should do. I don't seek fame or illusory humane merits. I only seek peace of mind."

Zhang Heng entered Taoism not long ago, but he also has his own opinions on the word Tao.

Take for example some of the protagonists in novels who traveled into the Republic of China. Those who did good deeds for the sake of merit, in Zhang Heng's view, have fallen into the inferior category.

Merits should not be sought.

People who practice Taoism should not deliberately seek merit.

Taoism is natural. If you do something with obsession and purpose, how can it be natural if there are traces of man-made things everywhere?

Mao Jundao said: "The Tao has no name, it is mixed with ethereal spirits, emptied spirits are not ambiguous, existence and non-existence are interdependent, existence but formlessness, non-existence but emotion, it is too mysterious and wonderful, and it is carried out from the heart."

Just follow your heart in everything.

To ask.

Seeking the Tao, sit quietly and recite the Huangting, eliminate the false and retain the true, the body will be filled with golden light, reflecting my body, making elixirs to protect my life, jade talismans to protect my body, gold medals to wear honors, my name will stay in the immortal mansion, this is the supreme immortal, and I will be named by heaven and earth.

Those who seek good deeds, receive gifts from others, teach others fish, help others for pleasure, are not afraid of asceticism, do good deeds in this life, accumulate blessings in the next life, have good merits and virtues, and become immortals. This is the lower immortality, and is named by merit.

Zhang Heng cultivates Taoism and seeks immortality, and he does not just want to be a meritorious immortal.

Therefore, he does good deeds not for merit, but for peace of mind.

If there is merit, there will be it; if there is no merit, there will be none.

Merit is not the basis for his good deeds, nor is it the purpose.

If anyone thinks that he has other motives for doing good deeds, he is totally wrong.

He does it just because he wants to do it and can do it.

If you don't want to, just follow the example of Patriarch Sanmao and stay at home, devote yourself to cultivating the Tao, and ignore the worldly world. Isn't this not the right way to practice?

The so-called transcendence into the world is a Buddhist saying.

There is no such compulsory rule in Taoism. The so-called worldly experience means that you want to go, but you don’t have to go, and it doesn’t mean that you have to go, and you can’t do it if you don’t.

If you don't want to go, hide in the mountains and fields, devote yourself to cultivating the Tao, perfect the Tao, become immortal and ascend, and still roam freely between heaven and earth. It doesn't matter how many good things you do, whether you have done good things or not, as long as you have done enough.

Unless your initial goal is to cultivate meritorious deeds or become a ghost immortal after death.

Otherwise, it doesn’t matter whether you have more or less merit.

...

first meet.

Zhang Heng could tell that Uncle Jiu had a good impression of him.

In addition, Zhang Heng can talk and always supports Uncle Jiu, so naturally he feels at home.

"That old man Ren was buried in the Dragonfly Point for decades, and then sucked the blood of his close relatives. The zombie he turned into is really not simple."

"At the end, simply holding your breath is of no use to him. The decay is gone and new is born, and his eyes can see things. If it weren't for your uncle's superb skills, I would have led it to my home, Yizhuang, and wanted to clean it up.

It’s really not easy.”

After three rounds of drinking.

Uncle Jiu shook his head and told Zhang Heng about his experience in dealing with Mr. Ren some time ago.

After saying that, he felt that Zhang Heng, the same disciple, was able to deal with the evil ghosts by himself, but his two disciples were still out of tune. He couldn't help but sigh: "My two disciples, if only I had three points from you, I would be satisfied.

The two of them are so careless, they just know how to make jokes all day long, which makes me very nervous."

Zhang Heng couldn't answer this.

Because no matter how out of tune he is, he is still Uncle Jiu’s own apprentice.

Even if they are not close to each other, if he, an outsider, comes in and gives advice to Uncle Jiu's apprentice, Uncle Jiu will not say anything on the surface, but deep down, I don't know what he will think.

After all, one's own apprentice should be protected by one's own.

Outsiders, don’t say anything bad.
