Chapter 40 The Divine Kingfisher

Lying on the soft bed, Nelisi suddenly woke up from her sleep. She blinked in confusion, and it took several seconds before she remembered...

I am lying in bed sleeping now.

Nelisi breathed a sigh of relief, turned sideways, and was suddenly startled again, because she found that the place was empty and there was no sign of Shirley.

Nelisi hurriedly stood up and saw that Shirley had gotten up at some point and was sitting in front of the dressing mirror, combing her long, silky red hair.

From the corner of her eye, Shirley saw Naili Shi getting up and said a little embarrassedly: "I'm sorry, did I wake you up?"

"No." Nailishi rubbed her cheek and said, "I woke up on my own... I just had a nightmare, dreaming that a fire dragon wanted to eat me."

"It's safe here, no fire dragon will eat you." Shirley said softly.

Nelisi hummed and asked again: "What time is it now?"

"It's almost five o'clock."

"It's only five o'clock in the morning?" Nailishi's eyes widened and she asked doubtfully, "Then what are you doing up so early?"

Shirley picked up a silver hair rope from the box on the dressing table, tied her hair, and whispered:

"Rolf is still on the deck. I'm going to check on him."

Nailishi slapped her head and said, "Yes, I forgot about this."

During dinner last night, several people agreed to take turns to watch on the deck. Last night, it was Luo Fu who kept watch.

But isn't the guard changing at seven o'clock? Why did Shirley get up at five o'clock?

Shirley tied her ponytail, took out a few sets of clothes from the closet, hung them on the hangers, and said softly:

"Nelisi, you were in such a hurry that you left all your luggage on the Mayflower.

We are about the same height, so you should be able to wear my clothes. These are new and haven't been worn yet, so you can change into them first."

"Thank you, Shirley." Nellie looked at the ponytailed girl with great gratitude and said with warmth in her heart:

"It's so kind of you!"

Shirley smiled softly. "It's still early. You can sleep for a while. I'll leave first."

After saying that, the girl left the bedroom and entered the kitchen. After being busy for a while, she put the prepared breakfast in the food box.

Shirley carried the food box, walked through the corridor, climbed up the stairs, opened the door of the box, poked her head slightly, and looked out.

Luo Fu was sitting on a large lounge chair, with a thick blanket wrapped around his body. He held a map in his hand, which was densely covered with words. An oil lamp next to his elbow gave off a soft light.

There was a magic eye floating in the air, through which Rolf could observe the surrounding situation.

Therefore, the young man quickly discovered the ponytailed girl named “Vietcong Probe”. He put down the map and asked with a smile:

"Why are you here so early? It's not time for you to change the guard yet."

Shirley handed him the food box, quickly climbed out of the box, and said softly: "I couldn't sleep, so I came to see you."

Luo Fu opened the food box and found that the square box was filled with various cakes. He sniffed it vigorously and said with a smile: "It smells so good."

"You can finish the breakfast I made for you, and then you can go back to sleep. I'll keep an eye on it for you."

Shirley landed on the deck and looked towards the sea. The sea was still filled with fog and she couldn't see anything clearly. She could only hear the rumble of the waves washing against the ghost ship.

Shirley's sleeves crackled under the turbulent sea breeze, and she couldn't help but wrap her robe tightly.

Luofu quickly lifted off his blanket and said, "It's a bit cold, please come in quickly."

Shirley hummed softly, took off her shoes, quickly got into the blanket, and subconsciously arched her body towards Luofu's warm body.

He hugged her gently, thought inappropriately, and then asked resentfully:

"Nelisi didn't come with you this time?"

Shirley grinned and said, "No, she's still sleeping."

Last night, the two of them had made an appointment to do their summer homework in the bedroom, and by the way, they would "discuss" the mysteries of transfiguration in depth.

After Rolf finished chatting with Skull Egg, he went back to his room to wait. In the end, Shirley did go to the appointment, but she didn't expect Nellie to come with her.

As a result, the world of two people became a threesome, and the "academic research" that Luo Fu originally imagined did not appear. He could only sit there and do his homework honestly.

Therefore, he will be full of resentment towards Nelisi and dislike her as a big light bulb.

Shirley stared at Luo Fu's face up close and asked softly: "Did anything unusual happen last night?"

"No." Rolf shook his head and said, "The ghost ship has been wandering around, and nothing happened overnight."

He originally thought that the dragon-shaped beast that he blinded would catch up, but it didn't appear again.

"It's okay." Shirley said in a soft voice, "You should eat quickly, it will get cold in a while."

Luofu hummed, picked up a piece of honey bread, took a bite and said, "By the way, I had a chat with Egg last night."

He quickly talked about the scepter and the crown. Shirley listened quietly and pondered:

"So, the Mayflower was attacked by a dragon-shaped monster, and it was all the fault of the scepter and the crown?"

"I'm afraid so." Luo Fe sighed: "I originally wanted to throw them into the sea."

"But the skull said that the scepter and crown still have important functions, so let's keep them for now."

Shirley nodded, picked up a piece of apple pie, chewed it carefully, and asked, "Did you ask about the singing?"

"I asked." Rolf said with a solemn expression, "Ego said... that was the singing voice of his mother Scylla."

"Skolla's singing?" Shirley asked doubtfully, "Then why am I not affected?"

"Ego said that apart from being more powerful than his mother, or some ancient species on Avalon Island, which can be unaffected, the only thing left is..."

"The blood descendants of Scylla and her two sisters." Luo Fe said slowly.

Shirley was surprised and dumbfounded.

"In the first two cases, it is impossible for you." Luo Fu said. "Then you can only be...a descendant of the three siren sisters."

"Then why can't Myrcella?" Shirley asked doubtfully: "Isn't she also a descendant of Palserope, the eldest sister of the three Siren sisters?"

"I don't know about that." Luo Fe was also a little confused.

Myrcella fell asleep twice when she heard singing, but she was clearly a descendant of Parserope.

Shirley fell silent.

As an orphan who grew up in a convent, she did not know who her parents were.

At Christmas, Rolf took her to Gryffindor Castle. The amulet she had brought since childhood could actually open the door to the castle... This shows that she may be related to Gryffindor.

Now, according to Egg, could she be a descendant of the three siren sisters?

Then who are her parents...?

Shirley's face was full of confusion, but fortunately, Luofu hugged her tightly, and the girl felt his solid chest and felt the warmth of his snuggle.

At this moment, a bird song came from the distance. It was a high-pitched and sharp trill, like a flash of lightning, so clear amid the rumbling waves.

After a few breaths, a bird pierced the fog and landed on the rusty railing of the ghost ship.

Rolf and Shirley looked up and saw a bird the size of a pigeon, with golden feathers all over its body and no mottled color at all.

The bird looked at Luo Fu with its dark blue eyes, which were as dark as the night ocean. It opened its beak and let out a sharp, happy chirp.

There was a sudden "ding" in Luo Fu's brain.
