31. New school building

As one of the first neighborhoods in Belfast, Gwynne has a long-standing reputation.

When the city was not prefixed with the old prefix.

At that time, it was a bustling business district and a gathering place for rich and famous people.

Today, Gwen Street, like all parts of old Belfast, is in ruins, with collapsed and crumbling houses everywhere.

After taking the revealing potion, Lu Li walked on the broken bluestone streets, his memory split between the prosperity of the past and the dilapidation of the present.

Compared to the weird things hiding in dark corners, these crumbling houses that could collapse at any time due to slight shaking seemed to have a higher chance of killing Lu Li.

Lu Li stopped briefly in front of a complete two-story house. The surrounding houses either collapsed into ruins or only had incomplete walls left standing. The reason why it remained standing was quite clear. It was a stone house.

It was sturdier than the dilapidated houses around it that were equally as dangerous as the weird ones. More importantly, the appearance potion allowed Lu Li to sense the atmosphere of the other world permeating behind the window.

Lu Li raised his eyes and looked at the curtains upstairs that seemed to be swaying slightly in the breeze.

The perceived breath is far away from the window.

The aura is not strong, or even unexpectedly thin. There are usually only two possibilities for this: the weirdness in the house is really weak, or it has deceived the revealing potion.

Considering that the Gwen neighborhood is close to the Agate Lake camp and the destroyed reptile nest, the weird thing about staying here is not the latter. Lu Li stepped into the house.

Ignoring the empty lobby downstairs, Lu Li walked straight up the stairs.

The fact that the house was intact meant that the corridor was dark with no light. Standing in front of the last few steps, Lu Li raised the oil lamp.

Da da

A disturbing and silent bouncing sound suddenly came from the front room, and a glass bead rolled out from under the door and entered the opposite room.

Lu Li ignored the strange phenomenon and walked into the corridor.

da da da da da

More than a dozen glass beads were noisy, rolling across the corridor, getting into cracks in doors or hitting walls.

Lu Li paused slightly and approached the room where the glass beads rolled out.

"Cough cough cough cough..."

A cold and old cough suddenly came from behind the door and echoed in the corridor.

Ignoring the lame and almost ridiculous trick, Lu Li stood in front of the door where the obscure aura existed, holding the doorknob.

The locked door didn't move at all.

Backing up slightly, Lu Li was about to kick open the rotten wooden door, when the door slowly opened.

In an old and dilapidated house, in a dark corner where sunlight cannot reach, a thin figure in a tuxedo hangs under the ceiling fan, swaying slightly, staring at the uninvited guest with blood in his eyes behind his messy hair.

It was answered by the sound of a psychic gun hammer being cocked.

"Wait, please wait...I don't want to hurt you!" Panic shouts sounded, and the tuxedo ghost raised his hands.

So it's still alive.

"I recognize this gun... it's the exorcist's weapon! How could you have it!"

"I'm an exorcist."

"Are you telling a joke? Here? The Exorcist?" The Tuxedo Ghost made an inappropriately funny laugh, and quickly shut up after meeting Lu Li's quiet black eyes: "I'm sorry... I just didn't expect there to be Exorcists in the world."

"Have you always been here?"

Lu Li did not hesitate to talk to a ghost who could communicate. The tuxedo ghost appeared as a haggard and thin middle-aged man, with long noodle-like curly brown hair hanging down on both sides of his long face.

"Yes, all the time..."

Its mood became silent: "That storm killed me... and left me lost in the wilderness for an unknown period of time... I saw the sun shining and thought the world had returned, but I was surrounded by familiar and unfamiliar scenes.

, finally I came back here, back to my home, but the family I once had is no longer there..."

Lu Li lowered his palm and looked at the corroded and blurred picture frame on the corner cabinet. Under the gaze of the tuxedo ghost, he walked closer, turned slightly to face it, and picked up the picture frame.

"Are you Login Mitchell?"

The tuxedo ghost who didn't take the opportunity to attack nodded: "How do you know my name? Yes, I am Michelle. That was a photo of me and my wife on our wedding anniversary."

"I don't know." Lu Li turned to look at it, and put down the photo frame with the photos inside mixed into pieces due to shaking: "I made up the name at random."

"Uh... I lied. I just forgot about the homeless ghost of my past."

The Tuxedo Ghost revealed the truth, or the second lie: "I guess I died with Belfast, and then hid on the back of the mountain out of fear, and ran back a few months ago. I like it here, like the sunshine, will

It reminds me of the time when nothing happened and I was still alive. But it is too dangerous here. Only the area near the top of the mountain is free of those monsters..."

"Why didn't you become a wraith?" Lu Li asked.

"Become what?"

"A ghost will become a wraith if it absorbs the breath of the world from too many miles away."

Killing humans or monsters would work too, but apparently Tuxedo Ghost didn't do that.

"What is the other world?"

"An obscure aura that surges around you and drags you into the abyss."

"I see... you are talking about something that will come out when my mood fluctuates..." Tuxedo Ghost suddenly realized. "I was afraid of it, so I avoided it, and I did the right thing!"

"Do you know what the situation was like in old Belfast?" Lu Li interrupted his joy.

The Tuxedo Ghost shook his head. He had always been hiding in the house and never left.

"We have set up a camp around Agate Lake. You can go there and take refuge."

"Take refuge... you won't kill me?" Its joy became even more intense.

"Have you ever attacked humans?" Lu Li put the psychic gun into his holster under its gaze.

"No! I'll go right away!" The tuxedo ghost's thoughts gradually became active, but it had nothing to do with Lu Li: "Can I take them away..."

It quietly points to glass beads, these by-products of industrialization, but they have always been popular because of their sophistication and cheapness.

Lu Li nodded in agreement, and the Tuxedo Ghost quickly pocketed the glass beads that rolled into the corridor and next door, and followed him back downstairs.

"You are an exorcist, do you know the reason for this place?"

The Tuxedo Ghost points to the sunlight shining through the broken window frame.

"The Ancient One sacrificed himself to disperse the clouds."

Then the land was given to him.

As Lu Li stepped onto the street, he suddenly stopped and realized a key point: Are the Swamp Mothers really willing to go out and experience it on their own?

But they did allow and condone it, and gave up protection. Does this mean... what the crown of knowledge conceals?

"Mother of the swamp." Lu Li whispered.

"I'm here, what's the matter?"

The words of the Swamp Mother echoed in my mind.

"...I just guessed the truth."

"I won't leave for the time being. You can go directly to the human camp next to Agate Lake." Lu Li said to the Tuxedo Ghost.

"Of course, I'll wait for you there."

The Tuxedo Ghost laughed, and then after drifting deeper into the street and turning into an invisible alley, the Tuxedo Ghost spat viciously: "I'm not stupid, trying to deceive my smart boss Parker? I won't do it.

It’s your fault!”

The Tuxedo Ghost, who was about to change his hiding place, turned around and floated away, but some invisible force came at this time and took over the Tuxedo Ghost's consciousness, numbly drifting towards the Agate Lake camp.
