Fifty-two. Freshmen

"We should go to the Outer Rim."

Lu Li and Mateus were walking back to the core cave.

"With all due respect, Mr. Lu Li, that's too dangerous. No one knows if it's a trap..."

"It had already spread to the Outer Rim before I came here."

"But we don't know if it found us, and if we found it..."

Lu Li didn't think that the other party would give up Spread for him, but there was a possibility that even though he no longer had humanity, Lu Li, who was entrenched in faith, was still a good candidate for his family.

The reason they left was that when the twisted figure was transforming believers, he found a resident marked by the evil god's breath.

Because the residents' food and water sources were contaminated and there was a lack of monitoring, the Twisted Figure thought the residents had accidentally eaten the flesh and blood of a believer of an evil god or drank contaminated water, but then the Twisted Figure discovered the second and third ones.

The three residents did not know each other and lived far away from each other, so there was no possibility of contamination by accidentally eating together.

Excluding coincidence, all that remains is intentionality.

A certain alien god spreads faith in the Vina Refuge Area.

They now need to trace the root cause: the problem stems from the supplies sent by the earth dweller trading company, or the tentacles of the alien gods extending into the refuge area, or it is really just some kind of excessive coincidence.

The twisted figure temporarily blinded the consciousness of the three residents carrying the aura of the evil god, possessed the believers, and took them to an open area away from the residents.

"You have summoned Her Majesty the Mother of the Swamp. She will be arriving soon. You can leave the handling of the evil god's aura to them. There are other requests in the Weiner Refuge Area that require your help..."

Lu Li couldn't refuse Mateus' request, and he recounted the troubles he was facing as quickly as possible: in addition to evacuating the outer ring to crowd the inner ring, people with ulterior motives took the opportunity to peddle conspiracies, and the residents were contaminated with the aura of the evil god.

Lu Li's orders were obeyed and disobeyed.

They moved their belongings onto the roads, blocked the streets, and made the core cave a mess by exaggerating their migration.

So Mateus needs Lu Li's help: he has had enough of this bunch of idiots who are like walking on the beach with their heads down and ignoring the tsunami in the distance, still fighting for power when the human race is dying.

"So I intend to dissolve Parliament."

Mateus asked Lu Li for his opinion. He thought Lu Li would agree, but he didn't.

"I do not support this decision."

"Why?" Mateus was puzzled.

"You said before that the parliamentary system is the best option to prevent the city from going astray due to those in power."

"But they are going astray..."

"But it's not the council that has the problem. No one is right all the time..." Lu Li thought of something and lowered his dark eyes slightly: "No decision is perfect, including what I said at this time."

The ice-free port of Wiener is like a big ship that obeys the instructions of the captain. But if the captain has a problem and irreparably hits an iceberg, the first mate must let him turn the steering wheel.

"I think I understand what you mean. Is the extremism you told me not long ago correct?" Mateus repeated what Lu Li said: "'We should not face the world in extremes'..."

"Then how do you want to solve this matter?"

"Before going to sea, the dreamer told me a story." Lu Li rarely spoke more words: "I thought this story was a metaphor for me or the future of this world, but it seems not, it is prepared for you."

"story?"

Ten minutes later.

Parliament hall.

All the members were in front of the round table, watching Lu Li and Matthäus quietly.

"I want to tell a story."

Lu Li slowly told the story that Yongdreamer told him before setting off.

In a world that has maintained peace for hundreds of years, war has rekindled. The most powerful country is confronting the second most powerful country on the border. Small countries on the edge are eager to try to get a piece of this war. Countless plotters and conspirators are trying to make the war more tragic.

Wandering on land.

Just because the more serious the war is, the more people will benefit, and the people who are dragged into the war and die will not express their opinions.

This war that swept the entire world and lasted for hundreds of years finally broke out. Countless lords and kings suddenly emerged in the war, and were killed by more powerful or cruel kings. Those who never fell down were dubbed "great"

His name was used to usurp this honor to himself.

During this period, not everyone realized that the population was getting smaller and smaller, famines were getting more serious, and plagues were more and more common. However, during the war era, everyone was pushed forward by the waves and had no time to think. Even the great kings

I could only struggle to surface and take a brief breather before the next wave came.

But everyone feels that victory is coming.

Instead of the king who became the most powerful country a hundred years ago, he wants to unite surrounding countries to launch a general attack. The second most powerful country sends troops to try to go to the most powerful country to prepare for peace. Small countries are still trying to get the last piece of the pie. Bards spread the word that war is about to happen.

News of the end is exchanged for rewards, mercenaries melt or sell iron swords with missing blades, the old conspirators have long completed their plots or died while the new conspirators have not yet emerged, and farmers cultivate the battlefield that is irrigated with blood and corpses.

Then the Ending suddenly woke up from the ground and easily destroyed the world.

All ambitions, all conspiracies, all good yearnings, all joys and sorrows, all ongoing, unfinished, and about to begin, were annihilated in an instant as the earth's crust shattered.

"We never know which will come first, tomorrow or destruction."

Businessman Anthony appears next to Lu Li at the end of the story, bringing news that the consciousness of the Swamp Mother has arrived.

After telling the story, Lu Li followed him out of the parliament hall, and the empty hall echoed with his footsteps.

Buck, wearing a tuxedo that tightened his flesh, looked at Mateus: "What does the exorcist mean?"

"Survival and destruction are in an instant. We are as fragile as summer flowers. Competing with other flowers to see who is more beautiful will not prevent us from being smashed in the storm..."

Matthäus knew that the story was not only for the MPs, but also for him: "So... I will no longer think about dissolving Parliament, and I also ask you to put aside your personal interests."

"The people outside are not your wall of flesh."

Lu Li went straight to meet the Swamp Mother, Twisted Shadow.

Parliamentary Matters Matthäus knows what to do. No matter whether they resign as members or change their ways, as long as it does not hinder the plan to retreat to the depths.

Lu Li saw what seemed to be a thick branch possessed by the Swamp Mother that had been cut out from the guarding branch of the banyan tree. The twisted figure stood aside, as well as three residents who were temporarily deprived of consciousness and stood godlessly.

"What are you going to do with them?"

The Swamp Mother whispers in my mind.

"First confirm who the alien god left his breath is."

Lu Li asked the Mother of the Swamp to support him and quietly sneaked into the dreams of the three residents.
