47. Enter the swamp

This road opened in Shadow Swamp is paved with compacted soil. It is slightly higher than the swamp to cope with the rising rain that may come in the rainy season without being flooded.

The motorcade left Shadow Town and drove onto the swamp road. Some dead trees on both sides of the road were wrapped with red ropes. Some of the traces were very new, while others faded, became lighter, and turned black.

The leader of a convoy that often passes through this swamp road said that it was tied up by passers-by, and people hope that this way can ensure a smooth journey on the road.

There are many scenes like this near the entrance of the swamp, but as you pass through the gentle area with relatively normal scenery and enter the swamp, both sides of the road turn into a lifeless and dark world. The red ropes become scarce, and only some ropes that turn completely black are left.

The branches of the dead trees hang down and flutter in the breeze.

Like a twisted figure waving to the motorcade.

Lu Li's unique black eyes and temperament make him very popular among women... and men.

The team leader was a rather plump brown-haired woman. She warmly welcomed Lu Li to sit on her carriage, and talked about things that might interest Lu Li along the way.

For example, everyone who passes through the swamp knows the Ying Chuo and the Six-legged Sasquatch. For example, after traveling for three or four miles through the swamp, a community of abandoned wooden houses is vaguely revealed among the dead trees deep in the swamp.

"I heard that a long time ago, Shadow Swamp was not what it is now. At that time, some people lived in the swamp. Later, the wild became more and more dangerous, and the swamp was no longer suitable for living." The brown-haired woman said, staring at Lu Li in a daze.

's profile.

Then she felt an uncomfortable coldness coming from the corner of the car.

Lu Li nodded and said nothing. His dark eyes reflected the dark depths of the swamp, and the ancient, dilapidated wooden houses covered with green ringworms were deeply engraved in his eyes.

About 8 to 10 miles into the swamp, a convoy of five carriages and trucks slowly stopped.

This is almost the same horizontal coordinate as the Bloody Tentacle. You can find it by entering the swamp Luli from here.

The brown-haired woman gave Lu Li a simple walking stick and told him to pay attention to the swamp ground. Some places covered with fallen leaves that looked like the ground were probably bottomless swamps, which could swallow people up in an instant and were very dangerous.

"Thank you." Lu Li thanked him politely and accepted the cane.

"Then where can I find you in the future?" The brown-haired woman quietly stood closer, breaking the widely circulated distance etiquette between strangers.

After a brief silence, Lu Li said: "Belfast, the Bizarre Detective Agency."

He didn't hand over his business card because he didn't think he would have any interactions with the brown-haired woman in the future.

Also, the look in the other person's eyes made Lu Li feel troubled.

As we all know, Lu Li is afraid of trouble.

"I'll make a note of it."

The brown-haired woman reluctantly returned to the carriage, her eyes lingering on Lu Li on the side of the road, until far away from the carriage, the standing Lu Li turned into a black dot.

Lu Li withdrew his gaze, walked to the edge of the swamp road and looked into the distance.

Anna's figure floating next to her was revealed, and her eyes looked at Lu Li with a hint of sadness.

"Stop it! You are such a charming guy all the time!"

Anna wanted to say this, but she felt embarrassed to say it.

A thin layer of mist hung over the swamp, and blood-colored tentacles loomed in the mist, hanging down to somewhere in the swamp in front of them.

For the Shadow Swamp, which is nearly 50 miles wide, this is far from the center of the swamp, not even the depths.

In the scene in previous years, the swamp was full of green, trees blocked the sky, reeds as tall as a person were enough to make people get lost, and the lush plants and wild fruits were a paradise for any small animals.

But the climate has changed these things, and there is no trace of green in the entire dead swamp jungle. Only the occasional calls of frogs and unknown insects come from the gaps in the forest, bringing some life.

Twisted dead trees reveal criss-crossing roots, and the wet mud and water mix together to form a piece of land large enough for people to walk on.

The real rainy season has not yet arrived. When the storm comes, this place will become a land of marshes again.

Except for the swamp road standing at my feet.

And the green color that is hard to return to.

Lu Li's gaze continued upward, falling deep into the clouds. A gloomy cloud drifted from the east, as if a new rain was about to fall.

It didn't seem like a good idea to enter the swamp at this time. But it was also not a good idea to wait for this unknown rain to end - especially since Lu Li was going to live in Shadow Town.

"Let's go."

Lu Li said something and walked down the slope at the edge of the road, stepping on the mud floor covered with a layer of rotten leaves.

A soft touch came from the soles of his feet. Lu Li moved his feet and looked at the line of shallow shoe prints.

Can walk.

Anna floated behind Lu Li, looking around cautiously, gathering her breath, ready to pull Lu Li out of the quagmire at any time.

However, Lu Li paid careful attention to his steps and used a walking stick to explore the path. He was still fine until he left the swamp road and entered the rugged swamp jungle.

The natural light began to become weird, with mottled light penetrating through the gaps between dead branches, making the swamp a little dark. The mosquitoes I heard on the road before disappeared without knowing when, and the surroundings were quiet.

The dark and cold atmosphere could not shake Lu Li. He walked through the twisted and dry shadows of trees, occasionally looking at the sky in the dense jungle to determine the direction of the bloody tentacles, and continued moving forward.

This silence lasted for more than ten minutes.

The road under his feet gradually became difficult to walk. There were some puddles across the road. Lu Li, who didn't know the depth and true width of the puddles, had to take a detour or step on the crisscrossing tree roots.

Although Anna could use her ability to lift Lu Li and float him over, it would be a waste to use it on the road.

Among them, Lu Li didn't see a ray of green, nor any trace of insects, birds or animals.

Corrupt and lifeless, as if this swamp has been dead for a long time.

The cane poked into the fallen leaves on the ground in front of him, and the seemingly normal ground suddenly looked like a water ball, making waves.

Lu Li stopped and poked with his stick again.

I felt a trace of resistance on my palm, and the dark gray wetland a few meters ahead rippled.

There might be some kind of swamp underneath, or a pool of water under the grass.

While Anna was looking at it with some curiosity, Lu Li carefully walked around this area - it was bigger than expected. Lu Li walked around ten meters from the side before avoiding this trap.

Rustling——

Not far away, a sound like falling leaves being stepped on quickly reached my ears.

Anna turned her head suddenly, narrowed her clear eyes, and whispered: "Something crawled over!"

"Probably a small creature that lives in the swamp."

Lu Li's voice sounded nearby.

Anna looked around strangely and found that Lu Li had his back turned to the direction of the noise, looking like he didn't care.

Then she observed that Lu Li's right hand silently held the psychic gun at his waist.
