49. Swamp Chalet

Anna's naive idea did not last long.

In the dark swamp where it was difficult to distinguish the swamp from the land, a figure holding a cane walked along the swamp ground scattered like debris, leaving a line of shoe prints.

A translucent girl floated behind Lu Li. She turned her back to Lu Li and faced the way they came.

Dozens of meters away, behind several criss-crossing twists and turns, five six-legged savages kept their distance and followed them rustlingly.

In the past ten minutes, the number of six-legged savages began to increase until it turned into the previous scene.

They were as nimble as monkeys in the woods, with their six limbs crawling quickly together, and they landed behind Lu Li, seemingly waiting for the right moment.

She no longer thinks that these six-legged savages are here to repay a favor.

After stepping through a thirty to forty centimeter long ravine at his feet, Lu Li stepped onto a relatively complete piece of ground.

The surroundings were a little darker than before, and it seemed like it was going to be dark.

But it was not yet nine o'clock in the morning.

Lu Li raised his head slightly and looked through the dry branches that covered the sky. The dark sky was not only becoming crowded because of the twisted dead trees around him, but also the branches above his head became denser. The dark rain clouds coming from the east were about to reach the sky above the swamp.

The wind has picked up, and the upper branches sway with the wind, but only a weak air current can be felt on the ground.

Withdrawing his gaze, Lu Li used his cane to test the road ahead, and walked unswervingly towards the front where the bloodshot tentacles fell.

Gradually, some breeze began to appear on the ground, blowing Lu Li's hair. The stronger wind blew the branches, and the whistling sound echoed over the swamp jungle.

Anna couldn't help but raise her head, the pressure was extremely low, and the terrifying dark clouds that could not be seen were very close to the swamp. The densely emerging thunder snakes were surging in the clouds, but there was no thunder.

Compared with it, the other half of the sky is as gloomy as a sunny day.

Lu Li quickened his pace, no longer bypassing some shallow swamp mud, but walked straight through it with Anna guarding him, leaving a line of deep shoe prints that were instantly filled and covered by sewage.

The leather short boots under your feet have a certain waterproof function, but they cannot be used as rain boots. This kind of careless walking in water will keep the mud out of the shoes, but the water stains have already penetrated into the shoes, bringing a biting chill.

call--

The rising wind blew the dusty and rotting leaves, echoing the whistling sound above.

Lu Li passed by a place where the sky was reflected, and the relatively clear water was rippled with ripples of falling raindrops.

The first drop of rain fell.

Lu Li suddenly stopped, took the backpack he carried on his back, took out the black oilcloth poncho and put it on himself.

The six-legged savages who were always in pursuit slowed down and did not leave because of the coming bad weather. Anna faced them and guarded Lu Li, who was wearing a poncho.

Dark purple clouds have covered most of the sky, leaving only a small patch of sky lingering. The Shadow Swamp has become dark and gloomy, and the shadows of distant trees are hidden in the shadows.

Lu Li lit the oil lamp with a match at the same time, and a warm and faint yellow light came on, illuminating a small area around him.

Oil lamps are a must, even if the light may attract some unfriendly things.

"Should we keep going!"

Feeling the halo surrounding her, Anna tilted her head and shouted.

The howling wind is everywhere, and it is meaningless to stay quiet at this time, or you must be loud to communicate.

"It's too late to go back now." Lu Li's voice was as usual. If Anna hadn't been in ghost form with her sharp senses, she wouldn't have been able to hear what Lu Li said.

"We can go to that abandoned village!" Anna shouted, staring into Lu Li's deep black eyes under his hood.

Lu Li looked to the left. They were already deeper into the swamp than the abandoned village, but not too far away. If they turned to get closer now, they might be able to get close to the abandoned village before the violent storm arrived.

Lu Li analyzed quietly for a few seconds, then took steps again, but he was still heading forward.

"No."

He answered concisely and concisely.

It might be a good place to take shelter from the rain, but who knows if there are other things hiding in the wooden house...

"All right……"

Anna also realized that this idea was no better than rushing along while being exposed, so she turned to look at the six-legged savages who were following again, and followed Lu Li who was speeding up.

Anna could only hope that the rain only seemed to be heavy - otherwise they would be faced with more than just nowhere to hide.

There are also rising water levels, the presence of swamps, and darkness.

No one expected that the heavy rain would come so suddenly and unprepared.

Lu Li lit an oil lamp as a bright choice. As the last light on the horizon disappeared, a dark swamp was covered in darkness under the oppressive clouds. The lightning that emerged from the clouds brought a moment of light, revealing the outline of the entire swamp, before it lurked in darkness again.

"Those six-legged monsters are still following us... let's just kill them!"

Anna said impatiently. After losing her fear, she no longer had any fear of these six-legged savages.

"That's too late."

Lu Li, whose pace changed to a trot, said while observing his surroundings.

The rain was only sporadic. Raindrops as big as beans hit the water and made splashes, but they were still very sparse.

But that may not be the case soon.

If rainwater seeps into oil lamps and kerosene, everything will be ruined.

Lu Li was looking for a dead tree that was strong enough and a tree hole for hiding.

Anna noticed that after the oil lamp was turned on, some strange light spots like fireflies gathered around the oil lamp.

But these light spots attracted by the light of the oil lamp seemed to just float up and down around the oil lamp and ignored them.

Suddenly, the raindrops stopped falling, the wind stopped, and the swamp that was noisy a few seconds ago suddenly became dull and dead.

The light spots floating around the oil lamp seemed to sense the calm before the storm, gradually drifting away and disappearing outside the woods.

Lu Li also realized something, stopped paying attention to the terrain, and ran quickly.

Anna's telepathy was tightly attached to Lu Li, and she would immediately drag him out as soon as he stepped into the swampy swamp under the fallen leaves.

I don’t know how many times I did this, but when the raindrops started to fall, Anna suddenly pointed forward and exclaimed.

"There is light ahead!"

Twisted dead trees separated to both sides, and in the middle of a cleared clearing, a small wooden house with a bright window stood alone in the swamp clearing.

An inhabited wooden house appeared in the swamp. Both Lu Li and Anna noticed something strange, but they unanimously remained silent.

There is no other choice at this point.

The raindrops fell pattering down, blocking his vision, leaving only the noise of falling raindrops in his ears. Lu Li accelerated his speed and rushed out of the woods and a pile of wood piles, running towards the cabin.

Anna looked back at this moment, and in the sudden flash of lightning, the six-legged monsters stopped in front of the woods, as if there were invisible walls preventing them from approaching, and they were wandering restlessly around the perimeter unwillingly.

Anna consciously hid the ghost and followed Lu Li to the wooden house.

Lu Li raised his palm and knocked on the wooden door with his knuckles.

Knock knock knock——
