Two hundred and eighty-eight. It's dawn

There was no sound in the darkness that swallowed everything.

The darkness here is quiet.

The dead spirit gradually changed from doubt to anxiety, urging Lu Li to answer the riddle.

Lu Li's calm voice sounded from the darkness: "What will happen if you answer wrongly."

"Nothing will happen, you will just be sent out."

The undead didn't understand what he meant, but he still answered.

Fireflies, the moon, and the shilling.

The first two of the Ever Dreamer's three reminders have already appeared, and the remaining shillings...

What is expensive and worthless, precious and useless, everyone wants it but everyone hates its existence, turning the foundation into a building, turning the beach into a breakwater, and letting people repeat it every day?

Time answers, and so does the shilling, it seems.

"Then why are you telling me the wrong answer?"

"...I don't understand what you are talking about."

The old voice could not hide its panic. The undead spirit continued its fearful persistence. Lu Li stopped wasting time and answered the riddle:

"My answer is, shilling."

"No...you can't do this..."

Amidst the desperate cries of the undead, the mist-like darkness did not recede, and Lu Li did not leave the castle.

Nothing happened.

I guessed wrong. The third prophecy is not here. Is the undead right?

"Why...why..."

Repeatedly feeling annoyed and regretful, the undead spirit collapsed and told Lu Li that his suspicion was not unfounded.

Being in the darkness of nothingness, Lu Li could only answer the meaningless "why" of the undead: "When you have experienced many similar situations, you will be wary of seemingly friendly treatment..."

For example, Asammonsi, the dean of Giant Tree Academy, the illusion of Midnight City, the Rope of the Gods...

Lu Li once imagined that the sound was darkness, but now it seems that it is not.

"What's the answer?"

"I won't tell you anything...I won't help you with anything..." The old voice was depressed and low.

"Your body is in my hands."

The undead were indifferent to this: "Whatever you do... maybe that's also a relief..."

Frankly speaking, Lu Li had never seen an evil spirit so pessimistic - although it had never been so humane.

"You want to leave?"

In the darkness and silence, Lu Li's voice sounded: "I can take you away, but the condition is that you take me to find the darkness."

"...I don't need it, I just need to wait. I can still leave here after the darkness is out of trouble!"

The undead responded unconsciously.

"But there was nothing left in the world at that time except darkness."

What the undead don't know is that the world has long been shrouded in darkness.

Lu Li was not good at persuading, so he could only tell it the rules of the matter: "I will let you leave here after solving the original darkness. But if you refuse, you may be retaliated by the original darkness and never be able to leave, or you may get a life without hope.

The dark world."

"...the exorcists trapped me in the Exorcist Association and asked me to suppress the darkness...never care about me...you are also an exorcist, you are just like them, you are just using me..."

It is a good thing for the dead to tell a story about the past angrily, as it means the mood is loosened.

"Because the Exorcist Association at that time wanted to protect human civilization. Now there is no human being to protect."

Lu Li talked about the land of light and the chaos outside.

When the storm came, no crew member cared whether the deck was clean today. The undead felt that they would continue to be sealed because they threatened humans, but the fact was... there were not many humans left.

When the undead break away from the Exorcist Society, it's the monsters they have to worry about, not humans.

Silence enveloped this dark place again.

"...go down."

After a long time, a cowardly whisper sounded, and the yearning for the outside world suppressed the anger.

"The essence of darkness is at the deepest level..."

"Where is this?"

"...my true identity.

"

It took a long time for the undead to transfer its body, and it almost succeeded. "Will the darkness transfer its body like you?"

"Absolutely impossible...! Everything in the Exorcist Association is under my surveillance."

Lu Li returned the same way and escaped from the real shady scene, and continued to ask: "What will happen if I answer the time?"

"...I will be released."

Rather than suppressing the darkness, it is better to suppress the darkness and the undead.

The undead hides part of the truth: it and the darkness are tied to each other.

The darkness is imprisoned, and so are the undead. They are like prisoners and jailers who are also trapped in a prison. Shilling and time are two keys. One opens the cage of darkness, and the other opens the prison door.

Lu Li escaped from the darkness of the upper floor and walked along the stairs to the underground floor. The sound of moving came from the library, and the dead spirit said: "All the history of the Exorcist is treasured here, keep it well."

Arriving at the second underground floor that was not swallowed up by darkness, Necromancer said: "This is a warehouse. Many safe and non-distorted homologues are stored in it."

But when Lu Li avoided the trap under the guidance of the undead, obtained the hidden key and opened the door, the light of the oil lamp spilled into the dusty warehouse, and only the dark curtain wall squirmed in front of him.

Darkness has invaded this place and stripped it of its power.

"Young exorcist, you have to learn that you don't have to pay to get something..."

Lu Li didn't care. The gains he was accustomed to get from his hard work came to naught, and sometimes they literally came to nothing.

Continuing to move deeper into the Exorcist Association. When he was about to enter the deep darkness, Lu Li asked, "What is the answer to the mystery?"

"Don't you already know..."

“Why does The Exorcist use shillings for answers to its riddles?”

Sounds like something Hades would do.

“The more unexpected it is, the safer it is.”

Just as Lu Li couldn't imagine this was the answer, neither would the other intruders.

In the deep void, only dialogue represents Lu Li's existence. Without the undead to lead the way, Lu Li would not have found this place, nor would he have entered this void where all things have sunk.

As we get closer to the primitive darkness, the words of the undead become fewer and fewer, and in the end there is only simple guidance.

It may be worried about its unpredictable fate, or maybe it was infected during the time when it became a member of the Exorcist Association - when Lu Li heard "What is expensive and worthless, precious and useless, everyone wants it but

Everyone hates its existence, let the foundation turn into a building, let the beach turn into a breakwater, and let people repeat every day?" The riddle suddenly sounded, and he replied:

"shilling."

Katsa——

The sound of machinery operating came from the depths of the darkness that could not be dissipated.

"That piece of cloth is right in front of you..." A voice suppressing hatred sounded, "Use any method you want..."

"Destroy it!"

So Lu Li stretched out his left hand and touched the black curtain in front of him.

There were no echoes of death, no screams and wails, and an object quickly turned into ashes when Lu Li touched it.

"……it's over."

The surrounding darkness no longer solidified, and an old sigh echoed.

The mission that the Necrons had been performing since their birth disappeared.

What it bound, and the existence which had bound it, disappeared.

And in the distant land, the extended darkness faded from the end of the distant world, and gloomy dim light entered the window.

It's dawn.
