61. Shadows in the sky

The sound of gasping was scattered by the rain, and was swept away by the storm, disappearing without a trace.

During the storm, Lu Li, who was following the six-legged savage running through the swamp jungle, noticed keenly that the six-legged savage leading the way was approaching a straight line.

Go straight ahead, no longer avoiding swamps, only going around dead trees and intricate roots.

This shows that the swamp is getting smaller and they are closer to the edge of the swamp road.

Just when he was about to escape from the swamp, a strange scene suddenly appeared. Among the shadows of trees ahead, a dark spider with a huge belly and a body larger than a human hung down from a few meters away.

Lu Li's black eyes tightened, his feet stopped suddenly, and he reached for the psychic gun under his poncho.

"What's wrong?"

Anna looked strangely at the front where Lu Li was staring, seeing that there was nothing there.

"The illusion of another world."

The hanging spider is just a black silhouette, with four slender limbs about the height of an adult waving in front of it, entangling some invisible prey.

Lu Li bypassed this huge and numbing illusion and looked ahead, only to find that the figure of the six-legged savage disappeared into the rain.

"It's gone...?"

Anna turned around to search, and followed Lu Li in confusion as he continued to move forward.

The surrounding jungle began to become sparse, and after a few dozen meters, the vision suddenly opened up, with no twisted dead trees blocking the view.

They returned to the swamp road.

"We're out!"

Anna let out a cheer in surprise and followed them out of the swamp. The oppressive feeling that had not dissipated when they entered the swamp finally left.

Lu Li stood on the edge of the swamp road. Without the cover of the jungle, the storm became more violent. The rain was like beans, and the direction of the wind changed drastically. Sometimes it came from behind, sometimes from in front of him.

His body relaxed slightly, then tensed up again in an instant.

The danger was not completely gone yet. He was still nearly 10 miles away from Shadow Town, which meant that Lu Li had to walk for an hour through the dangerous swamp.

Unless a passing carriage shows up. But there is little hope. No one wants to rush in this horrible weather, even the meanest boss.

Walking onto the swamp road, the ground is no longer soft and muddy, and the hardness brings a sense of down-to-earth.

In the heavy rain, visibility was very low. On the straight swamp road, two figures walked side by side.

With her lace white dress fluttering and her short hair as silk, Anna's image remained unchanged despite the storm. She was counting in her mind. The increasing numbers gave her a sense of accomplishment that she was close to her destination.

Although very slow.

She was a little worried about Lu Li's physical condition, but she couldn't see any emotion on Lu Li's face, and his pace didn't change.

Frequent flashes of lightning are not good for the eyes, but they are better than nothing at all.

Rainwater flows into swamps on both sides of the road, but some water is still stored in puddles on uneven roads.

Lu Li lowered his head and walked around the puddle of water at his feet.

Under the flickering white lightning, the broken ripples of water reflected the scene above Lu Li's head. At that moment, Lu Li saw the reflection in the water, and an indescribable huge black shadow suspended in the sky.

Lu Li raised his head, narrowed his black eyes slightly, and looked at the sky behind him.

It was a ship, which at first glance looked like a shuttle-shaped hot air balloon. It floated in the air a hundred meters above the ground, sailing... in the sky at a speed of about eight knots.

"A ship...?"

Anna couldn't suppress the sounds of surprise and panic ringing in her ears.

This time it's not an illusion.

The direction of the wind was unpredictable, and it hurt when it hit his face. The considerate Anna arranged a piece of telepathy in front of Lu Li, and the falling rain seemed to be blocked by a layer of glass, sliding down in front of him.

The bottom of this ship is stained with rust. Its length of more than 20 meters is close to that of a medium-sized fishing boat that is a frequent visitor to Rodster Port.

Its speed is about 20 miles per hour, which is similar to the running speed of an adult male. The bare mast stands straight.

What is surprising is that this sailboat actually has an entity. When lightning strikes, the shadow of the ship will appear on the ground. Rainwater falls into the fishing boat and overflows from the edge of the ship that seems to be filled with rainwater, forming a water curtain.

As Lu Li and Anna watched closely, this strange ship, which had appeared under the clouds at an unknown time and sailed from an unknown place, passed above their heads, intersected with the straight swamp road, entered the northern swamp, and gradually disappeared.

Occasional flashes of lightning reveal smaller and smaller outlines.

"Where is this ship going...?" Anna withdrew her gaze and removed her telekinesis at the same time.

Although she can recover her strength outside, she will lose consciousness during the recovery process. If Lu Li cannot touch her, she may be left alone in the middle of the swamp road the next time she opens her eyes.

"Maybe Belfast." Lu Li recognized the general direction of the ship and noted the direction in which it was coming.

After returning to Shadow Town, you can use the map to determine its route.

The rest of the journey is back to hustling.

Lu Li lowered his head slightly, observing his surroundings, thinking about something in his mind.

The recent endless spate of weirdness seems to indicate that the world is getting worse...

I hope these are just accidents and not what I think in my heart: the world is getting worse.

Rainwater streamed down the windows.

On the edge of Shadow Town, there is a "pier" near Swamp Road.

Trucks were piled neatly in the open space on the roadside. Horses and some important cargo that could not be exposed to the rain were piled under the stables. Some workers hugged their shoulders and squatted under the stables to chat in low voices.

The tavern not far from the stables was in full swing. Commoners in commoners and rich people or nobles in expensive clothes were sitting around the table. The loud noise seemed to shake out of the wooden house.

On the outskirts of the tavern, in a small room closer to the swamp, a figure wearing a thin shirt was gathered around the stove, shivering and putting his palms close to the charcoal.

"It's really bad weather, isn't it?"

A slovenly middle-aged man put his legs on the table, holding a cup of steaming coffee, and looked out of the hut.

Just two people made this cabin crowded, and the windows on all sides illustrate the purpose of this wooden cabin: an observation post.

The young man by the fire kept complaining: "Several carriages have been blown apart, and I heard that there are houses in the town that have been destroyed... I wonder what those scholars do for food! The hurricane has blown into Shadow Town and there is still no news.

!”

The middle-aged man shook his chair gently: "This is normal, they always do this. Maybe those weather forecasts were written blindly while drunk, because sober people cannot do such stupid things."

The more the young man talked, the angrier he became, and he couldn't help but curse: "Old Joey's rheumatic legs can predict more accurately than them."

Snap——

The middle-aged man suddenly dropped his legs.

He looked at the two figures outside the hut in shock: "Someone is walking outside! They just came out of the swamp road, wait... They came out of the swamp road!?"
