124. Clothes, whales, and falling into the water

The wake spread out at the stern of the wooden boat, blending into the gray mist.

The unmanned wooden boat drifted forward quietly. Lu Li turned his wrist and kept quiet as it passed around.

After the fog shrouded the place, the small wooden boat seemed completely isolated from the outside world.

The Nikolai counter made a weak, slow, and uninterrupted rattle, which did not become rapid or disappear. The source of the decrease in sanity did not seem to be due to anything appearing around it, but from the fog.

There was no sea breeze or sound of waves, and the entire sea area was as calm as a windless lake.

The psychic gun in the holster was pulled out little by little, leaving the holster. The moment the senses spread out, the psychic gun was put back into the holster again.

For a brief moment, Lu Li felt a vague and abominable aura surrounding him, but there was nothing strange about it.

This is good news for Lu Li who is trapped on the vast sea.

But he still couldn't understand whether the abnormal fog came from the deep sea or the source of the hurricane.

Lu Li opened his mouth and bit the flashlight, picked up the sculls on both sides, and rowed towards the location of the three-masted sailboat in his memory with gentle movements.

The wood pulp disturbed the calmness of the sea surface, and the ripples moved in circles into the darkness where the oil lamp could not shine.

Time passed silently, and after a few minutes, Lu Li stopped rocking the oars. When he returned to the launch area, he stood up from the boat, holding the oil lamp high.

The dim yellow lamp illuminated the sea less than five meters away. There were no sailing boats, no shouts from the crew, and no strange ripples.

The barque has disappeared.

There was no sound on the dead, dark sea.

The sailboat couldn't have left so quickly. Something had happened or it had veered off course...

Knock---------

The counter that kept ringing on my wrist suddenly shortened the distance between the sounds.

With his dark eyes focused, Lu Li touched his waist and looked around cautiously.

Knock---------

The interval between the counters was indeed slowly shortening, and something was approaching the small wooden boat.

Something might emerge from the fog on the sea at any time. Lu Li no longer hesitated and pulled out his psychic gun at this moment.

An obscure aura emerged in my perception, not around me, but under the water. It was quickly floating to the surface.

The flashlight immediately shined on the sea, and in the dark water, a shadow silhouette was hovering around the ship.

It was a pair of light gray tattered clothes. It swayed in the water, vaguely forming the outline of a human being, as if there was something invisible to the naked eye wearing the clothes.

When the flashlight was shining on the strange clothes, the clothes suddenly rushed to the sea as if frightened, and the sleeves were wrapped around the wooden oar at the edge of the boat.

Lu Li suddenly stretched out his hand to grab the wooden oar, and held the psychic gun tightly with his other hand, pointing at the mass of clothes under the water.

No gunshots were fired.

As I sensed it, more dark auras suddenly emerged from the depths of the ocean floor and approached the boat on the sea.

Kick--kick--

The sound of the counter began to become rapid.

The force on the other side of the pulp was not strong. I watched quietly as the underwater clothes pulled the paddle, and then I suddenly let go of my hand.

Without Lu Li's restraint, Mu Pu was pulled into the water by his clothes, and the other wooden oar behind him was also dragged into the water.

The group of clothes that emerged from the dark sea bottom hovered, and the two wooden oars sank into the abyss-like sea bottom, disappearing from perception.

Knock---------

The rhythm of the counter returned to normal, Lu Li put down the psychic gun and retracted his waist.

He ultimately chose not to shoot.

It would be more troublesome to have the gunfire cause something strange than to lose the oar in the deep sea a hundred nautical miles offshore.

On the dead sea surface, the sound of gunshots can easily be heard for a mile or even further.

Lu Li sat back in the wooden boat. Ripples briefly appeared on the bottom of the boat and then disappeared quickly.

There was no breeze on the sea, making it difficult to drift with the current, and the boat without oars could not go anywhere. Now he could only wait for the fog to dissipate and for the three-masted ship to reappear.

If it never had an accident and never left.

The sea surface around the wooden boat reflects the light and shadow on the boat. The light of the oil lamp spreads on the sea surface, and is distorted and broken by the insignificant shaking of the wooden boat.

The brief calm did not last long. After a while, Lu Li found that the fog around him was becoming thinner.

He lifted the oil lamp and found that this was not an illusion because he was accustomed to the fog - the fog was receding.

The rattle of the counter became slower, the area illuminated by the oil lamp gradually became clearer, the rising sea breeze blew up the waves, and the gray fog that shrouded the surroundings dissipated.

Lu Li held up the oil lamp and made no sound. Beyond the small area illuminated by the oil lamp, a vast and rich darkness lingered.

In the vast deep sea, there is still only a solitary wooden boat.

At a certain moment, a melodious, desolate dull sound suddenly floated from the sea.

Lu Li turned towards the direction of the sound. The distant sound seemed to have been slowed down several times, like the slow sound of a whale.

The sound of whales echoing in the deep sea floats into the distance, carrying a pain and heaviness that makes people unconsciously feel sad.

Lu Li raised the oil lamp to the sea. Under the deep and dark sea, a thick and huge black shadow swam past.

laugh--

A water column rose from the sea not far away, and the seawater surged up like a fountain and scattered. Lu Li put on the hood of his raincoat, and the next moment seawater fell from the sky and scattered on the wooden boat.

Some dark and sticky black substance was mixed in the falling rain curtain. I don't know what it was, but it exuded an unbearable stench.

Lu Li thought of the news about a dead whale on the beach that he had read in the newspaper a few days ago, and understood the reason why the whale's voice was filled with pain.

Some of this black substance also fell on the raincoat, which was isolated from the skin.

laugh--

The blowhole spurted out water mist rapidly again, and the whale's screams became slower and slower, full of pain.

A silhouette suddenly appeared on the sea surface, the water slid away from both sides, and the whale surfaced on the surface.

This whale had long and narrow pectoral fins, and the small area that the oil lamp could illuminate allowed Lu Li to tell that it was a humpback whale.

It has barnacles that grow into pieces like eyeballs. But at this time, both the humpback whale's body and the barnacles are covered with a layer of dark oil-like substance.

The whale seemed to be on the verge of death. It was floating powerlessly on the sea, with large pieces of black material floating around it.

Lu Li suddenly realized something and looked underwater. Sure enough, the bottom of the boat was also contaminated with this kind of thing.

The whale's life had entered its countdown, and its body began to turn over uncontrollably, with its belly facing the water.

When Lu Li was thinking of ways to stay away from the whale carcass, something strange happened!

The humpback whale, with its belly facing upwards and the flame of life extinguished, suddenly rolled over. The rolling of the behemoth, which was more than ten meters long, made the entire water area restless!

The small wooden boat next to it suffered an unthinkable disaster. The tail fin of the wooden boat next to it smashed into the sea water, raising a large amount of sea water. The wooden boat was overturned in an instant amid the downpour. Lu Li, his backpack, and the oil lamp fell into the water together!

The oil lamp that fell into the sea flickered for a few times and then went out instantly.

The only sound left in the entire sea area was the sound of boiling and surging water.
