One hundred and ninety-one. Seven buildings

A few minutes later, a breeze blew through the dull shop.

"Only those two houses have problems, I can't sense the others." Anna's voice rang in her ears and was heard by others.

"So the other houses are safe?" Pulis analyzed.

Lu Li didn't think so: "Not necessarily, this can only mean that consciousness was born in only two [man-eating houses]."

Such as a coffee shop.

Before the consciousness of evil was born, Anna could not detect anything strange there. Only the high inspiration brought by his low sanity allowed him to hear the sounds coming from the house.

Pulis took the file from the team members and handed it back to Lu Li: "We will cooperate with you, what should we do next?"

"33 Elm Street, 63 Elm Street..."

Lu Li closed the wooden box, muttered to himself, raised his head and said.

"Go and take a look at No. 93."

93 Elm Street.

This is near the end of the street.

If the rain slows down, you may be able to see the edge of the elm forest a hundred meters away.

No. 93 was a private house, and there was someone at home. Lu Li didn't hear any whispers when he ran his finger across the door. After knocking on the door, the owner of the house appeared safe and sound behind the door.

A team member briefly explained the situation to the residents, and then went into the room with Lu Li to investigate. Lu Li did not hear any sound when he touched the wall, floor, sofa and clothes hanger, so the suspicion of this house was ruled out.

It seems the numbers on the first two houses are just a coincidence.

After leaving the normal house, Lu Li and others appeared on the street.

Pulis almost understood Lu Li's behavior, and his voice, diluted by the sound of rain, came: "It seems that we can only eliminate them one by one."

Lu Li nodded. When there was no good solution, he had to resort to stupid methods.

Not efficient enough, but effective enough.

In order to save time, the eight-person night watchman team was divided into two groups. Pulis led one group to notify the residents of the entire block and prepare for the investigation in advance, while the other group followed Lu Li for protection.

Starting from No. 118 at the end of Elm Street, Lu Li and others began to explore one by one.

From the beginning, the residents who had been notified had already opened their doors and prepared. The speed of exploration was accelerated. Lu Li was exploring down at the speed of one house in thirty seconds.

The unoccupied houses were marked by another group of night watchmen. Lu Li only scratched the door and left after hearing no sound.

At ten minutes, the owner of the seventeenth house, No. 101 Elm Street, was waiting in front of the door.

Passing by the reserved face of the owner of the house, Lu Li raised his hand and passed it across the door.

"Hehehe, it's so itchy..."

Amidst the sound of rain, faint and undetectable laughter could be heard.

Lu Li's dark eyes narrowed and he turned his head to look at Matthew who was following him: "The third one."

The third [man-eating house] appears.

Matthew understood and waved to the residents to leave.

Lu Li took another stone from another team member's hand, stood in front of the door and threw it into the entrance hall.

The stone fell to the ground and made a crisp sound. It bounced a few times and then rolled out and stopped moving. Lu Li held his breath and listened, and a curse came from the floor: "This guy actually hit me with a stone!"

Confirmed without a doubt.

Matthew asked if there was anyone else in the house, and then led the resident, who still didn't know what was going on, to the store they had commandeered.

In order to avoid disturbing the consciousness that has not yet awakened or been born, the night watchman did not inform them of the specific situation.

Two team members stayed behind to set up a cordon, and the last person followed Lu Li towards the next house.

85 Elm Street, Building 4 [Man-Eating House].

The family of three living here was picked up by Pulis who came to take them to the store. They had already notified all the residents in the block.

"Next room."

The two team members formed a cordon, and Lu Li, Pulis and others walked towards the next building.

41 Elm Street, Building 5 [Man-Eating House].

Pulis complained that his hands were too cold and motioned for the residents to leave, but was met with resistance - the couple refused to leave their home unless they saw the police - they had not seen and did not believe the identity of the night watchman.

Pulis thought for a while and asked one of his men to go to the nearby police station to find someone. He left the two of them guarding the door and accompanied Lu Li to the next house.

The bad weather made their actions much more concealed and would not attract too much attention.

10 Elm Street, Building 6 [Man-Eating House].

The owner of this household was a middle-aged man with considerable knowledge. When Lu Li and others arrived, he was already waiting under the eaves with a suitcase of luggage and his wife. They were sent to the shop by the night watchman.

No. 3 Elm Street, Building 7 [Man-Eating House].

Unfortunately, Lu Li and the others arrived late. When they arrived, Xie Wu's consciousness had already awakened, and the residents' clothes were vomited outside the door and soaked by the rain.

There was nothing strange here when the night watchman came to notify him ten minutes ago.

Within the first hour of the night watchman's arrival, all the houses in Elm Street were searched.

There are three evil creatures that have awakened, and four evil creatures that have not yet awakened.

"I didn't expect there were so many..." Pulis whispered, cold sweat mixed with rain, sliding down his forehead.

What's even more alarming is that they're the same evil. This usually means one thing: there may be more of them.

As Lu Li and others were walking back to the store, Pulis said to Lu Li, "I plan to apply for a survey of nearby neighborhoods. What do you think?"

They need to determine as soon as possible whether there are "houses that eat people" on other streets. If this phenomenon spreads - the situation will become extremely scary.

"Can."

After a brief reply, Lu Li continued to tear it apart.

Is the birth of these evil things related to the rain of mutation...

But the appearance of the first [Man-Eating House] has nothing to do with the Rain of Mutations.

In the requisitioned shop, the residents who were brought huddled in the innermost part of the shop, gathering together and talking in low voices. When the door was opened, the cold wind and the black figure walking in made them stop talking and look here at the same time.

"Are the people from the police station here?" Pulis asked a team member who was keeping warm.

"Well, I arranged for them to guard outside the seven houses where evil things appeared."

"Matthew, go contact the base and tell them about the situation here and ask them to send help." Pulis ordered his subordinates, took off his poncho, and sat by the window with Lu Li.

"What should we do next?" Pulis asked urgently.

"Do you know about pollutants?" Lu Li looked up at him and asked.

"Yes, this is the only knowledge we are allowed to know..." Pulis paused slightly and suddenly realized something: "You suspect..."

"The suspicion is high." Lu Li nodded: "Tell me about the pollutants."

Pulis took a deep breath.

A team member suddenly interjected: "But my pollutant detector did not alarm."

Lu Li's expression remained unchanged: "It doesn't take effect at any time, right?"

Pulis smiled bitterly: "Yes, the pollutant detector cannot detect pollutants that do not fluctuate, such as pollutants that do not reduce sanity."

[House that eats people] just doesn’t lower your sanity.
