221. Old Warm Street

The noise soon alerted neighbors and attracted the attention of patrol officers.

However, the situation did not continue to escalate. After the owner of the house, the neighbor next door, and the police who arrived discovered that Anna was a ghost, the situation was like a windless sea without any ripples.

Lu Li did not remember the address wrong, and the figure in the bird's beak mask could not have written it wrong, but this was indeed not her residence. The owner of the house also told Lu Li that this building did not have a basement.

Lu Li, who didn't know the name of the figure with the beak mask, couldn't ask and left the building with awe in his eyes.

Standing in front of the doorstep, Lu Li looked at the gloomy rain covering the sky and thought for a moment.

He didn't think that the beak masked figure was deceiving him or writing it wrong, so what would be the problem?

The trip to find the "windfall" came back in vain. After returning to the detective agency for a while, Lu Li picked up the letter again and opened it. He ignored the original content on the diary paper and looked at the address on the last line.

Although it is scrawled and there are traces of wrinkles due to rain, the writing is clear and there is no trace of smearing, and it is impossible to misidentify the numbers.

Tapping his knuckles lightly on the table, Lu Li put down the letter and picked up the phone to call Qiao Qiao.

The call was connected, but the person who answered the phone told Lu Li that Qiao Qiao hadn't come back yet. Almost half an hour later, the phone rang, and Qiao Qiao, who had returned to the college, called.

Lu Li directly asked her about the cozy neighborhood.

For example, are there other streets called Wenxin District, or streets commonly known as Wenxin District by the people.

The former Qiao Qiao told Lu Li that no, the latter did have two similar streets: Violet Street and Kezi Street - the people there are very good at maintaining neighborly relations, and every resident is as friendly as a friend, so they are jokingly called "

"Cosy" neighborhood.

This was obviously not what Lu Li was looking for.

The beak mask has a big figure. You can write the real address directly instead of using a metaphor.

But there are some possibilities.

For example, the figure in the beak mask is worried that some being will peek into the letter. In this case, it becomes necessary to use metaphor.

After thinking about the cost-effectiveness, Lu Li decided to visit these two neighborhoods. Anyway, he had nothing to do now.

The Violet Street District is in the middle of the city, and the Kezi Street District is in the east, not too far from Elm Street. Lu Li can stop by to look at the houses on Elm Street.

Lu Li and Anna, who was hiding his aura, first went to the Violet District, stayed briefly and then left straight away, taking a carriage to the Kerzi District.

Because there are no 16 buildings in Violet Block.

There are indeed 16 buildings in the Kurtz neighborhood, but it is a long house like the detective agency. The house numbers do not match and there is no basement.

After getting nothing, Lu Li went to Elm Street again and observed the two addresses provided by Qiao Qiao on the street.

They are all single-family two-story buildings. There is a residential house in the middle of the street. The owners are a loving old couple. They feel that it is too far from the city center and want to move to their son's residence.

There are also residential houses on the edge of the street, but they seem to have been used as warehouses. There are wooden boxes of different sizes and uncut logs piled under the walls of the houses.

This is indeed one of the transit warehouses for lumberjacks.

The two houses have their own advantages and disadvantages. The former can be moved in directly, and everything is prepared in advance. The old couple will only take away some personal belongings. The latter only has a single bed and dining table on the second floor, otherwise it is empty.

It looks like an abandoned house. But the advantage is that the space in the lobby on the first floor is very large, and when the weather is good, you can directly see the entire bay and the side of the cliff from the second floor.

Especially when the price is very low - this is the house on the edge of Elm Street. Although the mood of Elm Forest cannot spread here, no one can live here with peace of mind.

This was not a problem for Lu Li, so it was not difficult to guess where he would choose.

After waiting for a while, the owner of the house arrived. He was a middle-aged man with good intentions. He hid the secret of the Elm Forest from Lu Li and tried his best to persuade Lu Li to buy it for only 2,900 shillings.

The middle-aged man did not show greed in terms of price, but Lu Li could no longer afford so much money, and he would not spend nearly 3,000 shillings on it. So Lu Li only rented a house for 80 shillings a month.

The price of the order.

The landlord left the key and left. Lu Li stood in front of the "bedroom" window on the second floor and looked out.

Anna appeared from the side and took a look at the simple house with only a shabby single bed against the wall and a wooden table. She said with some resistance: "Are we going to move here?"

"Not yet."

Its purpose is just a warehouse - the supplies Lu Li purchases can be sent here and then transported up the cliff from here.

"Temporarily..." Anna murmured.

"As time goes by the danger increases, and sooner or later we have to move to the edge."

"Yeah." Anna nodded.

She had already prepared for it, but she was already used to things in the detective agency and it was hard to get used to them.

"Want to go see the cliff?" Lu Li turned his head and looked at Anna.

"Won't it waste time?"

"Nothing can be done with such heavy rain."

After thinking about it, Anna nodded slightly.

Without Barton's drag and initial caution, Lu Li Anna's speed was very fast.

The sadness and despair that permeated the forest of dead trees was stronger than in the past few days, but it became difficult to affect the forest. They still did not regard Lu Li as one of their own, but they no longer guarded against him as an outsider.

With Anna's help, it only took more than an hour to reach the cliff this time.

Anna and Annie came into contact, and Lu Li walked into the cave. It was still dry, there was no water seepage, and no rainwater poured into the cave.

Back outside, Anna excitedly told Lu Li that Annie's aura was getting stronger.

They successfully rescued Annie.

After accompanying Annie and saying some words, Anna reluctantly left the cliff with Lu Li.

An hour and a half later, Lu Li and Anna returned to the detective agency.

The detective agency has undergone some changes since they left three hours ago.

The sculpture stood behind the door, but her good arm was raised and pointed at the phone on the desk.

"You're alive?!" Anna shouted to the sculpture in surprise.

Lu Li walked to the desk and called the telephone department to ask if there was a phone open just now.

After getting the result, Lu Li hung up the phone and picked up the phone, dialing the dial to call Qiao Qiao.

Not long after they left, Qiaoqiao called.

After the call was connected, Qiao Qiao told Lu Li that she remembered that there was indeed a street called Wenxin Street before it was burned down.

For some reason, Lu Li felt that this was the place he was looking for.

After asking about the situation there, Qiao Qiao told Lu Li: "Due to a fire, most of the houses there were burned down and collapsed. There are only a few barely intact houses left but they should have been uninhabited for a long time...but there may be some scavengers."

People take shelter there."

"Where is it?"

"On the west side of the Black Cat Street, walk west along the Black Cat Street and you will see it."
