300. Where Oliver May Hide

Lu Li Qiaoqiao, who was scattered on the second floor of the police station, looking through his notes and drawers, raised his head and looked at the Sheriff's Office where the voice came from.

Through the blinds, they saw the man overturning the water glass, dipping it into the accumulated water and writing a line of writing on the table.

Looking at Qiao Qiao, Lu Li put down his notes and walked into the office.

"Who are you looking for? Maybe I can help."

After finishing writing the content with trembling fingers, the man retracted his fingers and looked up at Lu Li.

Lu Li turned to look outside the office. Qiao Qiao consciously walked to the corner and covered her body with her flesh wings.

Walking to the door and closing the wooden door, Lu Li turned around and said, "Oliver, you are not a resident here. You are the guide of the Eevee caravan. You have investigated the disappearance of the caravan before."

"Oliver..." The man lowered his head and recalled, and said slowly: "I did see him earlier."

"Found him?"

This was unexpected good news. Lu Li imagined that finding Oliver would be very difficult.

"Yes, we found him later and I may know where he is now."

"Where."

"The cellar of Murphy's restaurant. It's safe there and there's enough food. The person you're looking for is there."

"How do you know he's there?"

"I guessed it..."

Lu Li looked at the man calmly for a few seconds and then said, "How are we going to get there?"

The man seemed relieved, lowered his head, and his facial features were hidden in the shadows: "I will take you there, and in return, you have to take me out of here..."

"Okay. Get ready. I'll tell my companions." Lu Li nodded, opened the door and walked out of the police station office.

"He gives me the wrong feeling... Could he be using you to send him to the cellar?" Anna whispered in Lu Li's ear.

"False clues are better than none." Lu Li walked towards Qiao Qiao in the corner. The clues had been interrupted, and now they could only try their luck like headless flies to find Oliver's whereabouts. No matter whether the news was true or false, they had to try.

Walking up to Qiao Qiao, Lu Li said: "He may know where Oliver is, and we have to follow him next."

Qiaoqiao, who was taking off the meat wings, was stunned. After a moment, he resumed his movements. He did not speak, but nodded heavily and sniffed hard.

There was nothing to prepare. After Lu Li and Qiao Qiao finished talking, the man walked out of the Sheriff's Office and came to Lu Li's side.

Qiao Qiao stood on tiptoes and took off the old map hanging on the wall and handed it to Lu Li. Lu Li flattened the map on the desk in front of him, picked up the pen and drew a circle around the police station, then turned the pen and handed it to the man.

The man took the pen, looked closely at the map for a while, and drew a circle on the west side of the police station.

Murphy's Restaurant is also on Sansan Street, less than 300 meters away from the police station, which is the center of the town.

To go there, Lu Li and others would have to risk entering the center of the conflict and approaching the Shadow Swamp.

After confirming the location, Lu Li folded up the map and gave it to Qiao Qiao to keep. He walked to the window, opened a corner of the curtain and peeked out.

The dark red clouds were still raining blood downwards, and the sound of flapping wings came from the air from time to time, mixed with the inaudible sound of banging on the door downstairs.

The human-head balloons are still downstairs.

Behind the police station is Renren Street, where there are no smooth bluestone roads and old and disrepaired wooden houses stretch out. No matter how prosperous Sansan Street looks, it looks dilapidated, full of narrow alleys and dark blind corners.

It seems peaceful there, and there are almost no family members visible on the streets, but no one knows how many family members are hidden in the darkness.

Three-person Street is just the opposite. Although the family members are wandering on the street, the end of the wide street can be seen at a glance, and there are not many blind corners and darkness that can be hidden.

Qiao Qiao had the same opinion as Lu Li. Only men felt that a street of one person was safer, but his opinion was not important as he was always in hiding. Lu Li determined a route from the police station to the house next door, and then approached Murphy's restaurant on the street of three people.

Anna was not suitable to appear in the eyes of men, so Lu Li and the other three, unable to rely on Anna's power, went to the first floor of the police station, quietly walked through the chaotic scene, and approached the window.

There was no strange outline in the dark and damp alley connecting Three-person Street and One-person Street. Lu Li wanted to open the window, but the man suddenly pulled him gently.

"What are you wearing?" he wrote on the paper.

"Poncho." Lu Li answered as he took the pen.

The man didn't believe that this ugly and strange thing was a poncho. He believed that what Lu Li and Qiao Qiao were wearing was something that could protect them.

"Can you give me one?" the man wrote, his eyes falling on the fleshy wings and unable to leave.

"We don't have any extra."

"But I also..." The man crossed out and wrote below: "I will die if a monster finds out."

"If you need it." Before he finished writing, Lu Li handed the pen back to the man, and then began to take off his flesh wings.

"Mine is for you!" Qiao Qiao squeezed towards the two of them, grabbed the pen from the man's hand and wrote it down, then took off her wings and handed them to the man.

The man happily wanted to put it on his body, but when his palms felt the slippery and cold touch of the flesh wings, he overreacted and dropped the flesh wings, as if he were touching scalding boiling water, and distanced himself in fear.

"What is this?!"

The pen tip clicked on the paper, and the man turned over the notes to show them.

Qiaoqiao walked over and took the notes and pen and wrote: "Do you still want the wings of that thing flying in the sky?"

The man shook his head quickly, and the resistance on his face showed his attitude.

Qiao Qiao reluctantly picked up the meat wings and put them on again.

After the interlude, Lu Li opened the window, and the three of them got out of the quiet and safe police station and came outdoors, moving silently along the edge of the three-person street.

Rustling——

The six-legged monster covered in mud rustled across Sanren Street, got into a building with an open door, and disappeared into the darkness.

The three people hiding behind the trash can poked their heads out and resumed their movements.

"We've been here."

A few minutes later, not far from Murphy's Restaurant, Lu Li heard Anna's soft whisper in his ears.

Lu Li looked up at the shop sign: Big Wave Tavern.

The tavern where they stayed when they last came to Shadow Town, and at this time, the windows of the Big Wave Tavern were dark.

Passed quietly under the window and moved on. A minute later, the three of them arrived at Murphy's Restaurant.

After entering the alley, the three of them climbed through the wall and entered the backyard one after another. The soles of their shoes sank into the wet mud, and the strong smell of blood that filled the backyard entered their noses.

A mutilated horse corpse lay in the corner stable.

The man ignored the horse corpse, trotted to the mountain of firewood, pulled the pull tab of the wooden board on the ground, and opened the cellar door.

The smell of blood, which was stronger than that in the backyard, came out of the cellar. Qiaoqiao, who had just approached, frowned and backed away, pinching his nose under his fleshy wings.

"The person you are looking for is down there," the man wrote in his notes.

"There are no ghosts down there." Anna also whispered in her ear.

Lu Li turned around and walked to the stable, took off the oil lamp hanging on the pillar, returned to the cellar, lit the oil lamp, and stretched his arm into the cold and cold cellar.
