18. Farewell to Erin

Leaving the lively gate of the manor, the carriage drove on the quiet path along the Agate Lake.

This is not the way to leave. Before returning to the detective agency, Lu Li still needs to pay a visit to Tesla.

However, Lu Li was blocked from the garden by the closed door, and the windows did not let in any light. The guards guarding this area told Lu Li that Tesla had left home with his family and servants earlier today.

Lu Li probably guessed where Tesla was going - the shelter.

But Tesla shouldn't be so impatient.

Could it be that something happened before morning that Lu Li didn't know about?

In any case, Tesla's early departure foreshadows something, and Lu Li needs to act quickly.

Without wasting any more time, we drove the carriage back to the detective agency.

During their absence, Aunt Mary lit the stove, and the three tickets had been delivered by the postman and were lying on the desk.

"I bought some ingredients and they will be ready soon." The aroma of food came out of the kitchen, Aunt Mary in an apron said, while looking at the desk.

In addition to the ferry ticket, there is a large black raven and a package on the desk.

"I'm here to help." Anna said, emerging from the other world.

She knew that Lu Li didn't eat anything at Eileen's farewell party - just in time to learn how to cook from Aunt Mary.

"Contact Daisy first." Lu Li said, walking towards Raven in front of the desk.

Telephone lines have been restored in the Belfast area.

Anna dialed the dial, and Lu Li took off the note from Raven's leg. It contained Lu Li's performance and rewards in the "Shadow Town Incident", as well as his new title.

[The person who sounded the death knell of the evil god]

The title has no real effect and is similar to the title of nobility granted by the royal family, such as Viscount Rose of the Mountains Luna; Violet Star Count Roland.

Eileen holds the title she was awarded: King of Belkin Baker, which means the richest person in Belfast.

This title will follow Lu Li. When Lu Li appears at an exorcist gathering or his name is mentioned in a formal occasion, he will be introduced as: The man who sounded the death knell of the evil god·Senior Investigator, Lu Li.

In addition, his weekly salary was increased from Sh700 to Sh1,400.

Quickly skipping the summary of the event, his eyes paused slightly on the string of numbers at the end and looked at the last line of text.

[In recognition of your outstanding performance and the things you need, the raven has arrived.]

Lu Li was not in a hurry to open the package. He opened the brown paper bag on the dining table, tore off a piece of hot white bread and placed it in front of the raven, before tearing off the waterproof kraft paper outside the package.

An old holster and a Black Crow badge lay quietly in the box.

The former was badly worn and seemed to have been taken directly from a police officer who had worked for decades. The holster was accompanied by many strange scratches that were not human-like, and they combined to form a strange symbol.

When Lu Li picked it up, an emotion called "stability" grew in his heart, and the squirming, mud-like black projection outside the window actually dimmed a bit.

Only this effect can suppress the "hope" of the three roses to fully bloom.

Lu Li took out the suitcase placed in the corner of the bedroom. As the sanity counter slowly accelerated, he opened the suitcase and quickly put "Hope" into the holster.

The moment I held the gun, the counter's "clucking" sound made my scalp numb, but as the gun was put into the holster, the noise returned to a slow pace.

But this time, the sound of the counter that didn't disappear was not related to "hope"...

Seeing this scene, Anna lowered her eyes slightly, put back the phone, and said softly to Lu Li: "No one at the college answered the phone, and neither did she at home."

"Where does she live?"

Anna shook her head gently: "I don't know, but we don't have to look for him anymore. I think she will take care of herself."

Lu Li's dark eyes lingered on Anna, nodded, and looked at the last item in the box: the new investigator badge.

Lu Li took out the badge from his pocket. The three-eyed black crow badge lying in the box had already filled the second eye. Different from the copper-colored one-eyed black crow in his hand, the two eyes of the new badge's eye sockets had turned silver.

color.

The color of the eyes represents Lu Li's status as a senior investigator, and the increase in number represents Lu Li's promotion from "Exorcist" to "Demon Slayer".

The third empty eye represents the highest level, "Demon Hunter".

Lu Li was holding two badges. At this moment, the raven that was pecking at the bread crumbs suddenly let out a loud cry that was different from that of a crow. He pecked out the old badge in Lu Li's hand and raised his head to swallow it.

"..."

Anna quietly removed the protection from Lu Li.

Lu Li guessed that this was some kind of recycling method, so he put away the new badge, raised his arm, and the raven flapped its wings and landed on it, sending it out of the longhouse.

Returning to the corridor and walking outside the door, Lu Li suddenly realized that the simple doll next to the door was missing.

Maybe some kid who had forgotten about it took it.

Lu Li pushed open the door, and just as his inner thoughts emerged, a timid voice came from the other side of the corridor.

"Mr. Lu Li."

A little boy stood at the door of a room, holding in his hand the bear doll that had been placed by the door.

Lu Li remembered the little boy, the woman's child who knocked on the door and asked for some canned food the day before they left for Shadow Town.

The little boy walked up to Lu Li and held up the bear doll to cover his face.

"My sister asked me to give this to you."

Lu Li did not go to pick up the doll, but asked, "Is her illness cured?"

There was a moment of silence, and the little boy's raised hands quietly fell down, revealing a pair of red eyes, sniffing and saying: "Sister...went to another place..."

"Thank her for the gift."

Lu Li reached out and took the doll.

The little boy said nothing more, turned around and ran back to his home, and there was a sound of the door closing.

Lu Li lowered his head and glanced at the bear's button eyes before taking it back to the detective agency.

Anna didn't speak when she heard the whole process, and just looked at Lu Li quietly.

The food was ready in a few minutes. Taking advantage of the free time, Lu Li packed the clothes into the suitcase, along with the simple doll.

After buttoning up the suitcase, there was a sudden knock on the door of the detective agency.

After opening the door, Jojo and Fran appeared outside carrying backpacks and suitcases.

Lu Li asked Qiao Qiao why he came, even though he had already guessed it.

"I've thought about it, I want to go to the Lennon Islands with you!" Jojo said with a sunny smile, seeming to have gotten over Oliver's death.

"And me!"

Fran echoed loudly like a follower.

It is unimaginable that Fran, who is several years older than Jojo, actually became Jojo's "little brother".

"Um."

They arrived just in time. After packing up the cooked food, Lu Li and others left the detective agency with their luggage and got on the carriage.

Sitting in front of the carriage, Lu Li took a deep look at the longhouse, the place where he had lived since he came to this world.

"let's go."

Looking away, Lu Li pulled the reins, and the horse's hooves slowly led them away from Sailor Street.
