Seventy-one. Going to sea

The wooden boat drifts with the current, and then sails unswervingly towards a certain direction in the deep sea.

The coastline and the kneeling mermaid gradually disappeared from the eyes, becoming a deeper outline.

Lu Li didn't know what was waiting for him next.

His hesitation stemmed from his location, and what finally drove him to go to sea were the two tests: although they were strange and strange, they seemed to be telling Lu Li something, some truth.

He who sets the test does not look like an evil and terrifying person.

There was only one doubt - how Richard, who was just like him, could pass those tests.

No matter the first test or the second test, it is not like Richard, a mentally twisted lunatic, can successfully pass it.

Maybe he is different from the trials he has experienced?

Unfortunately, Lu Li knew very little about the "Body of the Ancient God" and it was difficult to analyze more information.

On the vast sea, oil lamps shrouded the boat, and it was wrapped in boundless darkness. The indescribable consciousness had dissipated, but there seemed to be a trace of traction, allowing the surging seawater to surround Lu Li and head to an unknown place.

Lu Li slowly looked around at the deep sea around him. When he was about two to three nautical miles away from the coast, he felt something strange in his peripheral vision.

A blurry picture formed in his mind, which seemed to be a figure covered in black robes sitting on a dark wooden boat. But when Lu Li looked over there again, there were only black waves surging.

It seemed as if what I just saw was just an illusion caused by the waves.

Lu Li didn't think so.

Maybe it's paranoia, but paranoia is very useful in the current environment.

For a period of time after that, Lu Li always paid attention to the direction where the "illusion" occurred.

Maybe it was a coincidence, maybe the previous scene was a sign. After ten minutes of the wooden boat floating on the sea, a wooden boat suddenly rushed out from the direction that Lu Li was paying attention to.

But unlike the dark outline that Lu Li had seen before, which almost blended into the color of the sea water, the wooden boat that emerged was the same as the wooden boat under Lu Li, and Richard was sitting on the boat.

Richard's wooden boat was approaching the mainland. Perhaps a collision would be more appropriate to describe it.

Lu Li subconsciously tried to control the direction of the wooden boat, but then he remembered that the boat had no oars and was not controlled.

The speed of the wooden boat was much faster than Lu Li imagined. Before he could do anything else, the wooden boat carrying a ferocious-looking Richard slammed into the side of Lu Li's wooden boat.

The wooden boat beneath him howled, and the impact nearly tipped the wooden boat over, and Lu Li was also thrown into the sea.

The oil lamp fell a few meters away and quickly sank underwater. The dark seawater surrounded Lu Li, and the cold touch made people subconsciously stop breathing.

With a large number of bubbles surrounding him, Lu Li adjusted his posture and swam towards the sea surface.

But when he was about to surface, Lu Li suddenly realized that he could breathe in the sea.

Lu Li inevitably choked into the sea water when he fell into it. The feeling was usually painful and uncontrollable. But at this moment, Lu Li didn't feel any pain at all.

After a brief pause, Lu Li suppressed his subconscious warning to his body and breathed in the seawater——

His lungs were not filled with cold sea water, and his trachea was not violently resisting the influx of pressure. Lu Li really started breathing under this deep ocean.

This scene that undermines common sense is like a dream.

Lu Li thought thoughtfully, sea water will not hinder breathing, then...

Lu Li, whose black hair was flowing underwater, lowered his head and looked at his feet.

Under the surface of the sea, the dark and lightless abyss wants to choose people and devour them.

Lu Li saw the oil lamp, which was slowly sinking. The firelight in the glass cover flickered like stars before disappearing into the deep darkness.

The only light on the bottom of the sea disappeared.

At the same time, the consciousness that once called Lu Li came from the abyss below.

It's just under the water.

thump--

Richard, surrounded by bubbles, suddenly fell into the sea water. He turned to look at Lu Li, unable to distinguish the emotion in his eyes, and swung his limbs like a fish and swam towards the depths of the ocean.

Richard felt the same call. It was as if he had been looking for the source of the call and couldn't wait to get there.

Lu Li, who was about to surface, narrowed his dark eyes, turned around and swam towards the abyss behind Richard.

There was no sign of life in this deep sea area. As he dived into the deep water, the surrounding brightness decreased at a speed visible to the naked eye. It was a darkness that was purer than darkness. But Lu Li could still see things, and the disaster of night seemed to have difficulty affecting this place.

This reminded Lu Li of his experience on the souls' return ferry. They were somewhat similar, but he didn't know if they were related to each other.

Richard below swims very fast. He has lived in Belfast since he was a child, and his water skills are certainly not bad.

Lu Li could only swim briefly, but the added weight of the woolen coat after absorbing water allowed him to keep up with Richard's diving speed.

As time goes by, the surrounding dark seawater falls into absolute silence, and the wind and waves on the sea cannot reach this place.

Without a reference object, it was difficult for Lu Li to judge the depth of the sinking. It could be hundreds of meters or deeper.

This deep sea is lifeless and everything is like nothingness. The depth seems to have no meaning, along with time and meaning itself.

Richard swam tirelessly towards the abyss. The cloth wrapped around the gunshot wound on his leg had disappeared a few minutes ago, and traces of blood seeped from the wound and merged into the sea water.

His speed is becoming slower and slower, and his smoothly swinging legs are becoming stiff and wooden like a rusty machine.

They don't know how far they are from their destination.

Just when Lu Li thought that Richard might not be able to hold on for too long, a strange round stone pillar covered by mud and standing abruptly in the deep sea appeared in front of him.

Outside Shouwang Town, a temporary resting place was crowded with people fleeing from the other side of the mountain.

Only a small half of the people stayed in Watch Town, and more people who were in fear did not dare to stay in Watch Town and continued to flee down the mountain.

At this time, a panicked crowd gathered together. The mother held her crying child, and the separated relatives shouted each other's names.

And people who are screaming about what's going on in Belfast.

"Tsunami! Tsunami hits Belfast!"

"It's terrible...waves of more than ten to tens of meters..."

"It's a monster! I saw the monster rushing out of the sea and killing people on the shore!"

It was hard to hear their mixed shouts, and it was hard to tell who was telling the truth. But no matter what, something happened in Belfast.

Outside the resting point, two police officers next to each other were talking in low voices.

"The smoke... seems to be in the direction of the lunatic asylum? What's going on there?" the young police officer whispered as he looked at the black smoke to the west.

"You still have an insane asylum that was abandoned long ago by air traffic control?" the middle-aged police officer beside him sneered.

What he said was right. The young police officer withdrew his gaze and looked at the top of Sugard Mountain: "Will the disaster over there spread to us?"

"Who knows...I just went home and told my wife and children to pack their luggage."

"You want to escape?" The young police officer frowned.

The middle-aged police officer nodded at him and pointed at Sugard Mountain: "If Belfast fails to stop the disaster that is happening, what can we do?"

On the mountain he pointed to, the crowds were still like ants, turning into countless black spots and swarming down the mountain.
