137. West Hills Gathering

Investigators went to the excavation site in the Tashofik area to investigate.

Two episodes occurred during this period: a dozen workers' wives or brothers and an exorcist tried to enter the gray fog. Before disappearing, the exorcist said that he did not feel the evil breath from the gray fog, but that it made people feel evil.

He felt uneasy and empty.

Another episode follows the exorcist's disappearance, when a grieving worker's wife climbs into a hanging basket leading to the bottom of the excavation to die with her husband.

When the people guarding the excavation site reacted, the hanging basket had already rushed in and waved. They tried to pull the hanging basket back, and were surprised to find that the worker's wife was still in the hanging basket, holding her knees and shaking.

The next day, the investigator arrived, who was Kig Foley's brother.

He asked the frightened worker's wife, but only received fragmentary information, such as the surrounding area seemed to become empty after entering the gray fog, a roar like a wild beast echoed far below, and the sound of many people gathering together and whispering.

Knowing that entering the gray fog from other places may be dangerous, Kig Foley's brother chose to enter the gray fog in a gondola. In order to restore the experience of the worker's wife to the greatest extent, he did not even bring an oil lamp and was sent into the gondola.

Gray fog.

Like the exorcist and the worker's wife who had lost contact previously, the first thing the investigators who entered the gray fog area felt was the emptiness inside. Even the slightest sound would trigger a valley-like echo that spread far away. And the visibility

The extremely low gray fog also made it difficult for his vision to reach more than ten meters away.

The investigator felt that the recovery room seemed to be another world. An empty, dead, and lifeless world.

He had to stay as quiet as possible and listen to the sounds in the fog.

Investigators began to hear strange echoes of the whispers of many people. The source seemed to be from below, but they could not be determined.

As the gondola penetrated deep into the gray fog, the whispers soon began to be replaced by what the worker's wife described as "a roar like a beast." Rather than the roar of a beast, the investigators believed that these were the sounds made by many strange things. They came from the gondola.

It came from the abyss unknown how far below.

The hanging basket advanced to a distance of about three hundred meters, and the strange sounds gradually faded away, and were replaced by a heavy, slow heartbeat that echoed in the gray mist.

The investigator found that his heartbeat rate was being infected by the dull heartbeat sound and became slower.

The gondola advanced to a distance of about five hundred meters, where the investigator took the initiative to stop the gondola and determined that the gray mist was probably no longer the original world.

The distance from the edge of the excavation site to the bottom of the pit is about 430 meters, and the investigator who has already traveled 500 meters in a gondola has already passed the bottom of the pit - his current location should be 50 meters below the ground.

Moreover, the sound of the heartbeat faded away, and what was approaching again this time was a sense of peeping that seemed to be absent.

The beings in the gray mist had already noticed his intrusion.

The investigators who sensed the danger stopped going deeper and began to pull the gondola back along the original route.

The sense of voyeurism never disappeared, the heartbeat, strange noises, and whispers on the road no longer sounded, and in the silent gray fog there was only the sound of pulling the hanging basket.

However, Kig Foley knew about the incident, which means that the investigators returned to the ground safely.

After returning, he wrote down the information and started exploring for the second time the next day. However, this time he just entered the gray fog and those senses of voyeurism suddenly came over him.

They remember the investigators.

After a brief hesitation, the investigator chose to exit the gray fog and stay at the excavation site for observation.

On the fifth day, Kig Foley's brother learned about the origin of the excavation site. During this period, he once let brave workers ride in a gondola into the gray fog. Their experience was the same as his first time entering, and they all heard many whispers.

Voice.

During the observation period, there was no sign of the fog spreading, but late at night on the sixth day, the sling leading into the fog suddenly trembled, and the shaking frequency became more and more frequent, as if something was crawling out of the fog along the sling.

The frightened guards woke up the exorcists, and they cut the hanging rope. The rope twisted like a living thing and was drawn into the gray mist, restoring calm.

Kig Foley's brother observed the excavation site for another week. As the suspension rope that was the only way to the gray mist world was disconnected, everything returned to calm.

The investigator stopped observing and sent the incident records to the investigator base.

"The final result of the investigators was that the excavation site was marked as a dangerous area, and the residents of Black Gold Town, which was less than ten miles away, were moved to Ryalstan City, which is sixty miles away."

After Kig Foley finished telling the story, he picked up the cooked spinach soup and took a sip.

"This can't be considered a story." Ma Fulin glanced at Lu Li who was thinking, and said to Kig Foley.

Kig Foley said nonchalantly: "We are all exorcists. Aren't weird events more attractive to us than stories?"

"Who told us stories at the last party?" Ma Fulin asked with a smile, looking at Rod Tesla: "Then it's my turn next?"

Rhodes casually leaned against the warm rock and said, "Whatever."

"In Wayne's Ford County, northeast of the Kingdom of Allen, there is a story called Sarah and Adam's Death Arena."

Lu Li in the wheelchair and Anna under the cloak were slightly startled at the same time.

The swaying bonfire covered up Lu Li's slightly frowning expression. Only Rhodes, who was interested in observing Lu Li, noticed something.

As evil spirits, their existence can be traced back two hundred years ago. They may not be notorious in Wayne's Ford County, but they are very easy to make people talk about them.

They wander around Wayne's Ford County, occasionally appearing and occupying unowned houses, and then begin their game: the Death Arena.

The innocent victims who are captured will be locked up in houses and participate in their games.

The game played usually changes depending on the type of house. If it's an ordinary house, the game type is simple hide and seek - maybe the victims are playing by themselves, maybe Sarah and Adam are joining in...

Whether it's a factory or a larger building, the game type will also change. It's usually a simple game with a weird twist: clean the house and find specific items within a certain time.

The reason it's called "Sarah and Adam's Death Arena" rather than "Sarah and Adam's Death Game" is because the victims need to compete against each other.

The person with the best performance will be saved from death and out of the game.

Of course, sometimes accidents happen, such as no one surviving without the best player, or multiple people leaving the game.

That's why they're more famous - if there was an evil spirit that people encountered and couldn't survive, no one would know about it.

This is also the essential difference between evil spirits and evil spirits. The former are full of unprovoked malice towards humans, while the latter do not target humans, they just use humans as...playthings.

It sounds like the latter is worse, but for humans who encounter strange things, they would rather become playthings to survive.
