One hundred and forty-eight. The strange fog that shrouded

In the distance, uneasy and regretful people left the convoy one after another and headed to the farm to avoid possible dangers. But not everyone could arrive safely. Many isolated fires extinguished on the flat field, and then stopped lighting up.

The farm only has a two-story wooden house, a barn, a cowshed and a woodshed, which obviously cannot accommodate hundreds of people.

Most people gathered around the bonfire to warm themselves up. Gradually, faint cries spread in front of the bonfire, for the invisible hope and for the family members in the royal city.

In front of the second-floor window of the wooden house, Lu Li and four exorcists were talking.

"A city with an upside-down sky...? I haven't heard of it either." Alvar Montes looked at the other confused exorcists, his mood sinking to the bottom: "So the situation in the Royal City is very bad."

Weird people are invading the royal city in large numbers. This is really bad news.

"We still have a chance of winning." Determination reappeared in the eyes of an exorcist: "There are at least half of the exorcists on the mainland in the royal city. They will find the trouble and solve it."

This kind of optimism usually occurs among civilians who know nothing about weirdness, but it makes sense in a way - human fists will clench together, weirdness usually does not.

The exorcists did not refute him who wanted to improve his morale, but a question arose deep in their hearts.

What if that’s where the weirdness comes from?

Woo——

The whining wind blowing through the corners and cracks heightened their mood.

The wind has risen.

Lu Li's eyes were attracted by the flames blowing crookedly outside the window.

The wind blows from the direction of Allen Peninsula in the south, which is the coastline closest to the Royal City.

The reason why the strange fog will break into the interior tonight has been found.

The wind gradually increased, and the exorcists who had not found any useful information returned to the open space to evacuate the crowd. They took the elderly, women and children into the two-story wooden house, placed the horses in the cowshed, and the men took their luggage and hid in the barn. There

There is draft everywhere, but it's better than an open space without cover.

Bonfires in open spaces connect people hiding in wooden houses and firewood sheds. If they are extinguished, they will become isolated and helpless islands in the dark and deep sea.

They had to keep the bonfire burning. The kerosene carried in the convoy was enough to last them until dawn, but it was not suitable for burning.

The young men dismantled the woodshed and useless debris in the wooden house, found hundreds of pounds of damp wood and more than a dozen pounds of coal from the basement, and kept the bonfire going. Two more carriages were pulled up to block the bonfire and let the people go upwind.

It's as stable as possible and burns longer.

The attic became a gathering point for the exorcists, and the sloping windows on all sides allowed them to observe the outside world well.

They were in a low mood. The only thing they were happy about now was that the strong wind had thinned the strange fog. The dispersed visibility allowed people to vaguely see the lights a mile away from the farm, which were coming and were dizzy like ants due to the strong wind.

Amid the surprised gazes of the exorcists, Lu Li and his assistant suddenly left the wooden house and moved outside the farm, towards the group of light spots that flickered weakly due to the strong wind.

They watched the same faint light point approach other light points, moving them with them, converging, and bringing the scattered light points together.

"Thank you, you have done enough." Alvar Montes was grateful for Lu Li's actions. When Lu Li and Anna came back, they were followed by several carriages and dozens of people.

There were still people scattered in this wilderness, but without light, Lu Li could not find them.

Further away, the convoy on the road was dispersed by the strange fog and strong wind into a group of horse-drawn carriages.

These people were arranged in wooden houses and barns, making the farm even more crowded. No one disliked it, they wished the farm would be full, and then they worried about whether too many people would attract those monsters.

The newly joined people quickly calmed down due to the comfort and care of the first group of people. There were faint sounds of conversation in the barn and the living room of the wooden house. In the attic above them, the exorcists were discussing whether the farm was safe.

The danger originated from King Allen's City - the farm was only five miles away from the King's City, which was neither too close nor too far away.

"Are there other houses nearby?" Ava Montes asked.

A night watchman unfolded the map obtained from the people: "Fourteenth Farm is more than ten miles away from us. It is far enough, but too far."

The more than 200 people in the farm who believe in them may not be willing to follow them, and there are not enough resources to move.

"Then we are still staying here, but we are just prepared to retreat to Farm 14 if the weirdness spreads in the royal city?" Alvar Montes had better turn his questioning eyes to Lu Li.

"Okay." Lu Li in the wheelchair raised his hand and touched his eyelids.

"Are you sleepy?" Anna asked with concern.

"There are some."

Anna's cold words came from the cloak: "Sorry, we have to go back and rest."

A middle-aged female exorcist nodded: "Of course, please leave the night to us. If there is a difficult problem that cannot be handled, we will call you two."

The farm owner's room was assigned to Lu Li and others, while Lilia chose to stay downstairs with other people.

Although it is the best room in the farm, there is nothing here except wooden frames and a thick layer of dust.

Not long after, there were three footsteps walking down the attic, and Lu Li also fell asleep in the wheelchair.

As midnight approached, the buzzing chatter downstairs gradually faded away, and was overshadowed by the whine of the wind blowing through the branches outside the window.

"I miss my mother..."

A little boy shrank into his grandfather's arms. Grandpa patted his back and said nothing.

"I miss my dad too...and sister Maria." The little girl, who was lying in her mother's arms not far from her grandfather and grandson, followed.

No one in the living room could fall asleep. More and more children and old people woke up, opened their eyes and listened quietly, or asked their elders.

The collective mood aggravated their uneasiness, and they found Alvar Montes and asked about the current situation in the royal city.

"I don't know either." Alvar Montes sighed, pointing to the hazy light behind the mist in the distance: "Did you see that fire? The convoy is still blocked outside the royal city, and the city gate must not have been opened yet. Compared to

They and we are already lucky. At least we won’t be blown away by the cold wind and have a warm and safe house to live in.”

"How's it going?"

"What happened in the royal city?"

The old women asked all kinds of questions, and Alvar Montes said bitterly that they could not leave the farm because dangers could be seen everywhere in the thick fog.

So they wanted to plead with Lu Li again, hoping that he could help them investigate.

Alvar Montes could not persuade these people who appealed to pity. Just as he was about to say something, the bedroom door suddenly opened.

"I heard what you were talking about."

The wooden house became quiet, and more than a dozen eyes looked at the cloaked figure in front of the door, waiting for an answer.

"But why do you think we will take a second risk?" A chill seemed to spread from the bedroom, and the shadows under the cloak looked around at these people.

"For you."
