214. The safest place

【Belfast】

【A commercial city, port city, and tourist city】

[Standing on the top of Sugard Mountain and looking down, you will see one of the most beautiful scenery in the world: the neatly stretched panorama of the city, the bustling and busy port, and the beautiful sparkling bay]

[There are also the elegant, dignified, gentleman, beautiful or handsome neighbors on the Agate Lake]

The flyer with the contents of the past passed past Anna's eyes. After it left, a dilapidated, gray, and ruined building was revealed.

Under the thick clouds, the lead-colored sea surface surges. Farther away, a black sun hangs in the void.

In the past, when Anna went to the beach in Oak Forest, she would move along the coastline. However, this time she moved across the ruins of Belfast instead.

Of course, she will avoid obvious danger areas, such as the wreck area where fallen rusty ships form a forest, and the ember area where snow-like ash falls day and night.

Small prowlers are wandering in the streets ahead. They are the lowest predators in the city, and have strong curiosity, or desire to eat - their first reaction is to bite anything they see.

One bite.

Prowlers were the name Anna came up with because they were almost never seen stopping, always like the gears on an alarm clock never stopping. Anna was not sure if they had appeared in other places, but when Lu Li sold them to merchants as information, they

The information is exchanged for 70 investigation points.

They occupied several blocks outside the Elm Street in a group. Anna hunted several times but failed to find any chance of them being alone. When a prowler was alone a few days later, Anna caught and killed it.

They are weaker and more fragile than imagined. They do not have a hard carapace, and their outer skin is even softer than skin. When you touch them, you will see ripples in the fat under the skin.

It wasn't fat. When the invisible dagger slit its throat, thick, rotten flesh and pus burst out from under the skin.

When the fluid under the skin drains away, a balloon-like prowler with only one layer of skin is left.

Even without a sense of smell, Anna can feel the disgusting stench emitted by this thing. She also knows why the weak Prowler community can occupy a position.

They're like walking rotten meat. There's no weird thing to mess with, except for the unique taste.

Anna has not entered the other world. The ghosts in the other world will find each other, which means there is no cover and is meaningless.

She didn't come to get through Belfast safely.

As she went deeper into the ruins of the city, Anna saw more sights that she had never seen before. For example, buildings covered in countless disgusting sarcomas, or wooden houses with dense holes dug out, and bizarre sacrifice scenes: withered bones and quilts.

He posed in a weird posture, facing the steps piled up by the wooden frame.

Anna avoided that place far away.

The test questions that Lu Li once encountered when taking the investigator assessment strangely appeared in reality - a pink and polished little girl was wearing clean clothes and wandering on the ruined streets.

It might be an evil spirit, or it might be another weird thing disguised as a mimic. In short, Anna observed it from a distance and bypassed that area.

Except for the inevitable avoidance of some particularly dangerous and weird areas, Anna remained steadfast on her route - twenty minutes later, she arrived at Sailor Street.

Once upon a time...home.

The appearance of the longhouse remains unchanged and was not destroyed by the spreading fire. However, the wooden door is missing. It may be that it was knocked down when the residents fled or something else.

Anna walked into the silent corridor. The door of the detective agency was open, broken wood chips were scattered on the ground, and the house was full of messy rummaging traces.

Someone once broke open the wooden door and rushed into the detective agency to look for something. It must have been done by the survivors, because some ingredients in the kitchen that could not be taken away were missing.

In the quiet long room without a trace of sound, Anna silently walked into the bedroom of the detective agency, sat on the bed that was so humid that water could squeeze out, and then tilted her head to look at the living room as before.

Here you can directly see Lu Li behind the desk.

In a daze, she seemed to really see Lu Li sitting behind his desk reading quietly. The light outside the window shone in, and the noise of passers-by and wheels rolling by was heard.

When Anna came to her senses, there was only deserted darkness and chaos in front of her.

Missing her so much that Anna couldn't wait to return to Lu Li, but then she suppressed it and left the longhouse to go to the other side of the ruins of Belfast.

As Anna carefully observed, the traces left by the survivors became visible everywhere. After all, except for humans, no monsters could cook food or use fire.

But their whereabouts are a mystery.

Maybe there are still survivors struggling to survive in these ruins, or maybe they couldn't escape death due to the strange raging.

Avoiding dangers and dark corners where people spy on the outside world, Anna arrived in the Oak Street neighborhood.

The oak forests in the distance have also been dead for a long time, but they are not as extremely repellent to outsiders as the elm forests on the other side of the ruins of Belfast.

After walking for some distance through the sparse forest, traces of felling began to appear, and they became more and more numerous.

Almost all the oak trees near the coastline were cut down to make wooden boats. Now those wooden boats are abandoned on the beach. The pagans have completed their mission and left, and the wooden boats are useless.

Messy, dense swirl-shaped footprints only remained in the woods, and the traces on the beach were erased by the storm. Except for a dozen wooden boats, nothing remained on the beach.

Anna entered the other world and looked at the isolated island deep in the sea.

She couldn't sense the ghost's breath. Maybe she was too far away, or the deep sea stone blocked the breath, or the pagans took away the "prisoners" of the ghost prison.

Anna preferred the latter because she didn't notice too many ghosts along the way.

This thing was so weird that she had to go and have a look.

No longer covering her figure, Anna flew along the dark sea surface at low altitude, approaching the island where the ghost prison stood.

The color of the sea water is deeper and darker, and even the white waves splashing on the surrounding reefs cannot cover it up.

Anna saw the prison standing on the top of the island up close. It was as mottled as an ancient city, with dead seaweed and dense conch shells hanging on the walls.

Those are all deep sea stones...

Anna knew the material of the thick black walls when she saw them. The entire prison was luxuriously built with deep sea stones, and the ghosts were shut in the sealed prison. But now it is no longer complete, and the walls

The upper part revealed a deep hole that had been forcibly opened.

She couldn't feel any ghostly presence.

The prison should be empty, but Anna didn't come near. She gathered up the broken deep-sea stones and took them back to the top of the cliff.

Lu Li will like these things.

After Anna left, the island was again occupied by the sound of waves day and night. The sea breeze blew past the entrance of the cave, as if there were deep sighs scattered by the wind.
