Two hundred and eighty-five. The exorcist tells the final answer

The campfire dimly illuminates the surroundings.

Something is surging in the mist, and it seems to be brewing.

Lu Li filled in dry firewood and sparks flew out.

The wind in the wilderness blew through the edges of the rocks and sounded together with the crackling of the campfire.

There are dangers everywhere in the strange fog.

People on earth remember this.

The sound coming from the mist cannot be covered up even in the quiet time.

From afar, the melodious reverberating sound of a ship's whistle was heard. It was unidentifiable, the sound of two voices whispering to each other. A strange sound like the roar of a jackal passed overhead.

Subtle footsteps came closer and closer from the fog. Lu Li thought it would just pass by like other noises in the strange fog, but it got closer and closer.

A pair of dirty feet appeared at the bright edge of the campfire.

Lu Li watched quietly.

The owner of the foot did not come closer, and sat down on the edge, revealing a pair of skinny arms.

More torsos were shrouded in darkness and fog, making it difficult to see clearly.

Perhaps the darkness has no other body, for its outlines are as insubstantial as the mist.

Wow

The slender palm shaped like a withered claw scratched the ground, picked up a pile of gravel and sand, and sent it into the darkness where the head seemed to be.

There was an eerie chewing sound coming from the fog.

A few seconds later, the withered claw scratched the ground again and entered the mouth.

Gulugulu

A can rolled past the campfire and fell into the ravine made by withered claws.

The Exorcist Manual strictly prohibits interaction with beings in the fog. Fog represents the unknown, and the unknown represents danger.

Withered claws emerged from the darkness, picked up the can with two knuckles, and sent it into the darkness.

The heartbreaking sound of metal deformation came from the fog and lasted for a while. The withered claw emerged, spread out and landed in front of the ravine, waiting for something.

Gulugulu

Lu Li sent another can.

After more than ten seconds, the withered claws spread out.

Lu Li delivered cans one after another until the last can rolled into the mist in front of him.

It picked it up, but didn't eat any more. It held something in its other withered claw and put it in the ravine, then stood up and retreated into the mist.

The surging mist filled the strange vacancy, and calm returned before the campfire.

Lu Li picked up the branch beside him that was used to stir the campfire, and moved the things left by the existence in the fog in front of him.

It was a matte stone that was not bright even under the firelight. It was larger than a fingernail and had an irregular polygonal shape. It was both delicate and rough, just like a piece of currency.

Lu Li put it into his pocket and added firewood to the campfire.

The night is getting darker.

jingle bell jingle bell

The sound of wind chimes sounded at a certain moment, and it originated from the evil spirit broadcast in Lu Li's arms.

Amidst the clear and melodious ringtone, a shadow of a strange claw extended from the darkness, clawing along the ground toward the campfire.

Lu Li picked up a stone and hit the Fire Stealing Shadow. It seemed to be frightened and retreated into the darkness and never appeared again.

Getting ready to rest, Lu Li lit the backup oil lamp and added enough wet wood to the campfire to burn for a long time. He leaned against the warm rock and closed his eyes to rest.

In the early morning, the bell broadcast by the evil spirit woke up Lu Li.

The strange fog faded, and green smoke rose from the extinguished fire.

Lu Li did not disappear into the long night.

After putting out the campfire and turning off the oil lamp, Lu Li put on his cloak and continued on his way in the cold morning.

The intervals between moments of silence are shortening at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In the evening, Lu Li rested in an abandoned village 70 miles away from the oasis and spent the night.

Every few hours, a moment of silence would envelope him.

Because of the straw doll, Lu Li was not affected.

50 miles, 30 miles, 10 miles.

The bells in the evil spirit broadcast become more frequent and dense at this distance.

Beside the river, Lu Li, wearing a cloak, stood on a mound, looking at the wilderness full of dark holes in the distance, and could vaguely see the outline of the oasis at the end.

The time of silence is there.

Lu Li lit a campfire by the river and finished the last portion of food.

After covering the campfire with ashes and dust from broken wooden boards he picked up from the shore, he left the river and headed towards the oasis.

The sound of the river gradually faded away, and dullness became the main theme of this land.

Lead-gray dark clouds enveloped the sky, and even the wind dared not whisper. Silence and depression pervaded the devastated land.

Lu Li could only hear his own footsteps, as if he was being deprived of this world.

The pictures presented create a strange "epic feeling".

Just like the last section in the novel: the ending.

A huge pitch-black hole stretches across the front, and an abyss-like aura seeps out from the bottomless darkness.

The oasis in the distance can be seen without looking carefully.

Lu Li bypassed the abyss, but when he reached the other side, a silhouette blocked his path.

"This is the place I chose for you to end."

A hoarse, changed tone, and a voice that had nothing to do with beauty sounded. The girl's corpse, which had long since cooled, raised her stiff head, which looked like Anna in three parts, and her eyes melted into turbidity in horror.

Anna finally stopped Lu Li.

"Do you like it?" Anna asked.

This body did not melt again, it seems because it was possessed by a corpse.

"not at all."

Lu Li pulled out his psychic gun, lowered his arms, and stared at the corpse not far away. His calm eyes seemed to be filled with sadness, but they also seemed to be just hallucinations.

"Why?" Anna tilted her head slightly and asked in confusion.

When words and actions appear on corpses, they become frighteningly weird.

"Can the conversation wait until I solve the third plague?"

With his back to the abyss, Lu Li looked past Anna and behind her. The oasis where the main body was at the moment of silence was only a few miles away.

He even seemed to be able to see the silhouette hanging under the tree, motionless in the silence.

"None of your thoughts are yours. This is the ritual of the rope of the gods controlling your consciousness!"

Lu Li was noncommittal: "Just like you."

"I know what I am doing..." Anna shook her head gently, her green neck forming disgusting wrinkles like pigskin. "Lu Li... Human beings are as fragile as sand sculptures. Even the blowing sea breeze can destroy their world...

"

"So...I will help you become a ghost, and then..."

Anna stretched out her palm, holding something in her hand. Her disgusting eyes covered with turbid floc seemed to be staring at Lu Li affectionately.

"We will always be together."

The breeze gradually picked up around her, and the dust clung to it, revealing the outline of the invisible spear.

Lu Li's response was to step back and raise his psychic gun.

The three roses on the silver-plated gun were still in buds, but there seemed to be a voice in Lu Li's ear, whispering softly: This shot can kill Anna.

The only thing that can fight against weirdness is weirdness. Of course, the rope of magic can hurt the girl's shadow.

It's time to end this...

Lu Li thought.

His eyes became gentle, not changed by Anna's ugly appearance, and he whispered softly like a dreamer:

"Good night."

Bang!

Smoke rose, and the deafening sound of gunfire echoed in the wilderness.

Lu Li pulled the trigger, and Anna threw the spear.

The spear pierced Lu Li's chest, and the bullet kissed Anna's cheek and flew towards the oasis.

Lu Li leaned back and fell into the abyss.
