18. Wanderers Tavern

Wow——

Lu Li stepped out of the barrel with dripping hot water, picked up a dry towel to wipe his body, and put on the trousers from twenty-four years ago.

It's almost the end of its life, and its experience in the underground has severely worn out its trousers.

"Do you have a dagger?" Lu Li said.

Catalina took off the short knife from her waist and threw it to Lu Li.

Pulling out the short knife, the blade in the dirty leather scabbard was unexpectedly sharp and clean. He simply rinsed the blade with a bucket of hot water, then picked it up and carefully shaved off his beard.

After shaving off the stubble, Lu Li washed the short knife, put it back into its sheath, and gave it back to Catalina.

Catalina whistled frivolously and looked at Lu Li's angular body and face, as well as his attractive abyss-like eyes: "What should I do when you are unconscious."

Lu Li paid no attention.

Catalina was sitting on the single bed, leaning against the thin wall and continuing to admire it. She suddenly realized something and stood up: "No, you can't do this... Even the nobles don't look so clean. It's me who was found unlucky... and...

With you."

Katarina briefly left the room and returned with a handful of foul-smelling sludge.

"Put it on your face."

The sludge that gave off a foul stench and a faint smell of alcohol made Lu Li think about where Catalina dug it from.

"It's too deliberate." Lu Li refused: "Find me a black robe."

Catalina thought for a while: "What you said is right."

No one is stupid, it's easy to tell whether it's intentional or just dirty, especially in the Wanderers Tavern.

Catalina opened the window and threw out the mud. The shouts and curses coming from the street below were blocked by the closed window.

Returning to the bucket to wash her hands, Catalina just wanted to rinse away the mud. When she touched the hot water, she suddenly changed her mind and peeled off the leather armor on her wet palms.

Lu Li looked away and looked at the sky again.

There was a sound of washing behind her, and Catalina took off her last clothes and stepped into the barrel, letting out a comfortable moan.

"I almost forgot the last time I took a hot bath..."

Lu Li quietly looked at the ring of magma fire. It existed in the southern sky. No matter the direction or outline, it seemed to be consistent with the black ring that once hung high in the sky.

Are the changes in the sky related to the black ring?

After observing for a few minutes, Lu Li lowered his eyes and looked towards the changed street below.

Passers-by walked on both sides of the road, bowing their heads in respect.

Six believers wearing black robes and inlaid with unrecognizable patterns on their chests carried the chariot frame and wriggled past in two rows.

"What do the gods of Tangge Town look like?" Lu Li asked without turning his head.

"No one knows."

Katerina's reply and the sound of rushing water sounded behind her.

"The name and appearance of the gods are a secret."

"No statue?"

"There is no such thing in Gange Town. Someone must have seen the appearance of the god, but only believers know the name." Catalina said.

"Then what do people call Him?"

"Mangge Town God, or Mangge." Catalina shrugged her shoulders above the water. "Did you see anything?"

"Six Tangge believers walked by carrying a wooden frame."

"The believers are warning that disaster is coming."

The sound of water in the barrel became noisy, and Catalina no longer enjoyed the hot water leisurely.

"Disaster?"

"Light Thief, Silent Hour, Mist Tide and so on."

"What are the light thieves and the fog tide?" Lu Li already knew during the silence: a terrible disaster that lasted for half a day.

"You must be familiar with them in the past." Catalina turned around and said, but she only saw Lu Li's back with a faint light on the edge. "The Shadow of Stealing Fire and the Weird Mist."

"The Shadow of Stealing Fire became a disaster?"

"Well, more than ten years ago." Catalina then told Lu Li about the ability of the Fire Stealing Shadow, or the Light Thief.

Stealing the light from heaven.

When the light thief appears, the sky will no longer be bright, and the world will be shrouded in eternal night until it leaves.

Sometimes it was a few hours, sometimes it was a few days. The longest time was fourteen days seven years ago - the whole world stayed in darkness for two weeks.

"It's not daylight yet, so it might be the quiet time or the fog tide."

Catalina said, telling Lu Li the origin of the fog tide before he asked.

The fog tide is a strange fog, but it is more turbulent than the usual strange fog, arriving every half a month or a month like a tide.

Even towns cannot resist the fog tide, so when the fog tide comes, the towns will be shrouded in strange fog.

"By the way, the Silent Hour is no longer as scary as it was when you were there. It only kills those who speak now."

When the time of silence comes, people no longer need to suppress their voices. As long as they don’t speak, nothing will happen.

"Have there been any changes to other disasters?" Lu Li asked.

"Lightless nights and plant disasters? It's still the same." The sound of water suddenly became clear. Catalina behind Lu Li stepped out of the barrel, dried her body, and the sound of putting on leather armor could be heard.

There was no change in Catalina after washing - she didn't wash her face thoroughly.

According to Catalina, staying dirty makes her look like an untouchable hunter.

Footsteps came from the corridor and stopped outside the door. Katerina thought it was a mole, but there was only a four-legged woman wrapped in pungent perfume standing outside the door. Katerina drove her away without mercy and waited again.

It took a few minutes for the mole to arrive.

Catalina whispered before opening the door: "Don't discriminate against the mole's size - he will be angry."

The Mole is a short man who looks like a teenage boy, but is actually a dwarf who cannot grow taller. He wears dirty leather armor and has a voice like a circus clown, sharp and funny.

.

This image makes Mole naturally hard to guard against, which is why he became a hunter selling information instead of a hunter like Katarina.

Lu Li remained quiet and stared at the mole.

In addition to his dwarf appearance, his left eye is deformed.

In addition to the original eyeball, the orbit of the left eye is crowded with more than a dozen eyeballs ranging from the size of pearls to as small as gravel. They are squeezed and deformed, and the scalp is numb in the orbit.

It seems to be a coincidence or something else, but there are many people with deformed eyes in Mango Town, such as Catalina, Old Pete the hyena, and the mole in front of him.

"I want to know where the people in the shelter from a few years ago are now." Katarina asked directly.

"15 shillings."

Mole's way of asking prices reminded Lu Li of a businessman.

"This is not worth 15 shillings!" Catalina's face showed anger.

"Sting, my information is always worth the money." The Mole simply replied.

The previous cooperation made Catalina suppress her anger at the high price: "If it is really worth 15 shillings, I will give it to you."

"They're in the ice-free port of Wiener."

"Wait... Weiner Freeze Port? Isn't it in Midnight City?"

The Mole replied in his funny sharp voice: "The church and nobles of Midnight City don't value pure human beings that much, unlike Verna Freeze Port. They hope to return to the pre-apocalyptic world one day."
