Twenty-eight. Moving forward in the eternal night

Lu Li has not yet mastered the power of using a lighthouse.

All he can use is the "redemption" power buried in the back of his left hand, but that requires close combat and the damage is unknown.

The chaos in the convoy continues. No enemies appear, only people who lose control due to illusions.

The dark fields are lit up with malicious peeping, and there is something coveting in the darkness.

Beings in the wilderness discovered the chaotic convoy.

"We have to find a way to stay away from the convoy." Catalina, who was staring at the chaos, turned back and said. "It won't be long before the weird things in the wilderness are attracted, and then we will be in misery."

"I can't even believe what you said." Lu Li's voice was still calm:

Catalina was stunned for a moment. She couldn't see her face clearly in the dimness. Only her voice sounded: "But you can tell what is for your own good and what is not."

"Yes." Lu Li replied, raising his left hand to hold Catalina's arm in confusion.

Catalina suddenly fell into silence and stared silently for a few seconds. Suddenly, it blew away like mist and enveloped Lu Li.

Lu Li held his breath and passed through the fog, waiting for the fog to dissipate and the real scene to emerge before his eyes.

The chaos in the convoy remains unchanged, as the real Katarina is having a conversation with the illusion in the void.

"No, we will only run into weird things when we enter the wilderness... Come back! It's more dangerous outside!" Catalina exclaimed and rushed out, as if she wanted to grab Lu Li in the illusion.

Lu Li suddenly reached out and grabbed Catalina's ankle, still with his left hand.

Catalina was dragged down by Lu Li and fell to the ground, but she was separated from the Emerald Dream and raised her arms to block the dispersing mist that only she could see.

"You saved me again."

Lu Li let go. Catalina, who realized what was happening, stepped back to him, took Lu Li's left hand and put it on her wrist. "Your power seems to be able to stop the Emerald Dream... so don't separate. We have two ways now."

"The first is to wait for rescue. Search and rescue may arrive in Leviathan Town, so we will hold on for a while."

"Say the second one."

The first option is not considered. The time when rescue will arrive is unknown, but the strange approach in the wilderness will not be too long.

Catalina also prefers the second method: "Dust cloth. It is a precious homologous product only owned by the leader of the convoy. It can cover up our breath. But we have to walk to the front row of the convoy."

Looking ahead as Catalina pointed, the chaos was gradually calming down.

"Then let's go."

Lu Li stood up, looked back behind him and said his last words, always holding Catalina with his left hand, and moved closer to the front row.

They were in the middle of the convoy. Numa on the caravan was shaking its huge body, and the weird aura exuding made people want to escape, but it was difficult to break free from the iron cage.

After running past the struggling Numa, the front row of carriages came into view.

puff

A cold light suddenly pierced out from the tarpaulin-covered truck and slid towards Lu Li's neck.

"careful!"

When Catalina reminded Lu Li, he lowered his head to avoid the sharp blade across his neck, which could easily cut open his neck.

tear apart

The tarpaulin tore open, and the team worker who emerged roared and rushed over. The Emerald Dream made him regard Lu Li as his enemy.

Lu Li dodged the beast-like workers, let go of Catalina, and grabbed his knife-wielding wrist with his left hand.

But the redemptive power failed for some reason, and the workers fell unconscious and struggled.

"Hurry up, I hear voices in the dark"

Caterina urged from the side.

Lu Li grabbed the dagger, paused briefly, and stabbed him with the blade, nailing him to the ground.

"Let's go quickly."

Catalina took the initiative to grab Lu Li's left hand and ran towards the front of the convoy.

The workers who were not yet dead were still roaring, but it suddenly stopped after they ran more than ten meters.

“This is it!”

Running to the front of the motorcade, Catalina gave a low shout and climbed into the carriage with the door open.

Lu Li followed closely behind and stepped in front of the carriage. He turned his head and looked in the direction he came from.

Scattered screams echoed from above the convoy.

A bright red flame appeared at the rear of the car, as if an overturned oil lamp had ignited the cargo. The flames could be clearly seen from more than ten miles away.

This motorcade looks like a long table serving sumptuous dishes.

bang

Lu Li climbed into the car and closed the door, blocking out the noise in the wilderness.

The carriage of the leader of the motorcade was decorated like a room. The floor was covered with animal blankets, fluorite was piled in the fireplace like burning firewood, and several oil lamps were hung everywhere to make the carriage bright.

The leader's carriage is large enough, and even the few boxes of goods stacked in the corner don't make it cramped and crowded.

Catalina rummaged through drawers and wardrobes like a robber, even cutting open the sofa with a short knife and taking out the inner stuffing in search of a dust sheet.

She couldn't find anything, so she turned her attention to the pile of goods and stepped forward to move them.

The wooden box was heavier than expected. Catalina moved the top wooden box to the edge, but she couldn't lift it before it was moved out. If she didn't catch it, it would fall and it might even break through the floor of the carriage.

"Help move these goods." Catalina said to Lu Li behind her. "I can't move it alone."

Lu Li walked towards Catalina and asked, "Why is there so much cargo in the carriage of the leader of the convoy?"

"Do you still remember that the convoy was going to be transported to the Earl of Ghost Town? Maybe it contained something belonging to him. Because it was very valuable, the leader of the convoy took care of it personally." Catalina thought.

Lu Li looked at the wooden boxes and found that they were no different from the pile of cargo wooden boxes he was riding in...

Lu Li suddenly lowered his eyes and said calmly: "I remember you said that no one can escape from the Emerald Dream."

"What's wrong?" Katerina asked confused.

"The worker didn't come out of the Emerald Dream when I touched him."

"Maybe he was scared out of his mind." Katerina guessed.

"An important cognate product like dust-falling cloth should be in a place that is secretive enough and within easy reach, not in cargo."

Caterina said no more.

"I remember that when the carriage overturned, I was crushed by the cargo in my lower body."

Lu Li looked at the stacked wooden boxes.

"They are very similar."

Catalina still held up the wooden box with her hands raised, facing away from Lu Li, with only her face turned. The other half of her face that could not be illuminated by the oil lamp was hidden in the shadows.

"I briefly let go of you when I was attacked."

Lu Li finally said, looking at Catalina: "You also patiently explained my problem."

Silence fell in the carriage. In the blink of an eye, the corners of Catalina's lips were raised and pulled up to the base of her ears. Her eyebrows climbed up to the top of her head, and her eyes melted like hot wax.

Catalina turned into dispersing mist, covering Lu Li in the blink of an eye.

Lu Li closed his eyes and held his breath, waiting for them to disperse.

My senses suddenly became as clear as surfacing. In my ears, I could hear the whine of the wind blowing through the corners of the wilderness, the crackling sound of fire, and smell the pungent smell of snuff carried by the wind and the unconcealable smell of blood.

.

Lu Li opened his eyes.

He fell on the side of the carriage, his lower body buried under the collapsed cargo, and the fluorite one meter away faintly illuminated the surroundings.
