One hundred and eleven. The way home

The temperature is getting lower day by day.

The citizens of Weina's Freezing Port have put on thicker clothes, and the smoke coming out of chimneys in the streets has become more intense.

The temperature at night is already close to 0 degrees. If you don't light a fire to keep warm, you will get sick.

Thick dark clouds were pressing in from the north, and half of the ice-free port of Wiener was under its shadow. Only the port and the sea farther away appeared bright because of the thinner cloud cover.

It may be accompanied by a new wave of cold snaps and rainfall.

It is better to have rain rather than snow. This year the temperature has dropped faster than before, and many citizens have not stocked up on charcoal to prepare for the cold winter. If the first snow falls too early, people may freeze to death.

Then the newspaper published the news the next day, and the nobles used it to criticize the mayor for failing to perform his duties.

Damn the nobility, people die every day in the lower town and slums, but they never care.

The strong wind carried the garbage and flew by, and pedestrians on the street wrapped their coats tightly and hurriedly walked by.

The power plant in the northern factory area continuously provides electricity, and the street lights supporting the urban streets are lit.

Gradually, the view of Wiener's ice-free port became hazy and blurred, reflecting the outline of the study room and the window.

A palm emerges, erasing the fog condensed on the glass. The scenery is distorted and deformed, like a gardener's random abstract landscape painting.

After completing this, the assistant returned behind Mayor Mateus,

"How long until Lu Li's train arrives?"

Mayor Mateus took out a handkerchief and wiped his wet palms. After taking it back, he wiped it across the window and the scenery became clear again.

"The train stopped at Surg Town last night and should have just departed now," the assistant replied.

"Can we arrive in the afternoon?"

"If everything goes well."

"What's the meaning?"

"This cloud." The young face reflected in the glass looked up at the clouds. The port where the ship docked was also shrouded in dark clouds, and only the sea surface survived.

"The west lacks mountain cover, and the clouds arrive before the ice-free port. If the cold current freezes the railway, the train will be delayed."

Knock knock.

There was a knock on the door.

The assistant turned around and opened the door, whispered a few words to the waiter outside the door, and returned behind Mayor Mateus with the parchment.

"What's up."

"Bad news from the railroad."

The assistant sighed, something unexpected happened on the most exciting return trip...

"A snowstorm hit Majiao Town, and the nearby railways froze. The Woztek train stopped halfway, and Your Excellency Lu Li was on that train..."

The generous figure in the coat did not turn around, only the palms under the coat gradually tightened.

"Do we have any of our own people in Majiao Town?"

"A Privy Councilor and a detachment of Inquisition Guards."

"Privy Councilor? Why are you in town?"

"Have you forgotten? Help Mr. Lu Li investigate the 'Resurrection of the Dead' incident."

"Let him go... no, let him find the Inquisition Guards and the Majiao Town Guards to rescue the Wozteq."

"Your Excellency, Mayor, please allow me to speak frankly... Doing this will expose the whereabouts of Your Excellency Lu Li, and everyone will know that he left the Weiner Freeze Port."

"It's not important anymore." Mayor Mateus sighed softly: "Let it be exposed. I don't want to bear any more accidents."

"I hope Mr. Lu Li will stop running around when he comes back..."

Lu Li's journey home was not smooth.

Hurrying quickly, they returned to Haug Town before dark under the shelter of the suffering people, but the evil spirits were always linked to trouble and they could not bring the suffering people into the town.

Although the Ritual of the Suffering Ones will not actively attack humans, its appearance will cause riots and some trouble.

Even if Lu Li revealed his identity, it would be difficult to suppress the consequences of the evil spirits entering the town.

They were forced to live in scavenger huts far from the town.

The dilapidated scavenger's hut was leaking from all directions, and with the cold winter approaching, Catalina unfortunately fell ill even after lighting a bonfire for the night.

She doesn't think it's her fault, the deserted land has never been so cold

Lu Li brought medicine, but the crudely processed medicine from herbal medicine was not that effective. From late night to early morning, she kept coughing and felt cold even with three blankets on her body.

"But why is there no cold winter in the desolate land?"

In the VIP carriage, Catalina huddled in the seat, wrapped in three handmade blankets with ancient imprints. She held a cup of hot coffee in her hand.

One day passed, and her cold was still not cured, and she was not allowed to rest well.

Catalina couldn't understand. She could go without eating for more than ten days, drink the most filthy water, and endure the pain of being pulled out and stabbed into her eyeballs countless times, but she only stayed in a cold place for one night.

I got sick...

"Maybe it's blocked by the world's back mountain range." Lu Li answered Pusius's question.

“Will the mountains block the clouds in the sky?”

"airflow."

Write down the short answer. Pusius may or may not understand it.

Chi

Thick steam filled the cold platform, and the train trembled slightly.

The coffee cup in her hands ripples, and she licks the rims on both sides.

Catalina took a sip to keep it from shaking due to the shaking of the train.

"Mr. Lu Li, what did you say to the suffering people when they left?" Pusius asked again.

"goodbye."

"Hey? Mr. Lu Li, where are you going?" Pusius asked strangely.

"Idiot, Lu Li said he said 'goodbye'." Catalina said in a low voice with a strong nasal voice.

"Goodbye? Why do you say that?" Pusius was even more surprised.

Caterina knew the answer, but didn't want to speak.

"Suffering crowds can drive away weirdness."

And it won't actively harm them.

Apart from its ugliness and being an evil spirit, it is a perfect amulet.

The steam train leaving the platform gradually picked up speed. Soon the waiter came in from the rear carriage where the sound of conversation could be heard and presented some free pastries.

Half an hour after leaving Surge town, they occasionally looked out the window and suddenly saw the wind.

Or rather, fragments mixed in the wind.

"It's snowing!"

Pusius rushed to the window and stared at the ash-like snow blown by the wind.

A piece of snow followed the train and fell on the window. I closed my eyes and stared carefully at this small snowflake, which was composed of several wonderful ice crystals.

The snowflakes were melted into insignificant water droplets by the temperature higher than the ice and snow in an instant, and Pusius went to look at other falling ones.

"Just like the pattern of the Ice and Snow Church..."

Pusius murmured that he had seen this church pattern in the old sewer.

Snowflakes are beautiful, and their wonderfully symmetrical shapes are indeed like creations of gods.

After staring at the snow for a long time, Pusius turned around and asked, "Mr. Lu Li, is winter weird?"

"have no idea."

The cold is as normal as the night, but it's hard to say whether it's caused by something weird.

"When Winter comes from the north, will there be other continents there?" Pusius diverged his thoughts.

"have no idea."

The farthest distance explored in human history was only a few thousand nautical miles.

The world is shrouded in mist, and only three continents and broken islands are lit up. No one knows whether this is the center of the world, or just a tiny broken island in the most remote part of the world...

Wow

The carriage suddenly shook and coffee poured out.

The train slowed down suddenly.
