216. Pilgrimage

The white snow covers the exposed black rocks, which are holy and independent from the dark earth.

The shadows cast by the beholder worms cover the Gauss Basin, and the strange creatures that break the tranquility at the foot of the mountain climb along the traces, like ants climbing towards the hills.

As a member of the ants, Lu Li looked back at the mountains.

The worm cannot get close to the snow-capped mountains. He will move forward alone, although he is not alone.

At the foot of the insignificant mountain range of the World Back Mountains, there is a strangely built market.

It is so simple that there are only crumbling stone houses and bonfires that have been extinguished for a long time. But they are just decorations, symbolizing that "this is a gathering place".

Many pilgrims gather here and pass by.

Lu Li approached the gathering place. No one cared about him, no one cared about him. Because something more tempting was in front of him, on the snow-capped mountains.

There is only one thing they trade: the blood of the God of the Deep.

The divine blood is carried in various forms. Blood-soaked soil, blood-stained stones, and light red liquid mixed with melted snow.

What they do seems to have nothing to do with worship and pilgrimage, but perhaps this is the style brought about by weird, barbaric and barren thoughts.

After a short stay, Lu Li left the gathering place and continued climbing. The mountain road ahead was endless and long.

Looking up or back, Lu Li could see dazzling outlines on the snow. Although they were difficult to count, most of them would not be touched by Lu Li.

As a human, Lu Li obviously has no physical advantages. And as mentioned at the beginning: there are more tempting things in front of them, and they have no time to unleash their malice and strangeness on humans with weird auras.

Lu Li climbed quietly, observing the stories that happened along the way.

A strange thing with four jointed limbs ignored the steepness and snow, climbed steadily, came from behind Lu Li, and quickly went away with a rustling sound.

A weirdo discovered divine blood, and nearby weirdos rushed to fight for a piece of blood.

Countless smaller, more scattered, and more chaotic markets are scattered throughout the mountains.

A predator more interested in the strangeness of pilgrimage than in divine blood.

The temperature gradually dropped, from the coolness of the Gauss Mountains to the coldness close to the mountainside. As night fell, Lu Li gave up the eye-catching oil lamp and only used fluorescence to protect himself from being engulfed in the darkness.

The sky, which has not been covered with clouds for decades, is gloomy and dull. Fortunately, the snow on the snow-capped mountains exudes a dim yellow light.

The strange fog does not cover this place. It is the power of the God of the Deep Sea. It is still in the back mountain range of the world.

If there were no weirdness and these encounters, maybe this climb itself would be a journey that cleanses the soul.

Lu Li did not rest, observing the calm inverted pentagram mark on the back of his hand. It could be triggered at any time, and he had to climb to the top of the mountain if the God of the Deep Sea was still there.

Then Lu Li contacted Weiner Freeze Port and Midnight City.

Wiener Freeze Port lost contact again, but it was not a strange invasion, but Mayor Mateusz was once again imprisoned by the Inquisition.

The nobles who secretly contacted Lu Li told him that the Inquisition took over the city, took away Lu Li's victory, and slandered the God of the Deep Sea as being brought in by him.

Naturally, Pusius and the others were not released.

"What does the trial want?"

The noble replied that he didn't know either. The ice-free port of Wiener was blocked and all citizens were prohibited from entering and exiting. The only ones that remained in operation were factories and ports that handled goods.

After the Inquisition took over, they did nothing but these, such as suspicious missionary behavior.

Lu Li told Midnight City what happened at Weiner Freezing Port, and Midnight City responded with news: they sent students from Giant Tree Academy led by professors to the snowy mountains to participate in the trial, hoping that Lu Li would meet them and provide some information.

Lu Li, who was far away from the foot of the mountain, could not return, so he wrote down what he had seen and told the merchant to take away.

Lu Li did not fall asleep because of the night. He fragmented his rest time throughout the night. Although it was difficult to sleep and wash away his fatigue, it was better than disappearing in the long cold night.

The Doomsday Apocalypse Book is also enough to support Lu Li to maintain the status quo for a short period of time.

There was still an hour before dawn, and the snow made the surrounding light no longer dim.

Lu Li got out of the tight blanket, asked the merchant to take away the blanket and warm water bottle, and continued climbing.

The higher you go up, the fewer the weird outlines, the more concentrated they are...and the weirder they are.

The divine blood is more frequent on the mountainside that has not been reclaimed and plundered by monsters. The monsters from the bottom gather around or occupy the place where the divine blood is poured, gnawing and devouring it.

But it's no longer like a pilgrimage, but instead frantically grabbing blood-stained snow or stones and putting them into his mouth, or lying on the rocks and licking them.

Their state made Lu Li realize that something was wrong. When he approached, the monsters roared to drive them away.

"Go away...bastard!"

Lu Li was not interested in the blood of the God of the Deep Sea, and luckily they were not interested in Lu Li either. It took some time to zigzag around the blood-spattered area occupied by the monsters, and the only obstacle blocking the front was the snow-capped mountains themselves.

As night fell the next day, Lu Li had reached the upper part of the snow-capped mountain.

Contacted Weiner Freezing Port and Midnight City again. The former was still out of contact, and the same could not be contacted with yesterday's noble. I don't know whether he regretted contacting Lu Li or something happened. The latter told Lu Li that there are many strange things in those gathering places at the foot of the mountain.

has disappeared.

The divine blood at the foot of the mountain has been scraped away, and the weirdos can only explore upward to find new divine blood.

Because of the strange gathering in the Bloodshed, Lu Li appropriately extended his fragmented rest time. The two-day climb sent his body a signal that it urgently needed rest.

After spending a peaceful night, Lu Li avoided the weirdness and continued upward.

Change also came with the hazy mist as he approached the top of the mountain.

The sound of the river sounded faintly in front of me, it seemed to be the river where melted snow mountains converged.

Lu Li quickly got the answer: it was the blood of the God of the Deep Sea.

Like magma, like blood flowing in snow-capped mountains, the divine blood surges and washes downstream.

Lu Li saw strange things soaked in the river of divine blood and eaten on the shore. They were stained with divine blood and gave off a hateful and world-weary aura.

Perhaps the divine blood represents not only power, but also price.

There was more than one river of divine blood, and what Lu Li saw were only insignificant tributaries. The higher they went up, the denser and more turbulent they became, terrifyingly venting towards the foot of the world's back mountain range.

Rather than blood that can be drained, Lu Li thinks they are the power of the God of the Deep Sea.

This speculation was confirmed a few hours later. The upper reaches of the river turned into streams, and further upstream became canals.

And the strange aura that occupies this place becomes increasingly world-weary and hateful.

The weird leaders ignored Lu Li as he passed by, but when he surpassed them and continued upward, they looked at Lu Li at the same time like the ferocious weirdos hated by the world.

A rickety, thin, ghoul-like, weird leader with dry, fluorescent skin crawled towards Lu Li and bumped into an invisible force that blocked it.

"Come back...come back...!"

It roared hoarsely at Lu Li.

Lu Li looked around at it and the other strange leaders, looked away, and embarked on the final stretch of the road.

The God of the Deep Sea knows his arrival and is waiting for his arrival.
