224. Darkness comes, please keep hope

23:59

The hands of the clocks are almost aligned.

Worm Station Platform, the only area worthy of its name in Midnight City Terminal.

They appeared after the surface became dangerous to accommodate the Midnight City area where the passenger flow surged.

In front of platform 224, several wizard-like silhouettes wearing round pointed hats and dark robes were waiting quietly. In the old sewer where there were strange silhouettes everywhere, they didn't look out of place.

Wait patiently and you will get results.

The worm on Platform 224 suddenly squirmed, pushing out a figure and falling to the ground.

He was spotless, the white shirt under the black windbreaker was still neat and clean, and he was not as embarrassed as the other passengers who threw themselves at the water source covered in mucus.

"Mr. Lu Li."

Professor Cesar, the only professor not wearing a wizard's hat and robe, greeted Lu Li excitedly. After the merger of the colleges, he still served as a professor of linguistics, but instead of being the only one, he became one of them.

Lu Li observed the figures dressed as wizards behind him.

"They are wizards who protect you."

Professor Cesar answered Lu Li's question: "Professors from the college are not suitable to pick you up, as that will attract unnecessary attention."

As someone Lu Li had been in contact with, Professor Cesar began to introduce the situation of the college. Although Lu Li knew the detailed information about Giant Tree College before arriving, he did not stop the ordinary professor from talking too much due to excitement.

"We should leave before the law enforcers here find out."

One of the wizards lowered his voice and interrupted, as if he was worried about being overheard.

Lu Li nodded, followed the group of "wizards" out of the bustling station, and took the fast elevator that led to the surface like a stone pillar.

"The surface of the earth no longer belongs to humans, except in the land of light."

In the irregular classroom like a tree house, the occult professor in front of the star fruit wood desk is telling the students boring knowledge.

"Mr. Gupes?" the professor asked the brown-haired young man who raised his hand in confusion.

"Professor Hagrid, you said this two weeks ago," the brown-haired young man reminded.

"I need to say it again because"

His words were interrupted again, and a figure rudely broke into the classroom and signaled to him: "Professor Hagrid, please come out."

Professor Hagrid put down his book, leaving "Everyone to review yesterday's rune circuits." He followed the figure out, and there was a buzzing whisper like the hiss of fire as he left.

"What's the matter? I'm in class, Mr. Gatekeeper." Professor Hagrid wondered why the gatekeeper who patrolled the giant tree came to him.

"The exorcist has arrived and is in the dean's lounge."

"Oh my god..."

Professor Hagrid lost his composure, his lips began to tremble, and he even walked hand and foot on the uneven wooden corridor with tree core patterns everywhere.

Coming out of the fastest passage to the dean's lounge on the top floor from the lower class, he knocked on the lounge door decorated with ouroboros, and Professor Cesar of Linguistics opened the door for him.

Then he saw that slender figure that made people jump for joy, cheer, and worship.

"Dear Mr. Lu Li..."

Professor Hagrid bent over and almost touched Lu Li's shoes.

"Professor Peter Hagrid, the junior occult professor." Professor Cesar introduced Lu Li.

"You can call me Spit, Mr. Lu Li." Professor Hagrid said humbly.

"Professor Hagrid."

Lu Li didn't do that. He came here to learn and should respect those who impart knowledge.

"Where's Ernie Hamilton Wayne?" Lu Li asked.

The occult professor who he met at the Alchemy Tower and Professor Chris who provided the alienation potion were the only professors from Giant Tree Academy that he knew.

"He is a senior occult professor. You will not be able to see him for another two years at the latest...if any of you can survive until then."

The charming woman's low laugh sounded from behind the open door, and what came into view was a silk pleated dress as red as red wine. She was unusually tall and had to be short to slip under the two-meter-high door frame.

When she raised her head, she revealed that beautiful face that made people feel desire and possessiveness deep in their souls, and was full of maternal nature.

Professor Cesar turned his head to look at the birdcage, keeping her out of sight.

"Deputy Dean Chris, you should maintain respect for Mr. Lu Li." Professor Hagrid was not one of them and loyally defended Lu Li.

"Don't forget that Mr. Lu Li will be our student soon." Her red lips parted slightly, and the little giant-like Professor Chris sank into the sofa that wrapped her body.

Even so, Professor Chris, who was sitting like this, was actually taller than Professor Cesar.

"Is the potion useful?"

“It helped me a lot.”

"So have you decided which college to join?" Professor Chris poured herself a glass of red wine. Both the wine bottle and the glass were very small and compact for her.

Before arriving, Lu Li had already chosen his major course: "Mystery Department."

This is where Lu Li can master the power of the cursed title.

The Mystery Department is the department with the most students, followed by Professor Chris’s Alchemy Department.

"I guess so."

Professor Chris took a sip of red wine and glanced at the excited and trembling Professor Hagrid.

"I still have fifteen minutes to spare. Do you have anything to ask?"

"Uh... where is Dean Asammons?" Professor Cesar asked.

Professor Chris said that the dean was out to greet Lu Li and that tonight's entrance ceremony would be hosted by her as the vice dean.

Students admitted to Jushu Academy will go through three academic years: lower grade, middle grade, and senior grade.

This was too long for Lu Li: "I hope to graduate as soon as possible."

"Credits. If you have enough credits, you can apply for the promotion trial."

After confirming the enrollment, Lu Li recalled the dark shadow formed in the final stage of the "Gate": "I can't stay in one place for too long. Because of a curse that follows me."

"curse?"

Professor Chris couldn't detect any traces of the curse, so he asked Lu Li to go to the bottom floor to find her in three days and leave on time at the fifteenth minute.

Professor Hagrid was also driven away by her to prepare for the course. Professor Cesar, who was left behind, took Lu Li to the temporary guest room to rest. Only he in the Appearance Academy was lucky enough to join the Giant Tree Academy.

More than ten hours later, Lu Li followed dozens of students gathered in the corridor and headed to the auditorium at the canopy of the tree.

Before entering the auditorium, they were taken to a small room to wait for their names to be called during the upcoming entrance ceremony.

"Vina Rogan!"

A girl with freckles took a deep breath and walked out of the room first.

"...join the mystery department!"

Sparse applause came from outside.

"Zethun Pal..."

Following the names one after another, the new students walked out of the hut one after another.

"Mystery!"

"Alchemy system!"

"Mystery"

"Divination system!"

There are fewer and fewer new students in the hut, and finally it’s the turn

"Lu Li!"

The noisy auditorium filled with faint whispers suddenly became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop.

The first-year professors in the seats looked towards the entrance of the cabin. The students sitting behind the bench stretched their necks and lifted their buttocks from their seats, hoping to get a clear look at the freshman named Lu Li.
