15. Anna's daily life

"Welcome stranger, this is Hades' detective agency. Hades left Belfast for something. I am his brother Harkus."

In the narrow space behind the bar, a figure said to Lu Li at the door. As his mouth opened and closed, there was a faint golden light flickering under the oil lamp.

Lu Li did not leave behind the door. He stood behind the door, his body hidden in the shadows that could not be illuminated by the oil lamp. The blurry outline showed a slight strangeness.

As the sense of danger outside the door gradually faded away, Lu Li regained his initial calmness and left behind the door.

"What's outside?" Hades noticed something and waved to Lu Li.

"I have no idea……"

Looking across the door, Lu Li exhaled a sigh of relief and walked to the bar to sit down.

"Stop lying?"

When his lie was exposed, Hades showed no embarrassment at all. He smiled so brightly that everyone could see all his gold teeth: "At least I didn't lie to you in the second half of the sentence. I really have a brother named Hacus. So you

Are you here to ask 'free' questions?"

He emphasized the emphasis on the word free.

"Um."

Just as Harden admitted frankly, Lu Li also admitted the purpose of his visit: "You meant something when you said the ghost became stronger last time. I want to know why."

Hades had long been prepared for Lu Li to ask this question and chuckled: "Human beings walk under the sun, and ghosts breed in the darkness. One is the living and the other is the dead. We are two opposites.

This kind of existence. It is completely normal for the dead to covet the living."

"That's not enough to convince me."

Lu Li shook his head, this was like some kind of racial discrimination - a very typical prejudice and judging the whole based on partiality.

Hades seemed to know that Lu Li would say this, and smiled mysteriously: "Many people are afraid of ghosts, don't you want to know why?"

Lu Li didn't say anything, that was exactly why he came.

"It's not just because they are ghosts - after all, they were once living people. If every ghost is the same as when they were alive, why should we be afraid of them? The real reason is...the moment they turned into ghosts, they were already possessed by something in the world.

The aura invades. The more powerful they are, the more serious the invasion will be. If you have seen the resentful spirit, you will know how strong the dark aura is on it."

Hades lay on the bar, leaned forward, and solemnly said: "One last thing to remind you..."

Ten minutes later, Lu Li said goodbye to Hades and walked out of his detective agency.

The closed door behind him blocked the sound of wind chimes. Lu Li stood under the eaves of dripping rain and looked at the street.

In the distance, a large number of fishing boats are moored in Belst Port, and the light gray sea surface is ominous. There are not many pedestrians on the street, and occasionally horse-drawn carriages drive by. Steam cars are nowhere to be seen in this weather.

Most of the pedestrians were holding umbrellas, but Lu Li never saw the petite girl holding a large, thick gray umbrella again.

Lu Li didn't know what it was, but the sense of crisis in contact with her told Lu Li that if he rejected her and didn't listen to her, something extremely terrible would happen.

Fortunately, just as Lu Li did not violate the girl's words, the girl did not do anything to Lu Li.

Holding up his umbrella and stepping on the wet bluestone with his rain boots, Lu Li returned all the way to Sailor Street and ordered a chicken soup, mashed potatoes and a piece of white bread from Mrs. Phillin's Bakery - because of the heavy rain, the children were already worried.

The sick adult was dragged home.

Passing by the longhouse holding a hot pot of mashed potatoes, Lu Li saw Anna lying on the dining table with her hands on her chin in front of the window of the detective agency, staring at the vase of tulips on the window sill.

She noticed the figure outside the window, her eyes shifted from the tulips to Lu Li, her bright eyes gradually narrowed, curved into a happy arc, and she waved to Lu Li.

"No matter how kind, cute and popular your ghost is, when her power increases, she will inevitably be affected - otherwise, why do you think no exorcists have done this?"

Hades' last words came to mind.

Lu Li nodded towards the girl who was very happy to see him back, left the window, and returned to the detective agency after a while.

Anna floated in front of the door, reaching out to take what Lu Li was holding.

"Hot to touch."

Lu Li gave a simple reminder and handed over the pot of mashed potatoes and brown paper.

"Why are you so stupid? I'm a ghost." Anna chuckled a few times, held them in her hands and used her telekinesis to catch them, and sent them to the desk.

Lu Li closed the umbrella and placed it by the door frame in the corridor, then closed the door and took off his rain boots in front of the door.

"Do you like to read books?"

Anna looked at Lu Li in confusion. It took her a while to realize that he was talking to her, and nodded slightly: "I didn't like it before, but now I really want to see it..."

Anna is dead. In ghost form, she has no living needs, no need to eat or rest - if returning to the portrait to restore energy does not count.

This gives her a lot of free time. What's worse is that she is a ghost and cannot wander around unscrupulously.

Anna's time is mostly occupied by doing nothing. Although it is better after coming to the detective agency than when she was in the gallery, it is not much better. So even a tulip can keep Anna busy for half a day, although she does like flowers.

"What kind of movies do you like to watch?" Lu Li asked again.

Anna still looked a little confused: "Well... fairy tales, and love, love novels..."

Lu Li put on his shoes, took off his slightly damp windbreaker and hung it on the hanger: "I will try to bring some books back next time I go out."

"oh……"

Anna responded in a daze, feeling a little happy in her heart. Then it wasn't until Lu Li returned to his desk and started eating that she thought in hindsight: Was Lu Li caring about her?

This time it had nothing to do with the reflex arc, it was purely because Lu Li's caring style was too hard-core.

She peeked at Lu Li with some embarrassment and found that he was eating seriously, as if the words just now were not his last words, or were mentioned casually.

So Anna began to wonder again whether she was overthinking it.

The relationship between Lu Li and Anna is difficult to explain clearly.

They seemed to be friends, but neither knew much about each other - one-sided.

Anna may want to know about Lu Li's past, but Lu Li is not someone who would chat with Anna when they have nothing to do. Moreover, there is a sense of dependence on each other.

At least for Anna, her sense of dependence can be detected even by Lu Li, who is extremely indifferent to emotions. Perhaps for this ghost girl, Lu Li is everything in her life.

If you think about it carefully, it may be understandable. After all, he was the only person willing to contact Anna for a long time after her death.

This incident was just an interlude. Lu Li didn't go out for the next few days and began to wait for O'Connor's action. While waiting, Marcus called from a new number.

He brings a new commission.
