"The fields owned by our Buddhist temples have been tax-free since the Han Dynasty. How can you change the rules of your ancestors?"

"However, God is kind to you. If you are willing to change your ways, the court will give you a job where you can have enough food and clothing."

After Kuai Yue finished speaking, he looked at the other monks and said: "As for you, you have hands and feet, don't you know how to support yourselves? Planting fields and vegetables, and saving the souls of the dead are what you can do to make a living. If you only seek charity from others, you will not be able to make a living with others.

At this time, Xuanzang said: "Everyone, since the Emperor of Chu wants to destroy our Buddhist sect, all monks can join the poor monks in bowing to the west and praying for the Buddha to appear and relieve this crisis!"

All the monks suddenly understood and kowtowed to the west: "Now the emperor is ignorant, deceived by villains, and wants to destroy Buddhism. We hope that the Buddha will appear and save hundreds of millions of Buddhists! We will recite sutras devoutly day and night and worship the Buddha with incense and offerings."

After a group of monks kowtowed three times and bowed nine times, a golden light suddenly appeared in the west. In the golden light, there was a golden Buddha manifesting himself with incomparable majesty.

All the monks immediately looked overjoyed and kowtowed to the Buddha one after another. They thought that since the Buddha appeared, there was no need to worry about the four strategies to destroy the Buddha.

Even the palace guards, under the illumination of the Buddha's light, felt compassion in their hearts and tended to kneel down and worship.

At this time, Kuai Yue said coldly: "Guards, follow me and salute to the north, and I respectfully invite the Great Emperor Ziwei in the North Pole to descend to earth!"

Immediately, a group of guards followed Kuai Yue and kowtowed to the north. After three kowtows and nine kowtows, purple clouds appeared on the horizon. Dressed in purple robes, the mighty Ziwei Emperor suddenly appeared.

Kuai Yue looked overjoyed, knelt down and saluted, saying: "Old minister, I sincerely welcome your majesty to the world!"

The guards also kowtowed and saluted. This was not only Emperor Ziwei, but also the Supreme Emperor of the Great Chu Dynasty. How could they be disrespectful?

Now the Buddhist monks were confused. Emperor Ziwei also appeared as a saint. If Emperor Ziwei won the battle, wouldn't they still have to pay taxes and work in the fields?

At this time, Tathagata Buddha stared at Emperor Ziwei and said: "Sakyamuni came here at the invitation of the emperor, and he also asked the emperor to let go of the fight and defeat the Buddha!"

Ling Feng laughed and said: "Did this emperor ever say that when the Buddha arrives, he will release Wukong? Monks don't lie, the Buddha broke the precepts!"

What he said was that if you want to save Sun Wukong, let Tathagata come in person.
