I imitated his example and pinched my fingers, wondering why the child stopped fussing after squeezing it.
Grandpa Cai said that he was pinching evil spirits, and he needed the help of Lao Xian'er to pinch them away.
One time before the Chinese New Year, my father asked me to deliver a pot of fresh silkworm chrysalises to Grandpa Cai’s house.
This thing is a local delicacy in our country, and it is an indispensable delicacy on every household's dinner table during the New Year.
When I sent them there, I saw the silkworm chrysalis in the pot with their dark little heads still moving around, so I told Grandpa Cai not to eat them yet, but to wait two days before eating them.
Grandpa Cai nodded and asked Aunt Cai to take the pot of silkworm chrysalis to the back room. He left me in the back room to memorize ancient poems.
When I was leaving, Aunt Cai wanted to grab some candies for me to take home, but she went to the back room and shouted that the silkworm chrysalis was gone.
I ran over and took a look. Not to mention the silkworm chrysalis, even the pot I was carrying was gone.
It was winter, and the windows in the countryside were covered with plastic sheets. It was impossible for anyone to jump in and steal the silkworm chrysalises.
So the pot of silkworm chrysalis disappeared into thin air under our noses.
It happened that the back room of his house enshrined the memorial tablet of Grandma Bai Xian.
Grandpa Cai offered incense and asked, then turned around and told me that it was okay, it was Lao Xian'er who had moved it away.
I asked Grandpa Cai where he moved to?
Grandpa Cai said it was a release.
Where did it go?
No one knows.
This incident is still a mystery in my mind when I think about it.
After reading a lot in those years, I naturally had more questions. Sometimes I couldn’t understand what Grandpa Cai explained.
But I rarely ask.
The experience of eating hundreds of meals when I was young taught me to speak less and avoid annoying others.
When I get along with my elders, most of the time I just listen to what they say.
I also secretly watched the excitement. After watching it, I squatted in the courtyard of Grandpa Cai’s house and played with long and short straw sticks.
"Yingying, what you are doing is a hexagram."
When Grandpa Cai came back after seeing off the victim, he was surprised at my straw stick, "The sixth day of the lunar month, the ninth day of the lunar month, the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, the sixth day of the ninth lunar month, the sixth day of the ninth lunar month..."
He frowned and said, "Kan hexagram, there are dangers. The two hurdles overlap each other, and there are many dangers. A bright moon shines on the water, and only the shadow is gone. A foolish man goes to get it when it is rich, and touches it all in vain. This hexagram is yours.
Did you type it yourself?"
"That's right, I learned it from the book you read."
I became nervous when I saw his serious expression, "There are many pictures like this in the book. Aunt Cai said what hexagrams and lines were called, so I made one up. Grandpa Cai, if you are unhappy, I will stop playing with it in the future."
Grandpa Cai shook his head and was about to speak when a gust of wind blew the straw stick away. I protected it subconsciously. After gathering it, the straw stick was still messy, so I had to arrange another one that looked similar. Grandpa Cai smiled when he saw this.
"It has changed, the ninety-two divinations have changed, and the water and ground divinations have changed. Even if there are dangers in the road, it will not be a big problem. I can sail with the wind and spread the shed, and God will support me with a strong wind. I don't have to work hard to get away. I can do whatever I want and make a fortune."
"
Seeing that I was puzzled, Grandpa Cai touched my head and said, "Ying Ying, people are not afraid of setbacks. You are the material for this industry. If my daughter hadn't received the teachings from the Xian family, I would have really wanted to pass the word on to you."
, Bodhisattva comes again, you have great kindness in your heart, why worry about not being able to do great things after you step on the path."
I still don't understand what it means.
The point of interest is the numbers in Grandpa Cai's mouth.
What do the numbers 6 and 92 mean?
Grandpa Cai patiently taught me that it is a hexagram number.
Each hexagram has six lines, the long one is the yang line, read nine, and the broken short one is the yin line, read six.
Counting from bottom to top, the bottom one is the first line, the yang line is recited on the ninth day of the lunar month, and the yin line is recited on the sixth day.
Then ninety-two or sixty-two go up according to the number of yang and yin.
The sixth line at the top is called Shang, the yang line is called Shangjiu, and the yin line is called Shang6. Each line has its own words.
As I grew up, I not only learned this knowledge, but also understood the meaning of the second coming.
There is a saying in Buddhism that is to drive Cihang backwards and come again with the wish.
It means that the Bodhisattva who became a Buddha has returned to the human world to practice and influence all living beings.
Of course I don't have that level.
No one can know the real second coming.
Nor will anyone know.
Grandpa Cai also said later that he believed that the people who came again might be doing various professions and have various personalities. They were everywhere in the market. Even if they were suffering, they would still have compassion and appear as Bodhisattvas.
It was put on me because my mother had a miraculous fetal dream when she was pregnant with me, and Grandpa Cai told her this.
In addition to asking for praise, the main reason is that my father is eager to have a son, and Grandpa Cai wants his father to accept me more.
To put it bluntly, my status as a comer is more about Grandpa Cai’s expectations for me.
He also specifically told my parents not to publicize this matter in the village. Time will tell what kind of blessing I will bring to the Wan family.
If it spreads, people will talk too much, and it will become chaotic once it is spread. People in the village should not think that I am the reincarnation of some god or Buddha, and then come to offer incense and worship me. It will not only make a joke, but also affect our family's own blessings.
This is not nonsense. Our Fengqing Village has always had outstanding people. In addition to the Cai family, which has the inheritance of the Tang Dynasty, there was also a female Taoist priest in the village.
Not only is she Grandpa Cai's childhood friend, she is also a truly gifted person.
It is said that she has magical powers at the age of five or six, and can determine a person's life and fortune with a single glance.
At that time, the villagers regarded her as a goddess and a living Bodhisattva, and burned incense and worshiped her. However, her family members suffered misfortunes one after another.
In the end, she left the village alone and was never heard from again.
With her in front of me, I was well protected.
Over the past thirteen years, I have grown up without incident.
However, apart from being curious and eager to learn about yin and yang, and knowing some written knowledge, I really don’t see any other special abilities in myself.
Compared with the female Taoist who left a legendary experience in the village, I am not worth mentioning.
"ah-!!"
A wolf-like scream brought me back to my thoughts.
When I looked up, I had already reached the area around Grandpa Li's house. The villagers surrounded Li's house on three floors, and the excitement was comparable to that of a large gathering.
"Oh my God, I'm calling you!"
Everyone in the village grinned when they heard the screams, "Is something going on inside?!"
"Give way!"
Dad pushed through the crowd and led me towards the gate, "Get out of the way!"
The further I walked, the more uncomfortable I felt, "Dad, my face is numb."
"What?"
Dad was puzzled, "Why is your face still numb?"
"Hey, Chang Lin, don't push forward!"
Grandpa Cui next to him responded, "You'll be numb if you come forward!"
