Chapter 30 Saving Money

Zhuzhuigang is a small station, and the express train does not stop there. You can only get off at Xianrenqiao or Songjianghe.

After getting off the Xianren Bridge, you have to wait for the local train, then walk from Xianren Bridge to Jewelry Gang, and then walk back. Then it will be four or five o'clock when you get home.

We got off the bus at Songjianghe at 1:30, and it only took about an hour to walk back to the big house. Calculating that, it was quite easy.

And Xu Shiyan had other things to do, so he bought a ticket to Songjiang River.

The couple got out of the car packed up, and there were several donkey jeeps picking up passengers near the station.

The so-called donkey jeep is actually a donkey cart.

In the past two years, the Songjianghe Forestry Bureau exchanged timber for a batch of live donkeys from somewhere.

Since the number was not large, they were distributed among several units. Some of them were killed at that time, and the remaining ones were kept and raised.

I don't know who it is, but it uses this donkey to pull its feet between the station and the town. Everyone calls this donkey jeep.

The couple got on a donkey jeep and drove from the train station to the busiest part of the town center, where they paid money to get off.

"Where is this place? How can we get home from here?"

Su Anying had never gone out, let alone been to Songjiang River. She didn't know where to go while standing on the street.

Xu Shiyan pointed to the east side of the cross street, "Let's go to the savings bank."

They still have more than 3,000 yuan with them. They can't just go back with cash. It's safer to deposit it in the bank.

Savings banks in these years basically only served various units and factories, and there were very few personal deposits.

The two of them walked in. It was empty inside, so they didn't need to queue up to get a number. They sat directly in front of the counter.

The staff inside looked at it and felt strange, so they asked casually, "What business are you doing?"

"Save money." Xu Shiyan picked up his shirt, took out three large bundles of unity from his pocket, and put them on the counter.

Several staff members at the counter were immediately stunned. It was not that they had never seen so much money, but mainly because they had never seen anyone deposit so much money.

"Comrade, which one do you want to save? Time deposit or demand deposit?" I felt that the attitude of the staff improved immediately.

"Let's save for the term first." There will be a lot of money to spend next, at least to build a house, right? So you can't save for the term.

"By the way, can I leave a password for my current deposit?"

If a fixed deposit cannot be withdrawn before it expires, even if the deposit certificate is lost, there is no problem in reporting the loss immediately. But if the current deposit cannot be withdrawn, what should I do if it is lost?

"Password? There is no such service. To withdraw money, all you need to do is match the person's name and hand stamp."

The staff inside looked confused. They didn't know why they were using the password to deposit money.

Xu Shiyan sighed. He could actually guess that early deposits did not have passwords. You could take them out with a passbook and a hand stamp.

"Then, if the bankbook is lost and someone else finds a place to carve a hand stamp, can't the money be withdrawn?" Xu Shiyan couldn't help but ask.

"Oh, you said this, you can leave a fingerprint. When withdrawing money, we have to verify the fingerprint before paying."

Over there, a slightly older man explained.

Xu Shiyan nodded when he heard this. In this industry, everyone's fingerprints are different, so you can't pretend to be someone else.

Of course, he would have to come in person to withdraw the money in the future, otherwise no one would be able to withdraw it.

"Then please save the money for me." It's enough to keep a few hundred yuan in your hand, and it's safe to save the rest.

The staff quickly counted the money, asked Xu Shiyan to fill in several forms, stamped it with his seal and fingerprints, and finally handed Xu Shiyan a passbook.

It's said to be a passbook, but it's actually just a small notebook with a few pages, and it doesn't even have a hard cover on the outside.

Xu Shiyan took the passbook and looked through it carefully, thinking that when he got home, he would find a notebook and write down the accounts. If he lost it, he could report the loss if he could remember the account.

Xu Shiyan stuffed his bankbook into his pocket, led his wife and walked out.

But Su Anying quit, "Where's our money? If we give her the money, why don't we just give her a small notebook?"

Not many people have saved money these days. Su Anying has never heard of it. Where can I learn about this?

Xu Shiyan smiled and pulled his wife out of the savings bank.

"Our money is stored here, and we can withdraw it when we need it in the future. That small book is the receipt for withdrawing the money."

After coming out, Xu Shiyan patiently told his wife about savings.

"Think about it, we live in someone else's house now, and we usually go to work and are away from home.

We all know that we have money, what if someone has bad intentions and steals it? It is stored here and cannot be taken out without my fingerprint, so it is safe."

Su Anying seemed to understand, but in her eyes, her husband was almighty and she just had to listen to him.

"You are still smart, you are so awesome." Su Anying looked at Xu Shiyan with admiration, which made Xu Shiyan's face heat up.

If he hadn't had experience in his previous life, he would actually be similar to Su Anying.

After saving the money and having nothing else to do, the two of them walked all the way, passing Pine Forest High School, taking the firewood trail, crossing the No. 2 Bridge, heading west, and headed straight to the big house.

It was around three o'clock in the afternoon when we returned to the village.

There were still many people gathering together to chat at the end of the village. When Xu Shiyan and his wife came back, these people gathered around them.

"Hey, the third son and his wife of the Xu family are back. How are they? How much did you sell those two ginseng trees for? Where are you, the black man?"

"You look at the couple carrying large and small packages back, and you know that they must have exchanged a lot of money."

"San'er, you see, your brother is getting engaged in a few days. Can I take Baiba'er's emergency response from you?"

There were three aunts and six wives chattering around Xu Shiyan and his wife, just like a small tofu pot.

"Aunts and ladies, can you please stop asking? We have just come back and we are hungry and tired from the journey.

My wife is still pregnant with the child, can you let us go home first?"

Xu Shiyan's head hurt from the noise from these people, so he shouted loudly, put one hand on his wife's shoulders, and the other hand pushed aside the crowd and walked out.

Everyone was stunned by Xu Shiyan's voice. They stared blankly at Xu Shiyan and his wife walking out of the crowd, and then they came back to their senses.

I wanted to catch up again, but I felt shameless after thinking about it, so I had to stand there and talk.

"Look, how come this kid doesn't show any kindness? He's so rich that his tail is raised to the sky." Some people were unhappy and deliberately accused loudly.

"Isn't that so? Look at how awesome he is. He's even more impressive than our secretary, right?" Someone chimed in angrily.

"Okay, you guys are shameless enough. What does it have to do with you if someone has money? It's your turn to borrow money just by opening your mouth?"

Some people feel that these people are going too far, and they must say a few words to Xu Shiyan.

The mother-in-law of Zhao Dahai's family ran a few steps to catch up with Xu Shiyan, "San'er, I have something to tell you. You must be aware of it."

"What's the matter, aunt?" Xu Shiyan turned around and asked.
