042 Meet the Rainbow

The world is made up of four basic elements - earth, water, wind and fire.

This is one of the arguments about the origin of the world.

Most of the spells about elemental attributes were developed based on this theory.

Humankind’s understanding of the world has always been like this——

See the appearance, put forward hypotheses, carefully demonstrate, and then use the results of the demonstration to compare with the actual objects.

People saw fire burning and water flowing, so they looked for the root cause behind it.

Therefore, the understanding of the elements of fire and water appeared in the history books of mankind.

People saw lightning and thunder, and saw drops of water turning into ice, so the elements of electricity, thunder, and ice also appeared in the academic manuals of mages.

When they have enough understanding, people try to master it.

The flame arrows, electric claws, freezing rays, etc. among the 0-level spells are spell formulas created based on the application of these elements.

It can be said that the Evocation faction is the main force in studying these elements.

Does Li Wen want to study flame balls? Electric arrows?

of course not.

These elements have been developed for many years. Will it be his turn to optimize and improve them?

Every existing spell has been verified and optimized by countless predecessors.

Simply changing a form is a new spell?

Just expect the association to accept the bill and foot the bill?

impossible.

Li Wen is not that boring either.

That's not how creation works.

If you want to play, make it exciting and subversive.

Li Wen found all the most basic element analysis, and also found all the spells related to elements below the third level.

The ancestors used elements to develop these practical spells, but it was difficult to pass on their understanding.

In other words, these various elements applied to actual things carry their original understanding.

Li Wen needs to study these spells and understand how they use these elements.

For example, why are flame arrows in the form of flame arrows? They cannot be balls, fluids or any other shape.

For example, why is the freeze ray a ray? Is it a laser-like form, not an ice ball? An ice sculpture? Or directly freezing the target?

Or in high-level spells...such as the third-level spell-Fireball, why is the fire element expressed in the form of explosion?

Not only the form, but also every other detail determines the presentation form of a spell.

These spells have been passed down for many years, and there must be an absolute reason why they exhibit this optimal form of expression.

Li Wen needed to use this to find out the unique properties of these elements, and then combine it with the elemental analysis of existing magic documents to understand all the characteristics of each elemental attribute itself.

Practice makes perfect.

Only through familiarity can we innovate.

The battle records I saw when interacting with players were just accidental and lucky.

And turning these accidents and luck into something that can actually be used requires Li Wen's own efforts.

Time passes slowly.

When I was studying, I couldn't notice the passage of time at all.

The sun moves westward until it sets.

With a charm of up to 3 points, all people who don't know Li Wen consciously or unconsciously ignore Li Wen's existence.

Like a broom in the corner, no one cares about it.

It was his stomach growling that reminded Li Wen.

Haven't eaten for a day.

Li Wen stood up and stretched.

There is no progress bar in learning, and he doesn't know how far he understands it, but currently he doesn't have the confidence to master even the most basic elements. This is definitely not something that can be learned overnight.

Don't get too obsessed.

Tomorrow I will take some time to go squat during the day to harvest the players' soul energy, and then come to the library in the evening to continue research.

A good balance between work and rest~

As for going to work...I'm afraid I don't have any time recently.

Li Wen made a decision.

The days just go by day by day.

In the blink of an eye, three or four days passed.

More than 3,000 players received messages one after another to redeem their deserved skill rewards, which also allowed Li Wen to obtain sufficient soul energy from his interactions with players.

610,000!

But this time Li Wen chose to keep it temporarily.

I don’t know how much it will cost for the attempt I envisioned. After all, this is an unprecedented attempt.

At least as far as Li Wen knew, no one had ever attempted such a move in the history of Gaia.

It was enough to subvert today's spell-casting system, and Li Wen was unsure.

In the afternoon of March 14, the sunlight outside the window slanted into the glass of the library, casting a golden glow on the side of Li Wen's face.

Ice, fire, thunder.

These three elements were what Li Wen first tried to analyze and understand.

After all, these three elements are mostly used in magic.

The more ready-made examples, the easier it will be for Li Wen to compare.

Noticing the changes in light and shadow, Li Wen raised his head from his book and looked out the window at the setting sun.

It's almost time to try it.

There is no end to knowledge.

The more you know, the more you don't know.

But with his current grasp, Li Wen gained a little more confidence.

After all, it's just the most basic part of the spell.

It was equivalent to the runes he used to analyze to form a 0-level spell.

An element and a rune are the basic elements that make up a spell.

In other words, some specific runes embody certain variations of elemental attributes.

Besides, Li Wen didn't have much ambition at first, so he first tried the water with three elements.

Trying something like this requires a quieter environment.

Li Wen stood up, left the place where he had been for several days, and prepared to go home.

But as soon as he went out, he found some wizards running around in the camp.

Li Wen stopped a mage and asked softly.

"what happens?"

The young mage glanced at the one-star-one-month badge on Li Wen's chest before saying.

"In the square, mages from other branches are here!"

"Oh~"

Is it the academic exchange of the branch that Miss Pie said? It’s finally here?

Li Wen hesitated for a few moments, then finally ran over.

Watching the fun~

favourite.

In the large square where the Mages Association resides, on the high platform that was once used to receive the legendary planeswalker Abyssin, a group of colorfully robed figures now stand.

Under the high platform, there were seven neat teams of young mages.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple, with clear distinction between Jing and Wei.

At first glance, it looks like a rainbow stretching across the square.

In Li Wen's ears, whispers of chatting among other mages could be heard.

"Did you see those adults in red robes? They are from the Gem City next door. They produce all kinds of magic gems there. Even the standard robes are studded with gems. They are really rich..."

"Where's the green one?"

"That's from Lingfeng City. It's backed by the Breeze Plain. They are rich in resources, have a strong magical aura, and are ancient cities with thousands of years of history. They are very powerful."

"Where are the yellow ones? They look so fierce~"

"They...the ones from Hantie City rely on the Black Crystal Forest and deal with the monsters in the forest all day long. They can't do anything without being vicious."

"Why do their robes have colors?"

"Don't you understand this? This is called the Rainbow Parliament. There are so many cities in the country, is it possible that the branches in each city send people to travel around? Of course, only the best cities among them have this qualification."

"Oh~"

There are new people every year, and there are old people every year.

Li Wen mingled among the crowd, listening to the popular science given by the old mages to the new mages.

On the high platform, the adults of the Rainbow Council and the branch president of Sword Wind City, Little Golden Beard, stood together, with smiles on their faces.

However, beneath the smiling face, there was a gentle questioning.

"Lingo, I heard that your Sword Wind City has developed a new trick. What is it called...Icacia Thunder Shower? When are you going to hand it over?"
