116. A new village

Luo Er looked at the somewhat unfamiliar village in front of him and was stunned for a moment. He even forgot to put down the donkey.

The dirt road that was originally made by stepping on it has been paved with gravel, and an extra bluestone step has been built next to it.

The houses in the village have also changed from dusty wooden houses to small brick buildings, with uniform white walls and red roofs, new and beautiful, just like small villas.

The open space in the middle of the village, which was barely a square, was filled with a small pool, with a few saplings planted on the edge, and the surrounding road was paved with colorful cobblestones, which looked quite beautiful.

As for Rolle's own village chief's house, an additional floor was built on the original foundation, with a small garden and a stone corridor at the back, with a lounge chair in the middle.

Overall, the village has become more beautiful, without destroying the peaceful and unique charm of the small mountain village. It also has a kind of simple elegance, which really gives it a sense of paradise.

I haven’t been back for more than two months, and I haven’t even finished a quarter. The village has turned out like this?

Luo Er was very shocked.

Just then, a neighbor who was busy in the fields noticed him and quickly greeted him:

"Village Chief! You are back!"

"Huh? This donkey...why is it riding you? Does the village chief have any special hobbies?"

Luo Er pouted, put the little donkey down, patted its head and said:

"Are you hungry? Come, I'll treat you to the buffet."

After that, he drove the little donkey into the neighbor's field and generously said:

"Don't be polite to me, just feel free to eat."

The neighbor couldn't help but regret his talkativeness...

Looking at the new look of the village, Luo Er's inner anxiety seemed to be diluted a bit, he slowed down and walked in slowly.

Immediately, more villagers noticed his return and shouted:

"The village chief is back! The village chief is finally back!"

"Village Chief! Come and see how our new village looks like. Isn't it beautiful?"

"Village Chief, everyone is living well without you!"

There were also a few neighbors who thought they were sensible and brought out various fruits and vegetables from home to welcome us.

But Luo Er declined their kindness, said a few casual greetings, and then said that he wanted to go find the strange villagers first.

After the entire village was renovated, the area was much larger than before. The old wooden houses had basically been moved, but the general direction remained the same. Rolle soon found the strange villagers under the leadership of an enthusiastic neighbor.

's new home.

It is still in the most remote corner of the village, but it is twice larger, and there are two more buildings on the left and right that look like a blacksmith's shop and a stonemason's shop.

this……

Luo Er temporarily suppressed the doubts in his heart and planned to solve the more important problems first.

So he knocked on the door politely and broke into the strange villager's home.

This guy was standing in front of a rather professional-looking workbench, holding a dropper in his hand and dripping some unknown purple liquid onto a piece of metal.

In response to Rohr's sudden intrusion, he didn't even look back. He was still focused on his own affairs. He didn't even shake his hands, allowing the purple liquid to slowly spread along the subtle lines on the metal piece.

The entire piece of metal was soon dyed an evil purple, and the material looked changed, becoming a bit like translucent frosted glass.

But strangely, the villager shook his head slightly, and then swept the discolored and deformed metal piece into the trash can next to him. Then he turned back and looked at Luo Er, with that devilish smirk on his face.

"Well...I'm back. A lot of things happened outside before, but I don't think you are interested in hearing..."

When Luo Er was about to pick out the key points directly, the other party magically spoke:

"Tell me……"

His voice is very low and magnetic, with a special smoky accent, which is very suitable for being a narrator in the theater without having to show that silly smile.

Luo Er was also shocked and said quickly:

"You are not mute?"

"Let's get to the point..."

Narrator... Oh no, the strange villager urged.

"All right……"

Roll shrugged.

"Probably... I went outside and saw my daughter fighting a few monsters and convincing a few people."

"The point is, there's something wrong with my left hand. It magically had the function of a space storage bag before, but then I don't know what happened, and it swallowed all the metal products inside!"

"Also, my sword is broken and I need a new one..."

Strangely, the villager didn't say anything anymore, but walked over, skillfully removed the prosthetic leg, and then looked at the fish bone-like mark on the back of his hand.

He observed the mark very carefully, and carefully reached out to touch it. After considering it for a moment, he said:

"Open."

Luo Er nodded, stretched out his right hand and touched the mark on the back of his hand.

The storage space was opened, and the tents, blankets, carrots and other items contained inside fell out.

The strange villager dug out the old prosthetic leg that Rohr had used before from a box in the corner, helped him connect it, and then returned to the workbench to study the changes in the prosthetic limb, treating Rohr like nothing.

Rohr shook his head helplessly, bent down to pick up the things that fell on the ground, and specially wrapped the pair of black stockings in the blanket for fear of being discovered, and then left here and returned to his home.

Just at this time, the fat man came back driving a carriage. When he saw Roel, he came over and gave him a warm hug, saying with a happy face:

"You're back! How are you doing outside?"

"It's pretty good. The outside world is very exciting."

Luo Er smiled and asked again:

"But what happened in the village? It turned into this?"

The fat man asked in surprise:

"Eh? Isn't this what you meant?"

Rohr: "?"

Fatty: "Didn't you send two telegrams to the village?"

"Yes, the meaning of my first letter was to ask about the situation in the village; the meaning of my second letter was to ask the tax official if he wanted to cause trouble?"

Roll explained his original intention of sending the telegram, and then said:

"Sending a telegram is paid per word. I'm thinking that after so many years of getting along with each other, we all know each other's ins and outs. Can even simple words convey meaning?"

"You couldn't have...mistaken your meaning, right?"

"Cough cough cough!"

The fat man coughed a few times, turned his head away slightly, trying to relieve the embarrassment on his face, and then continued:

"Well, of course we didn't get it wrong, of course we understand what you want to say..."

"Then why did the village suddenly become like this? Where did you get the money to purchase these materials?"

"It can't be that your wine is selling out, right?"

Roll asked again, and took out a bottle of fruit wine from the fat man's carriage, unscrewed the cap, and drank a few sips.

Fatty is the only one in the village who can make wine, and his craftsmanship is not bad. The fruit wine he brews is sour and sweet, with a fresh and refreshing taste. The alcohol content is very low. It is called wine, but it is actually more like a drink.

Rolle liked this very much.

Keli also likes it very much. She was greedy for this when she was a child. If she can practice sword hard, Luo Er can reward her with half a bottle to relieve her craving.

After that, the two of them also tried to sell the wine to the town down the mountain, but the sales were very mediocre. They often came back with half of the wine left after taking a cart, which basically made it cheaper for the villagers.

Everyone is accustomed to this.

"This matter starts with a foundation called 'Lucana'. Have you heard of them outside?"

The fat man himself opened a bottle of fruit wine and asked while drinking.

Roll nodded.

He had seen this foundation in the newspaper. It is one of the empire's oldest charitable foundations. It has a history of hundreds of years and is committed to various charitable relief activities.

However, the province of Kodo, the poorest and most backward province in the empire, often did not receive their help. Instead, in wealthy places such as the Imperial Capital and Newlin, from time to time, poor families would receive relief and be featured in newspapers.

But in the fat man's description, it seems that this poor-sighted foundation suddenly discovered the poor and backward Kodo Province, and specially allocated tens of millions of EST to it, of which small mountain villages were allocated 150,000.

"Then we used the money to buy some materials and build a blacksmith shop. We worked together to turn the village into what it is today!"

The fat man continued to explain.

"Is that so? That's good, but if I were here, I would definitely use the money to pave the road out first."

Luo Er had no doubts, but he felt that it was a waste to use the money to repair the village.

If it is used to build roads, the future development of the village will definitely be better.

Sigh... After all, these villagers don't have any long-term vision. Without their own leaders, they only care about the small profits in front of them. Sure enough, you still can't be too reassured about them!

But having said that, this can be regarded as a dereliction of duty as the village chief. He went out for so long and didn't come back...

Luo Er felt a little guilty, and casually chatted with the fat man about what he had seen outside, and then went back to his home to take a shower.

As soon as he closed the door, many voices suddenly came from Fatty's mind:

"How's it going? He doesn't suspect it, does he? Has Yuan passed?"

The fat man didn't say anything, and directly used a very magical method to convey the thoughts in his mind:

"No, he always trusts me."

"Huh...it's so dangerous, I almost thought I was going to be exposed..."

"Has the foundation made arrangements? There won't be any loopholes, right?"

"No problem, I handled it very well, perfectly..."

The fat man replied confidently.

"But it's still not appropriate. As long as you are human, you will leave flaws. How about I solve these flaws?"

"Absolutely not!"

The fat man said very forcefully.

"These people are old friends with me, so we can't hurt people's lives for such a trivial matter..."

"Besides, if you hadn't acted recklessly, we wouldn't have ended up in this situation!"
