Chapter 35 Looking for a part-time job

As if grasping at straws, she suddenly thought of her good friend Ning Beibei.

"Ning Beibei said that she hadn't seen me for a long time, and we made an appointment to go to the cafeteria to eat together after get off work."

After saying that, she quickly lowered her head and rinsed the facial cleanser off her face, secretly praying that the other party would not notice anything strange.

Wen Siheng in the mirror said nothing, and stared quietly at the girl next to him whose ears turned red whenever she lied.

The silver sports car reversed into the garage and parked into the faculty parking space behind the architecture department building.

"Remember to get up again in ten minutes." Jian Anran kept in mind her repeated instructions when unbuckling her seat belt.

Wen Siheng smiled and nodded, watching her white T-shirt disappear behind the corner, and thoughtfully took out her mobile phone from her briefcase.

Twenty minutes have passed, and Jian Anran was sorting out information at her workstation, her eyes occasionally glancing at the time in the lower right corner of the computer desktop.

Twenty minutes have passed and Wen Siheng still hasn't come up.

Today, the only ones in the office today are senior Mi Yingying and senior student Song Qi with glasses. It’s almost half past nine and still no sight of Xiangyi and senior student Gao Feng in a plaid shirt.

Thirty-six minutes after Jane went upstairs safely, the office door was finally pushed open again.

In full view of everyone, Wen Siheng took a cup of packaged coffee and placed it on Jian Anran's seat.

Jane Anran:?

Raising her head and winking at him, Jian Anran's face suddenly turned as red as a tomato, and she peeked at the seniors standing aside from the corner of her eyes from time to time.

As if he didn't understand what she meant, Wen Siheng lowered his head and raised the corners of his mouth.

"Oh——?" Mi Yingying dragged out her voice, "Is the teacher partial? Why is it only for the younger students?"

Even Song Qi, who had always been oblivious to what was going on outside the window, couldn't help but raise his head and use the knuckles of his index fingers to prop up his thick black-rimmed glasses.

Wen Siheng raised his left hand and shook it. It was four cups of coffee packed together. "Everyone who sees it has a share."

"Oh my god, thank you, teacher!" Mi Yingying stood up with a bang, holding the bottom of the packaging bag with one hand and taking the coffee with the other.

"Aren't they here yet?" Wen Siheng pointed to the empty seats of Xiangyi and Gao Feng.

Mi Yingying said while sharing the coffee: "Xiangyi said there was something going on at home, and Gao Feng also said there was something going on at home."

"Who knows if they went somewhere together?" Mi Yingying added.

It can be heard that she deliberately lowered the volume, but the loudness was just right, just enough for everyone in the office to hear.

"Gao Feng and Xiangyi together?" Song Qi couldn't help but ask.

"Senior, didn't you notice?" Mi Yingying said, "Gao Feng and Xiangyi are together."

"This." Song Qi didn't seem very surprised by the answer, and then he immersed himself in his computer.

Apparently only Jian Anran in the office was slightly surprised by this answer. She only knew that Gao Feng often showed his kindness to Xiangyi, but she didn't expect that they were still interested in cp.

Just as he was about to turn around and enter the small office, he felt a small pulling force behind him. Wen Siheng lowered his head, and someone grabbed his clothes tightly from behind.

When his eyes fell on that small hand, the other person's hand immediately let go.

"Thank you, teacher, it's very sweet." Jian Anran's eyebrows were curved and her cheeks had slight dimples.

Everyone else got coffee, but only Jian Anran got hot chocolate.

Once, she accidentally mentioned to Wen Siheng that she had a slight caffeine intolerance.

As soon as the door of the small office behind her closed, a new message popped up on Jian Anran's phone.

[Elder Tang: Still a little worse than you]

It took a long time to wait for the other party's reply.

【Jane:[ok]】

It’s not even a cute emoticon, but the yellow OK tool that comes with WeChat. As expected, you still need Jian Anran to master it.

After the people in the small office read the news, one afternoon passed and only 30% of the things on the To-Do-List were completed.

As soon as the five-thirty bell rang, the louver grille of the small office was gently opened with a sharp-jointed index finger.

Jian Anran's desk is empty, and the blue interface of the computer is still spinning——

Shutting down.

Before get out of class ended, Jian Anran hurriedly stuffed her water bottle and mobile phone into her bag, and rushed out of the office as if she was running away as soon as get out of class was over.

The dormitory area is not too far from the teaching area, and she returned to the dormitory in less than ten minutes.

As soon as I opened the door, I met Ning Beibei who had just woken up from her nap.

"Why are you back?" Ning Beibei asked, rubbing her sleepy eyes.

"Don't tell me," Jian Anran slumped down on the chair after throwing her bag on the table, "I'm running away."

"What way to run? She can't fly when he chases her?" After Ning Beibei said this, she sat down and laughed.

"That's not the case," Jian Anran shook her head, then nodded, "It seems to be more or less the case."

He briefly and concisely summarized with Ning Beibei the story of how her family cut off her living expenses and she fled in a hurry with a gold bracelet.

"Bang!" Ning Beibei hammered the table, filled with indignation.

"What! Can you still hear such weird things in 2023?"

"At that time, I felt something was wrong when I asked you to go on a blind date! Do you mean to drive you out?"

"No, little Jane, I'm telling you, don't pay attention to them in the future. People like this will come to suck your blood when you become famous."

"I've seen a lot of these online..."

Hearing the phrase "prosperous career", Jian Anran clasped her fists and interrupted: "I accept your good advice."

Ning Beibei was amused by her serious look and laughed out loud, forgetting what she wanted to say next.

"Then what are your plans next? Tell Professor Wen?" Ning Beibei asked.

"I feel like Professor Wen will help you if you just tell him."

Shaking her head, Jian Anran immediately rejected the idea, "We agreed to break up after the incident."

"Since it's a fruitless relationship, I don't want to involve it too much."

"Then what are you doing with me now? Just stay away." Ning Beibei said helplessly.

"To be happy in life, you need to have all the fun?" Jian Anran said seriously.

"I'm thinking about finding a part-time job. The office assistant job now earns 1,500 a month. If I can find another part-time job, it should be able to cover all my living expenses."

"You said that, I suddenly remembered," Ning Beibei climbed onto the bed and unplugged the charging phone.

"I used to frequent a coffee shop. Yesterday I saw that the store manager was looking for part-time workers. Would you like to take a look?"

"Yes! Where is the coffee shop?" Jian Anran seemed to have finally seen an oasis after seven days of asceticism in the desert.

Ning Beibei shook her head, "I don't know where it is. I only ordered takeout. It should be not far from the school. Can I push the store manager's WeChat account to you?"

After pushing the WeChat business card, the other party quickly became a friend.

After a brief exchange online, the store manager immediately asked Jian Anran if she had time to go over and take a look at it in the evening. If she felt like it, she could start work immediately.

"Do you want me to go with you?" Ning Beibei asked.

"No, please Miss Ning, I am a 22-year-old adult after all." After Jian Anran said goodbye to Ning Beibei, she immediately took her bag and went to the interview.

When she got to the door, she turned around and said, "Thank you. I'll treat you to dinner if I apply."

"Take it easy, I won't miss your meal." Ning Beibei waved her hand.

The coffee shop is just one stop away from the school subway, and Jian Anran found it quickly following the location given by the store manager.

"Ding bell——" The moment the wooden door was pushed open, the wind chime on the door rang.

Sitting on the bar is a girl wearing a sky blue dress, with long black hair wrapped in blue ribbons.

"Eh? Senior Sister Xiangyi is here too?"
