Chapter 52 Monday Dinner

I just remembered that when I first came to the office, I had heard that the group had a regular dinner together every Monday, but there were too many things going on a while ago, so no one mentioned it.

Now that all the things that need to be dealt with have been dealt with, and the topic of the competition is going smoothly, Monday's dinner is naturally on the agenda again.

She doesn’t spend much time with everyone, and Jian Anran doesn’t really like such group activities.

But when I think about it, I already declined once when I first came here. If I refuse again this time, it seems that I am a little out of place.

After hesitating for a moment, she nodded.

"Great!" Mi Yingying happily took out her mobile phone, "I have to book a table with the boss first, their store has become very popular recently..."

"Well," Wen Siheng said suddenly, and everyone turned to look at him, "I'll go too."

Song Qi's hand, which was typing on the keyboard just now, stopped momentarily. Mi Yingying suddenly raised her head and opened her mouth as if she had seen a ghost in the daytime.

Even Xiangyi, who had just opened the door and came in, was stunned. The hand that he wanted to reach out to close the door was hanging in the air.

Sensing the suddenly solidified atmosphere in the office, Wen Siheng smiled awkwardly, "Aren't you welcome?"

"No, no, no!" Mi Yingying quickly denied, "Then I will reserve five people."

Xiangyi couldn't help but cast his eyes on Jian Anran, frowned slightly, then straightened his eyebrows, and said with a smile, "Good morning, everyone."

The graduate school semester started at the end of August, and it has been a full month now.

In the past month, Wen Siheng had been politely declined when we called for dinner parties, so this time he even offered it, which was really surprising.

Mi Yingying was eager to find someone to gossip about this matter. She looked up and saw Song Qi immediately immersed in his own little world and curled her lips. She turned to look at Xiangyi who had just sat down and took out a small mirror to touch up her makeup. She shook her head.

He shook his head and then turned his target to Jian Anran.

"Hey, why do you think Professor Wen is acting out of character and suddenly wants to have a dinner party?" Mi Yingying looked in the direction of the small office.

"He has never participated in our activities before."

Jian Anran shook her head like a sieve, "I don't understand him."

"School sister," Xiangyi smiled and waved to her, "Please come over here."

After looking at each other with Mi Yingying, Jian Anran hesitated a little, but she still stood up and walked to Xiangyi. What opened on the computer screen was the first draft of the topic ppt she had compiled.

Xiangyi raised his head with his usual faint smile.

"It's nothing, just how can the format of this ppt be widescreen? The school girl has never done a report before?"

"Is there any problem with wide screen? Now computers basically use this display format." Jian Anran asked cluelessly.

"Ah?" Xiangyi's eyes opened wide, and he half-covered his mouth with his hand, his expression a bit exaggerated.

She made a fuss and said: "I thought this basic quality was necessary for architectural students."

"We will need to print out text materials when bidding, and the leaders present at the meeting will need to have a copy."

"The printing format is basically A3, how can it be displayed in widescreen? This will bring a lot of trouble to subsequent students——"

The person responsible for subsequent supplements and corrections of materials is Xiangyi. The direction of this sentence is self-evident.

It implies that she is not well-educated enough and brings a lot of trouble to others.

Although she felt uncomfortable, Jian Anran still said "hmm".

"Sorry, I'll change it now."

"Hey -" Xiangyi sighed, "This will affect the progress later."

The corners of her mouth barely curved, and Jian Anran said with a stiff smile: "I'll do it as soon as possible."

Not wanting to hear Xiangyi’s tea talk anymore, Jian Anran opened the ppt and started to revise it crazily.

During the lunch break, Mi Yingying came up to her and asked, "Senior girls, do you want to go have dinner together?"

Shaking her head, Jian Anran refused: "I want to take advantage of my lunch break to revise the ppt first."

At that time, I looked up and saw that everyone else in the office had already left.

Mi Yingying patted her shoulder, leaned into her ear and said, "Don't pay too much attention to Xiangyi. She always likes to choke others, so this matter is not so urgent."

After hearing Jian Anran say "It's okay" twice, Mi Yingying turned back three times and finally went to eat with confidence.

After finishing the ppt, she went to the vending machine downstairs to buy a bottle of drink. When Jane came back, she found a sandwich and a bottle of chocolate oat milk on her seat.

When I looked back, I saw that the lights in the small office had been dimmed.

When they were unpacking the sandwich, the others just came back from their meal. Seeing Jian Anran biting the sandwich, Mi Yingying picked up the shopping bag in her hand and shook it.

"I originally wanted to bring something to my junior schoolmate, but I didn't expect that my junior schoolgirl was already prepared."

"Takeout, takeout." Jian Anran said with a smile, "Senior Xiangyi, I have sent the ppt to your email. Please confirm it when you are free."

Xiangyi responded, pulled up his chair and sat down, opened the document and browsed it several times. He really couldn't find anything wrong, so he could only continue to deepen it based on the original.

As soon as he walked into the office, Wen Siheng heard Mi Yingying shouting: "Registration is closed! The list of participating studios has come out!"

Presumably in order to increase the popularity of the competition, the organizer specially compiled a list of the major design institutes and studios participating this time.

"ZH Studio?" Mi Yingying almost screamed out the name.

When she turned around, she saw Wen Siheng standing behind her. She was startled. Mi Yingying dodged to the side, staggered and almost fell.

After standing firm, she raised the phone screen in front of him, "Teacher, look! ZH wants to participate in this competition too!"

Glancing at the screen, a dim light flashed in Wen Siheng's eyes.

"Then it seems we have to work harder." Then he came back to his senses and put on his business smile.

ZH Studio’s reputation in the industry is resounding, and its founder ZH is the first female winner of the Pritzker Architecture Prize since its inception, so her status can be imagined.

There is a high probability that ZH himself will not participate in the design of a competition of this magnitude, but the name of the studio is enough to create a lot of momentum for this competition.

Even Song Qi couldn't help but sigh. In recent years, ZH Studio can be said to have swept the bidding and competitions of major projects, winning almost every battle.

He looked back at the direction of the small office. The louvered grille was not raised. Wen Siheng was still flipping through a magazine calmly inside, wondering if his team was just there to act as the denominator.

When the get out of class bell rang, everyone started to save files, shut down the computer, and pack things. The reserved dining venue was a newly opened izakaya, not far from the school, and everyone planned to take the subway there together.

"You go ahead, I'll drive and I'll be there soon." Wen Siheng collected his things in a leisurely manner.

Going down to the bottom of the building, everyone curiously poked their heads in the direction of the parking lot.

Sure enough, it's still the two-seater sports car.

The size of the izakaya is not large. In addition to a row of bar counters surrounding the operating table, there are only a few small tatami tables.

There are only five people in their group, and there is just enough room for them to sit at a crowded table.

It was different for the three or five tall and strong foreigners next to them. They had to fight for two tables to squeeze in. If you look closely, you can see that there are a few oriental faces among them.

The other party was in a high mood, talking loudly and speaking loudly. Jian Anran and the others could only hear each other clearly if they leaned close to each other's ears.

Even Xiangyi couldn't help but frown. The boss at the bar hesitated to speak, but couldn't stop him directly.

As soon as the direction to the door lighted up, Wen Siheng opened the wooden door of the izakaya and came in. He was stunned for a moment when he saw the people at the table next to him.

"Hey Jere, it's that you? What a nice surprise!" (Is it you, Jere? What a surprise!) The foreigner near the door suddenly shouted excitedly.
