Chapter 591 The Khitan Family

The Khitan people are a nomadic people in ancient China. They live in the border areas and northeastern China and adopt a semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral lifestyle.

There were eight tribes in the ancient Khitan, and Nieri was the ancestor of the Liao Dynasty.

The Khitan people have the habit of selecting a khan every three years. In the early period, the khans were all produced from the Dahe family, in the middle period, from the Yaonian family, and finally, the unified Khitan was established by the Yili Jin of the Yelu clan of the Diela tribe of Khitan.

At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Yelu Abao, the leader of the Khitan nobles, took the opportunity to establish the Liao Dynasty, which was consistent with the Five Dynasties and the Northern Song Dynasty.

The customs and habits of the Khitan people are different from those of the Han people.

The Khitan people have fair hair, and their clothing usually consists of a robe with a left hem, a round collar and narrow sleeves, and the trousers are placed inside the boots.

Among the Khitans of the Liao Kingdom, only those in the royal clan and the descendants' clan had surnames. Other Khitans outside the two clans did not have surnames.

Most of the Khitan people have integrated into other ethnic groups in northern China, such as the Han, Jurchen, Mongolian, and ancient ethnic groups.

Since the Golden Horde was the overlord of the West for a long time from the 13th to the 15th century, the Mongols called northern China Khitan.

Legend has it that there are two rivers flowing in the northern prairie. One rushes down from the southern end of Daxing, An, and Lingnan. The Khitan people call it Xilamulun River, also known as "Yellow Water", and the other is written as "Huang River" in literature;

The river comes from the west end of Yiwulu Mountain and is named Laoha River, also known as "Tu River".

The Khitan nation arose in the Xilamulun River and Laoha River basins. The migration and integration of ethnic groups in this area were very frequent and complex.

The Khitan people have this legend about their ancestor. A "celestial maiden" who had lived in the heavenly palace for a long time felt the boredom and loneliness of the heavenly palace. She drove a green ox cart down the Huangshui River from the "Pingdi Pine Forest".

It happened that an "immortal" rode a snow-white horse and rode the horse from the "Ma Men Mountain" to the Suitu River all the way to the east.

Ao Niu and Hakuba met in Mount Konoha at the intersection of Huangshui River and Tuhe River.

The goddess and the immortal scolded the green ox, loosened the reins of the horse, and walked toward each other. They fell in love, united, and multiplied.

Although the story of the green cow and the white horse is widely circulated, there are few records in the historical materials about the Liao Dynasty. The only record is found in the Liao History Volume 37 Geography 1 "Yongzhou" on the Kyoto Road: There is Konoha Mountain, and there is a mountain built on it.

In the Khitan Ancestral Temple, Qishou Khan is in the south temple, Ke Dun is in the north temple, and the statues of the Two Saints and the Eight Sons are painted.

According to legend, a god rode a white horse and headed east from the Futu River in Mayu Mountain. A goddess drove a green ox chariot down the Panhuang River from the plain pine forest to Konoha Mountain. The two rivers merged, met, became spouses, and gave birth to eight sons.

Later, the clan gradually became more prosperous and divided into eight tribes.

During every military march and at the Spring and Autumn Festival, white horses and green oxen must be used to show that the origin is not forgotten.

This is undoubtedly the most authoritative and accurate account of the legend of the Green Ox and White Horse. From this we can see that it is true that the Khitan people originated in the Xilamulun and Laoha river basins.

Li Lao and Su Jiu both knew some information about Khitan.

The origin legend of the Khitan clan was once wildly discussed in Chinese academic circles.

The Khitan nation, which once founded the Liao Dynasty that lasted for 219 years, suddenly disappeared from historical records since the end of the Yuan Dynasty and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty.

But in real life, does this nation cease to exist like time has passed?

This question has been questioned by many scholars.

Some experts have made this conclusion and metaphor: When the Mongols in the Yuan Dynasty established the Mongol Empire across the Eurasian continent, they fought for years. The Khitans who frequently used troops were conquered and dispersed to various places. Some maintained larger ethnic groups.

For example, the Daur people continue to survive as an ethnic group, while some have been assimilated by the local people.

The latter is the most difficult to find, because the Khitan people have maintained the "exogamous system" for more than a thousand years, so the Khitan people in the pure sense no longer exist.

After continuous migration, isolation and integration, most of the Khitan people melted like ice thrown into the sea. A professional term is called "descendants in the molecular sense".

Can these melted "ice" still be found?

Only Su Jiu knew in his heart that the Khitans had always existed. They had always existed on the land of China through family inheritance.

Moreover, the Khitan clan's status in the Feng Shui world is also very important. Of course, if it were not for their defeat and being hunted by people in the Feng Shui world, the Khitan clan would not remain anonymous. There is actually a very big origin in this, but

This is a digression here, so I won’t say much.

Su Jiu knew clearly.

Fuxin is the hometown of the Khitan people, which has long been recognized by historians.

Since the Northern Wei Dynasty, the Khitan people have been active in Fuxin. The Liao Dynasty was founded in 907, and the country was named Khitan.

Since the founding of the Liao Dynasty by Yelu Abaoji, the Taizu of the Liao Dynasty, throughout the Liao Dynasty, the Khitan rulers regarded Fuxin as their "hinterland".

It is said that there are 9 Zuotouxiazhou in Fuxin today, including Suizhou, Shunzhou, Haozhou, and Huanzhou in the early Liao Dynasty, Huizhou, Chengzhou, and Hengzhou in the middle period, and another Luzhou whose era is unclear.

.

At that time, the population of these nine states was more than 190,000. If the population of the army and troops were added, the number could reach more than 200,000, of which Khitans accounted for more than 10%.

After the fall of Liao Dynasty, where did the Khitans from Fuxin go? How many Khitans from other places flowed to Fuxin? Which ethnic groups did they melt into?

Even Su Jiu didn't know this.

Therefore, the Khitan clan has become a great secret in the Feng Shui world and even in China.

No one knows where the Khitan clan has gone.

Maybe it has something to do with that incident, but who can say for sure?

"Mr. Li, if my judgment is correct, the Li family should be targeted by the Khitans." Su Jiu said his conclusion calmly.

"Hasn't the Khitan clan disappeared in the long river of history?" After hearing Su Jiu's words, Mr. Li said subconsciously.

Mr. Li is not an ordinary person. As the current representative of the Li family, he has access to some things that ordinary people cannot.

In the eyes of the world, the two words Khitan have actually become history long ago.

"Mr. Li, you are wrong. The Khitan clan has not disappeared, they have just become anonymous. They do not appear in the world, but they have always been present in the Feng Shui world for hundreds of years."

Su Jiu spoke slightly and refuted Mr. Li's words.

He knew very well that the strength of the Khitan clan in the Feng Shui world was no weaker than that of the original Jiuding Guardian Family.

If the Feng Shui world is really divided into good and evil, then the strength of the Khitan clan can be said to account for two-thirds of the evil sect.

Just from this point of view, we can see how terrifying and powerful the Khitan clan's position in the Feng Shui world is. To be continued.
