Chapter 683

The little monk said slowly, and then closed the side door.

When Xiao Hongyun heard what the young monk said, he didn't come back to his senses for a long time.

"The Buddha Invitation Ceremony..."

Xiao Hongyun murmured a few words at this moment.

As a Buddhist believer, I naturally understand the ritual of inviting Buddha.

Inviting the Buddha is usually only held when the temple is first built. This Youmin Temple has been in existence for so many years. At this time, the temple is closed to invite the Buddha.

This news made Xiao Hongyun unable to react for a long time.

However, this is not the most shocking thing.

What really shocked him was that those who could perform the Buddha-inviting ceremony were all enlightened monks. Ordinary monks were unable to perform this ceremony.

It can be said that he doesn’t even have the qualifications.

"Master Xumu is not qualified to hold a ceremony to invite the Buddha. Is there an eminent monk coming?"

Xiao Hongyun murmured.

It was at this time that the sides of the temple opened again.

A young man in a white shirt walked slowly from a distance.

This young man, who looked to be in his twenties, was carrying a shabby white backpack.

Beautiful features.

Walking step by step, such a young man is very ordinary and inconspicuous on the road.

The side of the temple slowly opened.

Several monks came out from the side, and the leader was none other than Master Xumu whom he was talking about just now.

"Amitabha, Almsgiver Su is here!"

Master Xumu shouted the Buddha's name, took a step forward, and greeted Su Jiu.

Yes, this young man in a white shirt is none other than Su Jiu.

"I'm sorry for bothering you, Master Xumu, but I'm still greeting you personally." Su Jiu said politely.

"Almsgiver Su, come into the temple! The time is coming soon, everything is ready!" Master Xu Mu made a move with one hand, signaling Su Jiu to enter the temple door first.

"Okay!" Su Jiu nodded without refusing. There was no need to talk about priorities at this time. She took a step forward and started walking forward.

Under Xiao Hongyun's gaze, the group entered the temple through the side door.

The side door of the temple slowly closed.

"Who is this young man? Master Xu Mu can actually come to greet him in person!" Xiao Hongyun's mind was suddenly filled with doubts.

Inside Youmin Temple.

In front of the bronze statue of the Big Buddha.

Facing Su Jiuchi.

In front of the Buddha statue, all the monks in the temple had gathered at this moment.

With Su Jiu as the center, in front of the bronze statue of the Buddha, a yellow cloth covers the sacrificial table.

Three pillars of incense rise slowly into the sky.

"Dong~~"

A low bell resounded throughout the temple.

The thousand-year-old ancient bell of Youmin Temple rings in this bustling city.

One sound!

Twice!

Nine sounds!

The bells did not stop after ringing nine times, the bells continued.

Ten sounds!

Fifty blasts!

"What's going on? Why are the ancient bells ringing in Youmin Temple?"

"have no idea?"

"For many years, the bell has never rung more than nine times."

"Yeah? I wonder what big thing happened at Youmin Temple?"

Some elderly people who were doing morning exercises near Youmin Temple suddenly became confused when they heard the bell.

Youmin Temple, which has a history of more than 1,500 years, rarely rings its bells.

At this moment, the bells in the temple were ringing, something big must have happened.

The attention of almost everyone who heard the bell was attracted.

Xiao Hongyun at the door was also shocked at this moment.

"Looking at this situation, it is running towards the 108th sound. It seems that the enlightened monk is really asking for the Buddha. He is really asking for the Buddha. The real Buddha will definitely come today."

"No, I have to find a way to get in..."

Xiao Hongyun turned around a few times and murmured.

"Dad, let's go have breakfast first!" Xiao Kang was confused for a while and didn't hear clearly what his father said. He just felt a little hungry and then suggested.

"Xiao Kang, go on your own! Dad still has something to do!" Xiao Hongyun heard this and motioned for his son to go first.

The sound of the bell continued, reaching Xiao Hongyun's ears, and the sound penetrated into his heart.

He knew very well that he was obviously heading towards the one hundred and eight bells.

It is normal for temple bells to ring, but bells that ring 108 times are basically unheard of.

To put it simply, if you don’t have the connection with the Great Buddha, you won’t be able to encounter this kind of bell that rings one hundred and eight times.

The name in Xiao Hongyun's heart is Abi. The Buddhist bell is a Buddhist bell. As the name suggests, it is used in temples to perform Buddhist services, or to summon monks to go to the temple, chant sutras and do homework. In addition, when getting up, sleeping, eating, etc., the bell is used as a sign.

Therefore, different bells ring for different purposes.

But there are also many things to pay attention to when ringing the bell. "The big bell is the signal of the beginning of the jungle. If you strike it at dawn, you will break the long night and alert you to sleep; if you strike it at dusk, you will feel the dark road and clear up the darkness."

Generally, the bells will ring no more than nine times on weekdays.

And these one hundred and eight sounds have a special meaning.

The rule of "one hundred and eight" is related to "nine", because in ancient China, "nine" was considered to have extremely high and auspicious meanings. And the twelve times of "nine" is exactly "one hundred and eight", which is the combination of "nine" and "nine".

The artistic conception of "nine" is pushed to the extreme.

According to Buddhism, nine is the ultimate.

One hundred and eight represents the ultimate, all living beings.

For example, one hundred and eight Arhats, one hundred and eight martial arts, etc.

The Buddhist bell is used for praying, influencing, and saving sentient beings.

The bells in monk temples usually ring once in the morning and evening.

Right now, the bells are ringing in a regular pattern.

Xiao Hongyun knew some of the rules of Buddhism very well. To the ears of ordinary people, there was nothing special about the sound of the bell.

However, in his ears, he knocked eighteen times hard, eighteen times slowly, then eighteen times more slowly, and repeated twice, for a total of one hundred and eight times.

Right now, it has been fifty-four times, and if it repeats another cycle, it will be one hundred and eight times.

As for why the bell is set to strike one hundred and eight times?

There are two versions: one is: "One hundred and eight bells are struck to correspond to the twelve months, the twenty-four solar terms, and the number of seventy-two periods (five days are one period)." Together they are one hundred and zero.

Eight, which symbolizes the cycle of reincarnation and eternity.

This shows that in an agricultural society, people hope to be blessed with abundant food and clothing through Buddha.

Another way of saying it is that Buddhism believes that people have 108 kinds of worries, and 108 knocks can relieve their worries.

The bell-ringing verse says: "When you hear the sound of the bell, your worries will be lightened; your wisdom will grow and you will be enlightened; you will leave hell and emerge from the pit of fire; you will become a Buddha and save all living beings."

Therefore, chanting sutras or mantras 108 times, using 108 Buddha beads, and even 108 Bodhisattvas are all intended to eliminate people's troubles and achieve the best and auspicious meanings.

The bell rings one hundred and eight times to eliminate all troubles in the world. It is called the "Hundred Eight Bells" in Buddhism. Generally, the bells and drums in temples are struck every morning and evening, called morning bells and evening drums, to alert practitioners that they should be diligent and diligent and be careful not to let go.

.

?At this time, Xiao Hongyun's heart moved.
