Chapter 747 Ghost Village

The legend of Fengmen Village is not very old, but only started to be spread in modern times.`

Su Jiu had also heard about the legend of Fengmen Village.

However, Su Jiu himself did not pursue it.

Fengmen Village became an empty village after the collective migration of the whole village in 1981. It had been inhabited before.

In 1963, three young people from outside were attracted by the unique cottages and scenery of Fengmen Village, so they brought their easels to Fengmen Village to sketch.

On the day I entered the village, I happened to catch up with a funeral held a few days ago. The deceased was a family of three who died suddenly of high fever.

The funeral customs in Fengmen Village are very different from the outside world, but there are still some similarities with the outside world. On the way to the funeral, the pillow that the deceased slept on was thrown in the middle of the road.

It is said that when these three young men came to the village, they saw a pillow in the middle of the road and kicked it to the side of the road. This was just the beginning of the evil nature of this incident.

After arriving in Fengmen Village, the three people went to the village committee to arrange accommodation, and the village party secretary gave the three young people the house vacated by the family of three.

Although they heard that someone had just died in the house, the three young men were really timid, but no one dared to speak at that time. On the one hand, they were afraid of causing trouble to the fellow villagers, and on the other hand, the three young men did not want to give in.

`

However, strange things have happened to the three young people since they moved in. They often hear children calling mommy outside in the middle of the night, but when they go out to check, there is no one around the house.

In addition, the three of them had the same nightmare one after another, with ghosts crawling into bed in the middle of the night.

One day, one of them opened the closet to look for clothes during the day and suddenly screamed and fainted. When he woke up, he said that he saw a ghost face hidden behind the clothes in the closet, which was exactly the same as the ghost face in his dream.

Others rummaged through the closet to look for it, but found nothing strange. On the same day, the fainted man developed a high fever.

And the next day after that, someone dreamed about the ghost face again. When he woke up, he heard the sound of rushing water in the yard outside. So he lay down on the window and looked at it. Under the moonlight, he saw the back of a woman naked in the yard.

He was taking a bath next to the well, washing his body with ladle after ladle of water. The young man was surprised and wondering, when suddenly the woman turned her head, smiled weirdly at him, and jumped into the well.

The young man's first reaction was not to save the person, but to stay there stiffly. Because he didn't know whether the person who jumped into the well was a human or a ghost, he was in a daze for a long time before he woke up the others and said that someone had jumped into the well and asked everyone to go and see.

When everyone looked with flashlights, they found that the water surface in the well was calm and there were no ripples.

The stone platform beside the well was dry, and the basins and ladles were also dry and had not been touched by water.

Everyone just laughed at this young man because he wanted women so much that he was in over his head.`

However, after that, the man often dreamed of the woman jumping into the water. He also had a high fever.

The third young man was very worried when he saw that his two friends had high fevers. However, the road to the county was too far, so he had to find a doctor in the village, a barefoot doctor. The villagers also sent some antipyretics.

But one night, this man also dreamed of a ghostly face, pressing on him and suffocating him. When he woke up, he found that his companion was pressing on him, strangling him desperately, shouting: strangle you, strangle you.

.Fortunately, another companion was awakened by the shouting and quickly got up and knocked the crazy companion unconscious with a candlestick.

After that, the three people finally realized the evil nature of living in this house and hurriedly found the elders in the village. The elders asked the three people if they had done anything against the village customs. The young people said that they had been respectful since entering the village.

Dear, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, and I didn’t care at all about kicking the pillow.

So, the old man took the three young men, along with the slaughtered chickens and wine, to worship in front of the graves enshrining the stone statues and the family of three.

After that, the fever gradually subsided and the nightmares gradually disappeared.

Later, a Feng Shui master analyzed the reasons for encountering ghosts at night. Places with good Feng Shui found that in addition to raising people, they also raised ghosts. Moreover, like Fengmen Village, it is customary for humans and ghosts to live together, and people cannot leave the village after death. Although a family of three has died suddenly, the bones are still there.

Buried near a house, it could be a ghost coming home, or even a ghost going to bed in the middle of the night.

Due to the orientation of the houses and roads in the village, there are too many ditches, winding alleys, and the houses are built on top of the terrain, ghosts are trapped in a maze-like village and it is difficult to get out.

In addition, there is pagan worship, and there is neither Buddhism nor Taoism. As a result, the village is outside the Three Realms, and there is no Zhengyang thing to suppress it. The two previous stone statues cannot suppress more and more ghosts.

This is why the village is so dark.

Speaking of Fengmen Village, we have to mention some weird customs about this village.

Although Fengmen Village is located in the Central Plains, it has its own "burial custom" that is completely different from the traditional customs of the Han people - the corpses in Fengmen Village are buried with masks. This phenomenon is common in the tombs of pharaohs in Egypt, but not in China.

Common.

After death, Chinese people pay attention to keeping their ears and eyes clear and not covering foreign objects. Why does Fengmen Village bury the corpse wearing a mask?

Chinese people refer to ghosts and souls as dirty things and evil things. They will stay away from coffins, paper money, and shrouds when they encounter them, and they will even spit on them for fear of getting bad luck.

People's living communities and graves are often separated by boundaries, such as a river, or the cemetery is located on an uninhabited hill or forest. No one would place a grave in their own yard or village.

Fengmen Village is different. It emphasizes that "people and ghosts live together, and people cannot leave the village after death." After death, people cannot be buried outside the village. They must find an open space for burial near the deceased's home.

The valley where Fengmen Village is located is called Ghost Valley for no reason. It is named after "there are bones in the ditches and ghosts in the bends".

Because humans and ghosts live in the same village, in order to calm the ghosts, there is a method of wearing masks on the dead bodies.

People are in awe of gods, and their awe often leads them to worship both gods and ghosts. However, there is such a temple in Fengmen Village, which worships neither Buddha nor gods, but two strange puppets.

, a pair of statues of a man and a woman wearing official uniforms of the Ming Dynasty.

Some Feng Shui masters speculate that there are two possibilities for this pair. One may be more prominent ancestors, but the ancestors are mostly enshrined in the form of tablets in the ancestral hall of a certain clan, rather than in temples for the whole village to worship.

So there is another possibility. This pair of statues is not a human statue, but a ghost statue. In other words, the people worshiped by Fengmen Village may be ghosts.

Compared with the apparitions of ancestors, the apparitions of ghosts are often much more reliable.

And Fengmen Village’s unique custom of kissing ghosts also makes the second possibility more believable.

However, these are all rumors in the Feng Shui community. I don’t know why, but Feng Shui masters who go to Fengmen Village can be said to be very rare. To be more precise, there are basically none.

Su Jiu had never heard of any Feng Shui master who had been to Fengmen Village.

Similarly, Feng Shui masters who have been to Fengmen Village remain silent about the place after coming out. (To be continued.)
