Chapter 10 Blood and Sand

The moon is like a noble poet, always hiding in a distant palace, looking at the earth with his unruly eyes. The stars are like countless spectators, either gathering together in twos or threes, or pointing arrogantly.

Pointing. The dark clouds, but always silent, spread the shadow to where it is needed, and then turn around and leave.

Because of the damage to the room, Boom and Rikka moved into the attic. However, the former had no choice but the latter took advantage of the situation. The effectiveness of the master-servant contract was once again highlighted. Boom, who was originally a lone wolf, became more and more indecisive.

As a contracted beast, Rikka is always greedy for the other person's scent.

"Brother, are you asleep? Do you think this black thing is worth three gold coins?" Rikka put her head out of the quilt, and her big watery eyes reflected the silver light.

"How do I know! Do you think I am a child of a family that has been passed down for generations? But this black wooden staff is indeed a treasure. At least when I meditate, I can feel its existence very strongly." Boom raised his eyebrows.

He lit the candle with his hand, stood up, and covered the quilt that Rikka had kicked into pieces again.

"It's so hot! Brother, did you do this on purpose? You just want to drive me out!" Liuhua ignored Boom's obstruction and jumped to the ground with bare feet, chattering non-stop.

The days passed like this, and no one mentioned the damaged room. During this period, Rikka secretly drank half a bottle of ale, but the resentment of vomiting for three days made her frightened. But Boom still stayed there every day.

In the room, there was only that black wooden staff beside me when I was practicing.

Although the supply of two magic crystals per week is pitifully small, it is better than having nothing before. The biggest change during this period is Rikka's cooking skills. Now she can turn ingredients into

Zhenyu. Boom once lamented without hesitation that if his fate hadn't been so unbearable, he wouldn't have practiced any bullshit magic. Being able to eat the delicious food made by Rikka every day was the greatest blessing in life.

As for Rikka, she did not indulge in trivial matters. She would transform in her room every night. Although she did not know the correct training method, her tan skin had spread to her neck. Boom once used steel

The knife has been tested and found that the hardness of any area covered with brown is at least much better than that of an ordinary weapon. The curled edge of the knife is the best proof.

"How about we compete tomorrow? I want to know how many rounds you can last under my hand." After finishing his meditation, Boom slowly opened his eyes. Rikka, who had lost his transformed form, just stretched his body.

"Hehe, if my brother wins, then as compensation, you have to cook dinner for me. If my brother loses, as a punishment, you have to tell me stories to coax me to sleep." Liuhua was stunned at first when he heard this, but then his eyes flashed.

After a hint of cunning, he opened his mouth and replied loudly.

"..." Boom patted the mattress, indicating that he agreed to the other party's proposal. But when he turned over, he felt a little funny, as if any of his decisions would become child's play to the other party. However,

This feeling is really wonderful, being under a roof that can protect you from wind and rain, with your most trusted relatives lying half a meter away, countless food stored in the warehouse, and you are still a magician. What is happiness, maybe it is right now

A whisper in my ears.

The night was long and short. In a small courtyard in the black market, two beating hearts contracted and relaxed. The staff named Black Wood stood quietly beside him, and the steel knife that never left his body was exuding at this moment

The body temperature finally turned into a piece of cold metal.

On the first day of the cold month, black rain fell again. The mercenaries who returned in a hurry cursed the gods, and the nobles who were planning to go out took off their brocade robes, while countless poor people were still doing dirty and heavy work.

Rikka, who got up early, brought soft steamed white bread into the room. The sauce made of minced meat was fragrant, and the half-boiled omelette was brown and soft. Today was the first time the two competed. The black outside the window

Although rain is annoying, it is not an excuse to choose another day.

"If you don't transform, I will kill you. Even if I regret it later, I will never show mercy!" Boom pulled out the steel knife, but his expression was still that cold.

"But...but I don't want to be an enemy of my brother, ah..." Rikka was about to explain something more, but the back of his hand was scratched by Boom who suddenly burst out, and a trace of blood instantly poured out.

.

Boom was very confused at the moment. The cramping feeling was running wildly in his body, almost causing him to kneel in front of the opponent. After being injured, Rikka's forehead once again had magic patterns, and his hands were transformed into short blades.

.

Stab! Rikka's figure disappeared suddenly like a ghost, and reappeared not far behind Boom. The gray linen clothes on his body were broken into two pieces, one was dyed bright red with blood, and the other fell on the ground.

The ground.

"Brother! I..." Seeing this, Rikka hurriedly knelt down beside Boom, tears pouring out like a flood.

Bang! The steel knife in Boom's hand pierced Rikka's clothes, but finally stopped where his heart was, leaving not even a scratch.

"You win. When I wake up, I will cook you dinner!" Boom grinned, forced a smile, and then passed out in the other person's arms. Seeing this, Rikka hurriedly carried Boom back into the house, carefully

The wound was bandaged, and tears wet the sheets at some point.

The so-called competition, but in a blink of an eye, the rising sun has not yet dispelled the fog, and the remaining food is still radiating warmth. But Rikka seemed to be at the end of the world, sometimes testing Boom's breath with her hands, sometimes bursting into tears.

, I regret my lack of depth.

A few hours later, Boom opened his eyes and saw Rikka sleeping standing up, and the wound on her chest was already sewn with twine. The room was quiet, Boom was grinning wildly for no reason, and his voice was a little unbridled.

But more importantly, it is unwillingness to fate.

"Brother, please beat me to death! I don't want to live anymore!" When Rikka saw Boom waking up, her eyes widened in surprise at first, but then she started crying again.

"Huh? My sister is capable, shouldn't my brother be happy? From now on, the task of protecting my brother will be left to you! Also, although this steel knife is not a good thing, it has been with me for many years. Today it belongs to

You're dead!" Boom reached out and stroked Rikka's little head, completely ignoring that the wound burst open again and the blood stained the bed sheets.

"Brother, please stop moving. I promise you anything, even if you live in a trash can for another year! Just lie down and I'll go buy some medicine." Rikka saw Boom's pale face soaked in cold sweat.

With a face on his face, he let go of his hand with some reluctance and hurriedly ran out of the courtyard.

The unpleasant smell wafted in the room. Rikka was like an overseer, staring at the medicine bowl in Boom's hand. Her expression relaxed as Boom swallowed, but became tense as she retched. The darkness outside the window

The rain is still raging in the world, extinguishing the hopes of countless poor people, disrupting the dinner parties of the nobles, and sending blood into the sand.

Applying the medicine is not scary, but the scary thing is the pain when cleaning the wound. The tiny grains of sand are disconnected from the skin, and the blood scab wraps them, and they hinder all new life.

"I didn't expect you to be so powerful, but in the royal city, you still have to be careful. I'm not as good as you, so you don't have to listen to me." Boom tilted his head and whispered with some self-deprecation.

"Are you annoyed? Again, don't ask me to repeat the same answer again. This time it's your fault and mine. Just lie down!" Rikka returned all the words Boom had said a few days ago, and finally returned the message.

Don’t forget to glare at the other person.

"Is this the communication between relatives? It's really unbearable." Boom slowly closed his eyes, but his left hand was still held by Rikka until the dead of night and until dawn again.
