Chapter 163 Burning Scrolls

It was night, and Boom did not practice any more. Instead, he and Rikka sat by the fire, grilling meat skewers and chatting about irrelevant topics.

Boom wanted to take a look into the dimensional space inside the opponent's belly, because he was still worried about the mysterious appearance of the opponent.

But Rikka covered her forehead to prevent Boom's palm from touching the petal magic pattern. The sound of chasing and laughter echoed in the Wonder House. Although it was still cold outside, the house was full of warmth and joy.

"Brother, the new secret monthly magazine should be published. When can we return to Ogu City." Rikka leaned against the wall and asked in a low voice.

"What? Don't you like living in the city? Why do you always want to go back?" Boom handed the other person a piece of beef intestine and asked with a smile.

"No, I'm not afraid of being discovered in the secret passage under the wooden house. I'm just thinking about my brother." Rikka chewed her food and replied vaguely.

Boom shook his head. It was not that he had never thought about this problem. But now it was the New Year, and it was a freezing cold month. No one would choose to explore the wooden house at this time.

Moreover, even if someone discovers it, the excuse is very simple. The small courtyard opposite was bought, and the devil knows why there is a secret passage underground.

He and Rikka did not kill anyone, and they did not violate any imperial laws. Even if the city guard came in person, they could not be convicted like this.

"How about we go for a walk? Or stroll around?" Boom suggested.

"Forget it, brother, are you stupid for practicing? I'm not afraid of the cold, but as a human, aren't you afraid of freezing to death?" Rikka curled her lips and then half-lyed on the bed.

Time passed slowly, and Rikka was still hanging around Boom, sometimes poking here with a quill, and sometimes imitating Boom's example and sketching the magic circle.

Boom has no objection to this, because in his eyes, Rikka is his only relative. And naturally, he will never hide these secrets from his relatives.

Therefore, Rikka is now holding Boom's black wooden staff in his left hand and holding a piece of paper in his right hand. What is written on the paper is the spell of the defensive circle.

"The cicada hums, its thin wings quiver, the timid little life, the long-cherished wish to avoid all harm, in my name, defend the magic circle!" Rikka recited the incantation "solemnly" and waved the staff in a serious manner.
Quiet! It's quiet in the Wonder House! Boom doesn't even bother to raise his head. Compared to Rikka's nonsense, he cares more about the fragrant barbecue.

Rikka's "serious" state only lasted less than five minutes. Then she yelled fiercely, making Boom laugh.

Rikka stared at Boom angrily. In her eyes, he was no longer the gentle and good brother. He was clearly no different from those hateful nobles.

"Smile, it must be the problem with this staff. Believe it or not, I will throw it into the fire." Rikka balled up the paper with the spell written on it, waved and threw it towards Boom.

"Everyone has their own strengths. I don't have your tan skin that is immune to everything, and you don't have the talent to be a magician. It's fair." Boom replied with a smile.

"No matter what! I must make a noise today. Brother, give me your parchment." Liuhua kicked Boom with her feet and shouted in a very rogue manner.

"Okay, okay, I'm really scared of you, but don't break this thing." Boom took out the parchment roll from the storage bag and handed it to Rikka.

However, just when he was about to let go, a strange scene suddenly appeared. The two of them were so confused that they finally froze on the spot.

I saw that the parchment scroll was floating in the air at the moment, and its surface was constantly emitting wisps of fluorescence, staring at the two of them as if it were alive.

Boom and Rikka leaned against each other, and he poked each other's waist with his hand, while Rikka understood and secretly put the black wooden staff into Boom's hand.

As for Rikka, she also quietly transformed her hands into short blades, and her skin gradually changed from pink to tan. The two of them entered a fighting state, waiting for the upcoming enemy.

A minute passed, and the parchment still looked the same. Although it was very strange, it didn't seem to mean harming the two of them.

Five minutes passed. Boom and Rikka quietly retreated to the edge of the tent, even using the stove as a cover. Their eyes never left each other from the beginning to the end.

Ten minutes passed, and Boom still stood still, while Rikka sat on the stool, eating barbecue and drinking milk.

Twenty minutes passed, and Boom frowned and remained silent. As for Rikka, she had already returned to bed and even started reading a novel.

"Brother, what should we do now? How about letting it float? I'm sleepy and want to sleep." Rikka yawned and asked boredly.

"What the hell is going on? Hey, I have no idea now. If it doesn't work, just give up on this thing." Boom replied with a wry smile.

"How can that work? This is the only thing that my brother can use to learn space magic, and people always feel that those fluorescent lights are kind of friendly, as if... they are just like coming from my brother."

After saying this, Rikka suddenly jumped up from the bed, and before Boom could say anything to stop her, she pulled down the parchment.

The defensive formation that Boom was about to blurt out came to an abrupt end because Rikka did not suffer any damage, but instead walked towards him with a smile.

"Hey! Let me just say, a woman's sixth sense is very accurate. This thing is not dangerous at all." Rikka reached out and handed the parchment to Boom.

A moment later, the two sat on the ground. Sometimes Boom instilled the magic power, and sometimes Rikka took a few bites with his mouth. But they both ended in failure, or the other party did not respond at all.

Seeing this, Boom shook his head helplessly and wanted to put it into his storage bag first. But Rikka's eyes lit up and she thought of something.

"Brother, do you think this thing looks like me?" Rikka asked.

"No, at least it's not as annoying as you." Boom replied.

"Brother Stinky, does it look like a contracted beast that doesn't recognize its owner? Why don't you try it with your own blood?" Rikka punched Boom and said again.

Boom heard the words and was paused, then suddenly realized. He cut his index finger lightly and threw a drop of blood towards the parchment.

The vision happened again. After absorbing Boom's blood, the parchment suddenly burst into a burst of dazzling light, but then disappeared in an instant.

But when the two regained their sight, what they saw was a slender leather rope. Boom's mind turned, and the object sometimes returned to the shape of a parchment roll, and sometimes turned into the thin rope.

"Hehe, it's so fun." Rikka swung the leather rope and kept jumping.

"Yeah, I didn't expect someone to be so cautious. Now I don't have to worry about being discovered." Boom replied with a smile.

After playing with it for a while, Rikka reluctantly returned it to Boom. She knew how important this thing was to Boom, so naturally she would not keep it for herself.

But Boom grabbed Rikka who was about to sleep, and then used this leather rope to tie her hair tightly.

"Brother..." Rikka's eyes turned red and she didn't know what to say.

"Happy New Year, just think of this as a gift for you, but you have to lend it to me to look at occasionally." Boom said softly.

That night, Boom slept soundly, even snoring a little bit. Rikka covered her head with a quilt, her face full of sweetness.
