Chapter 12: Qin Keqing’s affair

Jia Lian didn't want to go, but he didn't want to lose his etiquette, so he went out to see it in person. Sure enough, he saw an oil-walled car parked outside the door. Although it was not luxurious, it was packed very neatly and cleanly.

Standing next to the car was an old man in his sixties with a square face. Although his hair was gray, his face was rosy. He was dressed like a domestic servant, with ordinary clothes but very neat and clean.

As soon as he saw Jia Lian coming out, the old servant came up first and gave him a salute.

Jia Lian smiled slightly: "Jia Lian, I am grateful to Mr. Shi for your kindness, but..."

The old servant pointed to his ears, waved his hands, pointed to his mouth, waved his hands, and then respectfully made a "please get in the car" gesture.

Jia Lian understood, this deaf and mute disabled person.

Hey! Mr. Shi is also a weirdo. He sent someone to invite me, and even sent someone who can’t hear or speak. Isn’t this artificially creating a communication barrier?

But as smart as Jia Lian, he figured out Mr. Shi's intention in a blink of an eye - either Mr. Shi only had such deaf and mute servants around him; or, he deliberately sent a deaf and mute servant to make himself

Cannot refuse to go.

Taking advantage of the wine excitement, Jia Lian immediately changed his mind and ordered Qu Siping to pick out two jars of the newly made wine and take them with him. Then without saying much, he jumped into the car sent by Mr. Shi.

Ke Qing stepped forward and asked Jia Lian in a low voice:

"Do you want someone to follow you?"

Jia Lian waved his hand:

"Don't worry, I know what I know."

.

The dusk clouds are gathering, the sky is getting darker, and the setting sun is like blood, illuminating a golden patch at the end of the sky.

The Youbixuan car carried Jia Lian along a small road, winding all the way to the west, as if he was going to walk into the golden light.

The golden light dissipates suddenly, and the sunset lasts only a moment.

Only then did Jia Lian discover that the carriage had reached a valley.

Although the mountains on both sides are gentle, there are twists and turns in the valley. After bypassing the fourth hill, the Youbixuan car stopped next to a dense pine forest, with huge boulders faintly visible in the forest.

The old servant silently asked Jia Lian to get out of the car. Jia Lian pointed to the wine jar in the car. The old servant pointed to his nose with his finger and nodded to Jia Lian.

Jia Lian understood that this was what he meant, so he nodded and smiled, followed the direction pointed out by the old servant, and walked into the pine forest along a looming mossy gravel path.

The pine forest is full of vigorous and tall pines with overgrown branches. The dusk wind rises suddenly, bringing with it the fragrant and slightly bitter smell of rosin. When walking among them, one feels quite cold and out of the dust.

Suddenly he saw huge rocks scattered in front of him, and faintly heard the sound of gurgling mountain springs. Jia Lian, who was full of wine, smiled and said: "The bright moon shines among the pines, and the clear spring rocks flow up. It is such an elegant place."

The clear blue stream meandered between the boulders. I went up the stream and turned around several boulders. I finally saw a small courtyard with green tiles deep in the pine forest.

Just as Jia Lian walked to the door, the courtyard door quietly opened, and another servant in his sixties walked out, making a respectful gesture to Jia Lian to come in.

As soon as he entered the courtyard, he saw Mr. Shi standing at the door of the house and bowed his hands towards Jia Lian:

"Labour Master Jia has been running all the way."

At this time, he had changed into a moon-white satin robe, and only the collar and cuffs were embroidered with delicate cloud and thunder patterns using twisted beads of silver thread, making the character look even more cold and earthy.

Jia Lian also bowed his hand:

"It's a worthwhile trip to see Mr. Shi's elegant residence."

Jia Lian followed Mr. Shi into the house and was stunned again.

The simplicity of the house was simply beyond Jia Lian's imagination.

The underground floor is made of blue bricks, with white walls all around and doors and windows made of pine boards. There is no ceiling on top, just exposed pine beams and purlins. There is only a cursive calligraphy hanging on the middle wall, and it is just pasted on the white wall.

No need to frame it. There are two words in total, and Jia Lian doesn’t recognize any of them.

There are no tables or chairs in the room. There is only an earthen platform about two feet high and one foot square with straw mats on it, which can probably accommodate people.

Good guy, modern people who decorate in a minimalist style are rich people. The ancients practiced minimalist style in this way, probably because they were poor? Anyway, the abbot's room of the old monk is probably more luxurious than this.

Mr. Shi asked Jia Lian to sit down on the straw mat. Jia Lian thought to himself: There is no distinction between superior and inferior here, so don't be polite and give in. It will save everyone trouble.

So I went up and sat down generously, and then I discovered that the earthen platform turned out to be an earthen kang, and it was actually warm underneath.

Mr. Shi also sat down, and two white-headed old servants brought in a small kang table. There were plain white bowls and plates on the table, and they were all vegetarian dishes.

Damn! I really entered the monk’s abbot’s room this time!

At this time, the old servant who picked up Jia Lian came in with a wine jar. It was the new wine that Jia Lian had brought.

Jia Lian was not polite and stepped forward to take it himself. He opened the bottle of wine several times and an intoxicating aroma suddenly filled the room.

Jia Lian smiled and said:

"I have some good wine, please get drunk."

He took the plain white wine cup in front of Mr. Shi, filled it up, and then filled the wine cup in front of himself:

"To be honest, Mr. Shi, I had already eaten half a jar before coming here. This wine is really good.

Come, come, come, have a taste of my good wine, so that your life will not be wasted."

Mr. Shi reached out and held down the wine cup in front of him.

Only then did Jia Lian realize that his hands were so white that they were almost the same as a plain white wine cup.

Could it be that——he doesn’t drink?

Jia Lian was stunned when he saw Mr. Shi take out a small bronze flute from his sleeve, put it in his mouth and blew a few times.

Not long after, the two white-headed old servants who brought the table in before brought in a bronze charcoal stove with a blazing charcoal fire. Then, a large bronze plate was brought in, with several extremely delicious large pieces in it.

Venison.

"Since Mr. Jia has good wine, then I have good venison. Let's eat fish and drink around the fire. Isn't it wrong for you, a good bar?"

"Okay! Okay! It's a true celebrity. I won't come home until I get drunk tonight!"

Jia Lian was in high spirits and took the initiative to cut the meat and barbecue it with his own hands without waiting for anyone to give in.

Mr. Shi was infected by his drunkenness, and he did not hesitate to give in. The two drank and meat, and their spirits were high. Before long, they were calling each other "Brother Shi" and "Brother Jia".

While drinking and drinking, Mr. Shi talked about the customs and past events of Gusu. Jia Lian happened to have been to Gusu too. The two chatted happily until the moon set outside the window and they could smell the waves of pine trees and the sound of streams in the distance.

There was a faint sound, and the two drunken people casually fell down on the table and fell into a deep sleep.

.

When Jia Lian sobered up, it was already three o'clock in the morning.

The room was already empty. Not to mention the messy cups and plates, even the cursive calligraphy on the wall was missing. Not to mention Mr. Shi, who was chatting over wine last night.

Jia Lian walked out of the room and saw a white-headed old servant standing at the door of the courtyard. It was the same one who picked him up last night.

As soon as the old servant saw Jia Lian coming out, he came up to greet him. Seeing that Jia Lian was confused, the old servant respectfully made a gesture to invite him to leave the hospital.

Only then did Jia Lian realize that Mr. Shi had already left, leaving only this old servant to take him back to Shaoguo.

Sure enough, the old servant led him to the place where he got off yesterday, where the Youbixuan car was already waiting. Jia Lian got on the car, and the old servant drove Jia Lian back the same way.

.

Jia Lian returned to Fushui to cook pots and asked Qu Siping if there was a Mr. Shi nearby. Qu Siping shook his head:

"The richest person around here is the head of the Xiang family. I haven't heard of any other Mr. Shi."

Jia Lian was puzzled, but Ke Qing covered her mouth and smiled softly:

"Could it be that Second Master Lian met the Fox Fairy?"

Jia Lian vaguely felt that Mr. Shi was a noble person in the court, so he pointed at the jade lion that shines on the head of the trough outside:

"The more fox fairies who can give me treasures, the better."

Qu Siping grabbed Jia Lian:

"I couldn't entertain Mr. Lian well last night. I'm not allowed to leave today. We've prepared food and wine here."

Jia Lian thought for a while and agreed.

You might as well set off early tomorrow and ride the Zhaoye Jade Lion directly to the General Training Field to show off, and your hard work in the horse racing yesterday will not be in vain.

(Master Shi: Slandering me as a fox fairy? How brave are you, the author?

You still want me to ask for your collection, recommendation, and support?)
