Just as Xuanmen's great supernatural power was preparing for the Western Expedition, in the chaos outside the sky, the Two Sacred Hearts of the West sensed it and hurriedly walked out of the Buddhist realm and rushed back to the Three Realms to rescue Buddhism.
However, before the two of them could set off, four extraordinary figures escaped from the distance and floated towards them. The people who came were none other than the Four Saints of Xuanmen, Sanqing and Nuwa.
The Four Saints, headed by Saint Taiqing, suddenly appeared in front of the Two Saints of the West and blocked their way.
I saw Saint Taiqing sweeping away the dust, making a bow, smiling and saying to the two saints of the West: "Two fellow Taoists, where are you going?"
Where are we going? Can you not be clear about where we are going? Are you sure you are not deliberately being disgusting by asking questions knowingly?
Although he really wanted to punch Saint Taiqing's old face hard, Saint Zhunti also knew that he was far from his opponent. If he attacked rashly, he would only be humiliating himself.
Forcibly suppressing the anger in his heart, Saint Zhunti forced a smile and said:
"It's not a big deal. There is some trouble in our Buddhist sect. The disciples have different ideas. The monk and the senior brother plan to go down and watch, lest they break out into conflicts and ruin the friendship between fellow disciples."
The words of the sage are intended to characterize the changes in Buddhism as internal strife in Buddhism. In this way, no matter what the fuss is, it is Buddhism's own business and has nothing to do with outsiders.
At the same time, Xuanmen also lost the reason to intervene in Buddhism.
However, although Saint Zhunti's plan was good, how could the Four Saints of Xuanmen let him get his way?
I heard Saint Taiqing say with a smile: "You two Taoists, please don't hold on. Such a big change has happened in Buddhism. Although it is a bit unexpected, you two Taoists still have to learn to accept the reality and don't act out of emotion."
What happened? What happened to Buddhism? Why didn’t I know?
After hearing the words of Saint Taiqing, Saint Zhunti had a bad premonition in his heart.
Then, before he could speak, Saint Taiqing continued: "Mt. Xumi is originally the ancestral home of the Demon Sect. It is an extremely risky thing for the two Taoist friends to leave the Taoism there."
"Now that Lingshan Mountain has been captured by demons, it seems unbelievable, but if you think about it carefully, it is not completely unreasonable."
"The Demon Sect has occupied Mount Sumeru for countless years. Who knows how many methods they have left on the mountain? When the two Taoist friends are here, you can suppress them, and you can keep Lingshan intact."
"But after the two fellow Taoists left, Lingshan lost your suppression. How could the young people like Duobao be the opponents of the higher-ups of the Demon Sect? It is normal to be plotted by them and fall into reincarnation."
As soon as Saint Taiqing said these words, even the city of the Second Saint of the West couldn't help but stare at him with wide eyes and a look of shock on his face.
It seems that I can’t believe that these words came from the mouth of the Taiqing Saint. Listen, are these words human?
This is patching up Jiang Chen's words.
Jiang Chen only said that Lingshan was conquered by demons and all the Buddhas fell one after another. But he did not say where the demons came from and how they conquered Lingshan.
But Saint Taiqing, on the other hand, immediately made the lie come true. The one who broke through Lingshan was none other than the mortal enemy of Buddhism, the remnants of the Demonic Sect.
Lingshan is very strong, but the Demon Sect is not weak either. Not to mention that Lingshan is the ancestral court of the Demon Sect. The Demon Sect took advantage of Buddha and others' unpreparedness to capture Lingshan and take back the ancestral home. It sounds so reasonable!
If they didn't know the truth, the two sages of the West would really believe it. However, it doesn't matter if they don't believe it. Anyway, the four sages of Xuanmen opposite do.
hiss……
Taking a breath of air-conditioning, the Second Saint of the West still looked at Saint Taiqing in disbelief.
Tathagata and others died like this? How come we didn’t know?
"Brother Taoist, there may be some misunderstanding here." He opened his mouth and asked what Saint Zhunti wanted to explain. But before he could finish his sentence, Saint Taiqing interrupted him:
"Alas, it is understandable that fellow Taoists find it difficult to accept the death of Duobao. When I first heard the news, Pindao was also very heartbroken."
"It was Pindao who brought Duobao to the West. His original intention was to find a great opportunity for him. But I never thought that it would actually cost him his life."
"Oh, if I had known this, Pindao would have left him in Xuanmen. It is Pindao who is sorry for Duobao!"
When he said these words, the sadness on Saint Taiqing's face seemed real, with no sign of disguise at all.
What was different from the sadness of Saint Taiqing was that opposite him, Saint Zhunti had turned red with anger at his shamelessness.
Did Saint Taiqing curse Duobao to die? Of course not. He deliberately said that Duobao had fallen, and planned to take advantage of this opportunity to let Duobao fake his death and return to Xuanmen.
The problem can be seen from his title. Calling Tathagata Duobao instead of Tathagata is obvious. Isn't it clear that Duobao is still regarded as a member of Xuanmen?
Sage Taiqing had a good idea, but Sage Zhunti would never let him get his wish.
Duobao is not only the leader of Buddhism and the Supreme Lord of Ten Thousand Buddhas, but also the strongest person among the Buddhist saints, a rare quasi-sage Dzogchen level powerhouse in the world.
The Second Sage of the West gave up his position as the leader and handed over all the honors and powers of Buddhism to Tathagata Buddha, which made him the most powerful person he is today.
After paying such a high price to cultivate a peerless master, Taiqing Sage wants to bring people back to Xuanmen with just one word. How is this possible?
I want Buddhism to make wedding clothes for Taoism, a dream!
Taking a deep breath, Saint Zhunti forced himself to calm down and said coldly to Saint Taiqing:
"Taoist brother Taiqing, don't say any more. No matter what happens to Lingshan, it is my west's business and has nothing to do with the east. Whether it's a demon or a demon sect, I would like to ask the four Taoist brothers to get out of the way. My senior fellow apprentices will take care of it on their own."
Regardless of what the Taiqing Sage said, this time the Chunti Sage was determined to define this matter as the West's own business, leaving no room for the East to interfere.
The division between East and West is not that of the West, but of the East. Taoism has always maintained that things in the East have nothing to do with the West. Likewise, the East has no right to interfere in things in the West.
Sage Zhunti used the words Sanqing had said to silence Sanqing, in order to force them to stop interfering in Lingshan affairs.
But how could Saint Taiqing let him hold on to his words? He shook his head and said with a serious look on his face: "Fellow Taoist Zhunti is surprised by this statement. The appearance of the Demon Sect is related to the safety of the entire prehistoric world.
How can we say it is a Western family affair?"
Saint Zhunti wanted to say something else, but Saint Guiyin beside him had no desire to continue. It was obvious that the other party was messing around, and any further talk would be just a waste of time.
He stopped Saint Zhunti who wanted to speak, led the Saint forward, came to Saint Taiqing, slapped him in the face, and said:
"Four Taoist brothers, why do you pretend to be confused while pretending to understand? What is your purpose? The poor monk does not know, nor does he want to know. The poor monk only knows that Buddhism cannot be chaotic, nor can it be destroyed."
"Whoever disturbs Buddhism is disturbing the foundation of the poor monks and junior disciples. We will fight tooth and nail."
Compared with the Zhunti Saint, it is much more straightforward to lead the Saint. He doesn't care why the Four Saints of Taoism come, he only knows that Buddhism cannot be destroyed, otherwise, he will fight for his life.
He will fight with anyone who wants to destroy Buddhism.
Sure enough, words are powerless, attitude is the key. As soon as the attitude of leading the saint to death was revealed, the Taiqing saint immediately stopped talking.
The atmosphere suddenly became tense.
After a long time, Saint Taiqing finally broke the deadlock: "It's serious to lead fellow Taoists. No one wants to destroy Buddhism, but now Lingshan has been invaded by demons, and Xiniu Hezhou has become a demonic land."
"My Taoist friends in Xuanmen could not see the common people suffering, so we accepted the invitation of the mighty and virtuous King Buddha and went to Xiniu Hezhou to help him eliminate demons."
The Taiqing saints were not afraid of the threat of inviting saints, because the Taoist disciples did not go to the West voluntarily, but were invited by Buddhists.
The people in Xiniu Hezhou were living in dire straits under the rule of Buddhism. Their life was so miserable that even the Buddhists themselves could not stand it anymore, so they decided to risk the disapproval of the world and invite Taoism to come and save people.
No matter how you look at it, this is all Buddhism's own fault, and no one else is to blame.
As soon as Saint Taiqing said this, the two Western Saints suddenly became embarrassed. In recent years, the behavior of Buddhism is indeed a bit ugly. In order to grow stronger, not for good or bad, as long as they are willing to join Buddhism, then they will all be accepted.
As a result, Buddhism is a mixed bag of fish and dragons, and the number of bad people gradually outnumbers the good people, which makes Xiniu Hezhou become such a smoky mess.
It should be noted that when the Second Sage of the West was still there, the West was called the Pure Land of Paradise. Although the resources were a little less, everyone's life was pretty good. All races lived in harmony and would not worry about being suddenly eaten by monsters.
The two sages in the West followed the good and the good and knew that Buddhism was indeed wrong. There was no way to explain this, so they directly admitted their mistakes:
"Indeed, we have neglected the discipline of Buddhism in recent years, so many people have forgotten our Buddhist teachings. Fortunately, the mighty King Buddha came to the world and set things right in time to prevent our Buddhism from making big mistakes."
After admitting his mistake, the saint continued: "The Buddhas lost their virtue, caused all sentient beings to suffer, and caused endless injustice. This calamity, falling into reincarnation and suffering, is all their retribution. No one else can blame them."
"However, if the Buddhas made mistakes, why should the disciples be held responsible? They were simply deceived by demons."
"Although they are guilty, their crimes will not lead to death. A small punishment or a large warning will be enough. Let them remain useful and atone for the mistakes they have committed."
"There are also Buddhist scriptures. Although fellow Taoist Taoists are profound in Taoism, they may not be proficient in Buddhist principles. They don't have to worry about distinguishing true scriptures from false ones. My junior brother and I spent some time, and we can still distinguish the true scriptures from the false ones.
.”
Faced with the powerful Four Saints of Xuanmen, Saint Jieyin finally gave in. The Buddhas in Lingshan and Xuanmen could be killed as much as they wanted, as an apology to the suffering Western beings.
However, the Buddhas in Lingshan can be killed, but the Buddhist disciples cannot touch them, and the Buddhist scriptures cannot be changed by Taoism.
This is the bottom line for attracting saints. If Xuanmen continues to push further, don't blame him for choosing to die together.
Saint Taiqing and the other four people sensed the determination to lead the saint, so they seemed a little hesitant, wondering whether they should agree to this.
The death of the Buddhas in Lingshan will indeed have an impact on Buddhism and cause Buddhism to temporarily fall into a period of decline, but it will not shake the foundation of Buddhism.
All Buddhas are immortals in the realm of Daluo Jinxian. Even if they die, they can come back after a few reincarnations. At that time, Buddhism will be able to sweep away its fatigue and return to its peak.
Therefore, just killing the Buddhas in Lingshan Mountain is of little significance. What is important is to obtain the right to interpret Buddhist scriptures. Only in this way can the foundation of Buddhism be shaken.
Seeing that they had all given in, the four of them were still hesitating. The leading saint couldn't help but feel angry in his heart. A terrifying aura rose up from his body, causing the surrounding chaos to begin to collapse layer by layer.
At this moment, in the depths of the chaos, several indescribable auras came from a distance, locking the saint. In an instant, the aura that was rising on his body suddenly stopped.
The foundation of Xuanmen is so profound. In the ancient times, two Hunyuan Daluo Golden Immortals, Taiyi and Dijun, appeared one after another.
Now that countless years have passed, there is no guarantee that no one will take a step further and achieve the state of Hunyuan Ruyi.
The Two Sages of the West thought that it was the Four Sages who threatened them, but in fact, it was not just the Four Sages who threatened them.
In silence, the atmosphere became increasingly oppressive.
Finally, the Sage of Shangqing spoke up and broke the deadlock.
"When Buddhism is in chaos, the mighty and virtuous King Buddha brings order to the chaos. He has done great service to Buddhism and to the living beings in the West. He should be the master of Buddhism and the Supreme Lord of Ten Thousand Buddhas."
He knew that it was impossible for the two Western sages to hand over the right to interpret Buddhist scriptures, so Xuanmen also took a step back and no longer wanted the right to interpret Buddhist scriptures, and chose to promote Jiang Chen to the supreme position of Buddhism.
Ignore everything else, first arrange for one of your own to be the boss of the Buddhist sect. In this way, it will be much easier to find opportunities to attack the Buddhist sect in the future.
The great practitioners of Taoism only want to destroy Buddhism, but the saints obviously want more. They want to save Buddha as the Tao and bring Buddhism back into the embrace of Taoism.
Buddhism has a lot of luck, so it would be a pity if it was destroyed like this. It would be better to return to Xuanmen. Arranging for Jiang Chen to become the leader of Buddhism is the first step of the Four Saints plan.
Next, the Four Saints will use Jiang Chen's hands to modify Buddhist teachings step by step, reducing them to a vassal of Taoism, and then devour them in one fell swoop.
Knowing that this is the bottom line of Xuanmen, the leading saint nodded and agreed: "Good, the mighty and virtuous king Buddha came to the world in the catastrophe, killed the demons, put an end to the chaos, and then built the Great Thunder Sound Temple, he should be the supreme Buddha of Buddhism.
, is the Lord of the Pure Land."
At this point, the Six Saints reached a consensus that Buddhism will not be destroyed and the journey to the west will continue. However, the death of the Buddhas in Lingshan is inevitable, and Jiang Chen should be the new Buddha of Buddhism.
…
…………
During the Six Saints' discussion, among the three realms, Xuanmen masters had already taken action.
Amidst the loud rumbling sound, a huge void passage appeared in the sky above Xiniu Hezhou, and countless immortal Dao Luo Jinxian walked out of it and killed the demons on the ground.
At the same time, the great masters of Xuanmen also set out, crossed the boundless void, and came to the Lingshan Mountain, silently watching the five supreme Buddhas of Buddhism.
No, it is a demon pretending to be the Five Buddhas of Buddhism.
