Chapter 6 First Contact After Disaster

Andrew Carridge...no, now we have to call him Will Evans.

This somewhat anxious-looking spokesperson is actually not over 30 years old, only about 25 years old.

After Victor learned his true age, he couldn't help but cast pity on him.

This guy is very dedicated to his work. Victor entrusted him with some follow-up matters of the Incense Mansion, including hiring a maid with an annual salary of 80 faraka, and a veteran with an annual salary of 160 faraka to serve as the doorman of the mansion.

.

These later servants all thought that Will was the master of the mansion, and Victor was just his butler.

In the next two days, Will contacted people from the housekeeping company for Victor to come and clean the house.

During this period of contact, Victor still found out from Will why he gave up his job as a telegraph operator.

It's very simple. His chance of promotion was passed up by a certain "connected person".

Will was angry and thought that there would be no room for development in the future, so he made up his mind to resign.

As for why he knows some of the etiquette of nobles, it starts when he was a child.

Will is not a nobleman, but he has inherited the honor of his father. When he was young, he worked as a servant in a noble family, specializing in serving the master's children. In this way, he learned a lot of etiquette of the upper class.

Later, the family went bankrupt and fell into disrepair. My father was their deacon, but was fired by the owner in that accident. He also lost his job, so he took Will from the Western Continent to Secred.

However, crossing the Silent Sea has always been a dangerous thing. The ship encountered a shipwreck and Will's father died. However, he was lucky enough to survive and was rescued to Renekton by a passing large caravan ship.

.

This kind of past is a good thing for Victor. Will is familiar with the etiquette of the upper class and can better conceal his true identity. Victor hopes that he will talk and act like a nobleman.

After two days of busy work, the chores at the mansion have basically been taken care of. Victor plans to go to the Anti-Suppression Department on Baiyin Road tomorrow to investigate, and try to join the job as early as possible to check their internal information.

Returning to the "butler's" bedroom, the furniture inside is complete, all of which were there before.

The "landlord" originally planned to move in by himself, so he purchased a complete set of furniture early, but he didn't even have time to lie down on the sofa until it was covered with a layer of dust.

The new maid has cooperated with the staff of the housekeeping company to clean the entire house in the past two days, and all the facilities are as good as new.

Victor lay on the white and soft bed and took a deep breath.

He calmed down and decided to go to the secret hotel tonight to contact the two friends and see what they were doing.

He was so busy when he first came to Renekton that Victor couldn't spare any time to contact Miss Writer and Mr. Gold Digger.

Especially Miss Writer, Abigail, Victor wants to know what her situation is now.

If the Immortal comes to Greybean, Miss Writer will become an important clue provider for Victor.

Taking a deep breath, Victor entered the familiar woodland.

The surrounding woods are still swaying slightly, the thick fog at the edge is vaguely visible, and the Taoist temple behind is still so dilapidated.

Victor discovered that there were no traces of the wriggling protoplasm on his body in the secret residence. His image generated by "self-awareness" was no different from that of a normal person.

The coyote statue melted into his back does not exist in the secret residence. It seems to only affect Victor's physical body.

Victor entered the Taoist temple and sat on the futon. The yellow coat naturally floated over and rested on his back. There was no need to go to get it. As long as he had a thought in his mind, it came by itself.

This is also a way to summon it that Victor only recently discovered.

Standing up to touch the spiritual tablet on the table, Victor contacted Adolf first.

Adolf is still in the east, but his condition is very bad. He is hiding from the heavy rain under a rotten shack in the wilderness.

The bonfire in front of me was about to be extinguished by the strong wind.

Victor tried calling the other party, and Adolf suddenly raised his head, with a gloomy expression on his face. He seemed to have been waiting for Mr. Yi to contact him for a long time.

Yes, Victor hasn’t had time to give him the incense from the Taoist temple.

……

Under the storm, Adolf picked up all his luggage, ignored the rotten shed, mounted his horse in the storm, and rushed towards a rotten house that was burned dry by fire in the woods behind him.

He opened the door to the basement, which was full of water, but there was a bed in the center, which was probably where he usually slept. It was only because of today's heavy rain that there was water in the basement, so he was forced to run out and build a shed to rest.

However, because of Victor's call, he turned back and temporarily used the bed that had not been flooded by water to enter the secret place by meditating into a dream.

The spiritual tablet glowed, and Victor knew that Adolf had come in, so he clicked his spiritual tablet and pulled Adolf to the door of the Taoist temple.

Before saying hello to the other party, Victor touched Abigail's spiritual card again.

However, the strange thing is that the scene on Abigail's side is blurry. Victor can't see anything, and the picture in front of him is only muddy...

He had a bad idea in his heart, and secretly thought with horror: Could it be that the writer lady had already...

There were footsteps behind him, and Victor knew that it was Adolf who had come in. He did not stop on Abigail's spiritual tablet, but turned around and invited Adolf to sit down.

"Mr. Yi, I finally received your summons..."

After hearing what the other party said, Victor was full of doubts, but after recalling it carefully, he suddenly realized something and said: "Mr. Gold Digger, although you are deep in the storm, you are full of energy and full of demeanor. You must have been there not long ago."

While exploring the ruins, I found what I wanted."

Adolf was stunned for a moment, then shook his head with a wry smile.

"No, that ruins is an illusion, there is no secret transmission of Zoroastrianism in it, but! I discovered a very terrible secret!"

Adolf spoke in a garrulous manner, which was seriously inconsistent with his past performance. Victor was keenly aware that this clue must be very shocking to him.

"So, are you willing to share this secret with me? I mean, exchange information with each other as we did in the past."

"It doesn't matter, I'm not going to use this secret as a bargaining chip in exchange for anything, because it is too terrible, even for you, it is very dangerous!" Adolf said to Victor in a solemn tone.

As soon as these words came out, Victor was stunned.

He knows that in the eyes of the other party, he has always been a mysterious and knowledgable figure, possessing power that the other party cannot fathom.

If this secret can threaten the Knower...

"Oh?" Victor kept his breath and did not express too much shock in his tone, "I haven't felt danger in a long time. Your words make me very curious."

After hearing this, Adolf took a deep breath and controlled his emotions.

He thought deeply, organized the words in his mind, and finally said: "Before talking about this matter, please forgive me for asking, are you really in Missouri? Or any new development in the eastern part of the country?

state."

Victor frowned, his surprised expression concealed by the shadow brought by the yellow clothes.

He conceived a vague answer and said to the other party: "Wherever I should be, that's where I am. Just as I'm in Misu right now, I'll be in Misu."

Adolf raised his face after hearing this. There was awe in his expression, but it disappeared in an instant.

Before that, he suspected that Mr. Yi had been staying in the secret residence for a long time. Otherwise, how could he forget about the secret magic crystal?

He took the initiative to enter Misu and couldn't find the Taoist temple at all. Every time, Mr. Yi had to teleport him to the door of the Taoist temple... It felt like this Taoist temple was Mr. Yi's home.

Could it be that the other party no longer has a real body in the material world?

The pupils in Adolf's eyes tightened, and a terrible thought came to his mind - is Mr. Yi really just a knower?

"Then, please continue your topic. What kind of existence will threaten me?"
