Chapter 15 Tracking

Daniel didn't give up.

Since the last time he encountered cultists in the disaster area, he has been committed to tracking down the whereabouts of those fanatical ghost fires.

In his eyes, the anti-death catalyst that originally grew in the pool must have been transferred by the cultists first.

For this reason, he used the agent's object-finding ability several times to find this batch of goods, but the strange thing was that there seemed to be some magical power that blocked his trial path, causing him to no matter how he tried.

Tracking will result in an incorrect result.

The Secret Agent is the first secret of the Judgment Path. Its ability roughly provides a way to find objects. As long as the Seer who studies can master an object related to the target, he can use this to track the whereabouts of the target.

.

The guy who tracked Mike down with drinks before was a secret prophet of the Judgment Path.

Dardaniel uses the agent's ability to track through the material left behind by the fanatical ghost fire in the pool, but in the end he is always led to the wrong place.

This is very strange, because Dardaniel knows that if it cannot be traced, then he will not be able to use the spy's ability at all, instead of being able to use it, but not being able to find things correctly.

Then, a dangerous idea came to his mind - the secret agent's ability was interfered with by an external force, and the other party's ability was very powerful. It was almost possible to predict when Daniel would use the secret agent's ability.

Could it be one of those cult members?

If this is the case, then this case will become quite difficult.

However, the worry about the unknown did not stop Daniel's pursuit of the truth. If he could not use the invisible technique, he could also use traditional means to conduct searches with the power of the Police Bureau.

Although anti-death items are rare and expensive, with such a large quantity stacked in the hands of one person or organization, it is impossible to consume them all in a short time.

Judging from the bounty amount that was spread in the Jotun underground society not long ago, the other party is likely to sell some of the Zealot Spectrefire through the black market.

Tracking down sales channels is a good place to start.

In recent days, many reports have been delivered to Daniel's office, all of which contain clues about the Frenzy Fire.

Eighty percent of them are false news, and the remaining half have lost clues in subsequent investigations. Only two or three pieces of information are of some value.

Here, there is a report that interests Daniel very much.

The Prosecution Bureau discovered that not long ago, a batch of mysterious goods was sent to a cargo ship from the East Indian Continent.

The other party left the temporary port of Jotun in a swaggering manner and was protected by a number of armored frigates.

Dardaniel was curious about the origin of the other party, and as he continued to look through it, he discovered that the cargo ship had a great origin and was actually a ship of the Rockefeller Ocean Trading Company.

That trading company belongs to the United States of Secred, which was jointly established by numerous capital groups, and has the navigation technology and strength to cross the Silent Sea.

As Greybairn's police bureau, it does not have the authority to investigate that behemoth company. Blind actions will only increase diplomatic risks.

Daniel knew what his country was currently planning and did not dare to make new enemies, so he could only shelve this report.

The second report came from one of his investigators, who discovered a mysterious shop in a dark alley not long ago. The shop seemed to only be open at night, and almost no customers were seen visiting it.

"bookstore?"

Daniel frowned, smelling a hint of conspiracy.

The subordinate guessed that the store must have an ulterior secret, and perhaps it was engaged in illegal business, using the bookstore as a cover.

Even if it had nothing to do with the sales of Frenzy Fire, he still suggested that Daniel should investigate and find out the true nature of that bookstore.

After thinking about this proposal for a moment, Daniel decided to take action.

In order not to alert others, he planned to go there alone to investigate at night, pretending to be a customer buying books.

When he arrived at the alley, he suddenly had a sudden impulse and decided to try his ability again to see if it would work.

Then, something magical happened.

Daniel took out a cigar and smoked it. He used the spy's ability to give the smoke the attribute of guiding, and found that the smoke actually floated into the alley...

Although there is a possibility of being misled again, Dardaniel tonight has a hunch: this time the tracking is correct!

So, he hurriedly followed the smoke and came to the place it pointed out, and that place was exactly the same as the location described by his subordinate in the report.

But the strange thing is that the cigarette drifted towards a white gable wall. There was no shop at all, but a dead end.

Dardaniel was extremely shocked by this. He initially thought it was a problem with his subordinates. After returning to the bureau, he cross-examined the subordinate who wrote the report. The subordinate insisted that the address given was correct.

Thinking of the secret agent's search for a path, Daniel began to guess that maybe that shop was a cover-up for some invisible technique...

The clue was broken again, and he was extremely upset. Finally, he returned to the office and began to study the last report.

This last report was slightly less eye-catching than the previous two. It did not point out any clues about Fanatic Wisp, but mentioned a person - Gadon Hawkins.

This Gaton Hawkins is also not an easy person to deal with, but he is also quite influential. He is the head of the Yorkton Information Agency, and his official position is no less than that of the Director of the Inspection Bureau.

In the past, the Jotun News Agency served as the "mouthpiece" of the royal family, and the content of the newspapers it published was intended to control the direction of public opinion and maintain the royal family's rule over the empire.

But when the empire's industry developed and prospered, and many new aristocratic capitals were born, Greybean's politics gradually became complicated.

The distribution of power has been reshuffled, and successive officials of the General Information Administration have taken office and resigned, all representing their own interest groups, resulting in different public opinion trends in different periods.

Just like now, the press, represented by Gaton Hawkins, has some crazy idea and publishes articles accusing the authorities of persecuting ethnic minorities, in order to incite confrontation between the Bain people and other ethnic groups.

Especially the author whose pen name is the Forest of Nothingness. He has recently written several inflammatory articles, which have severely damaged the unity within the empire. Daniel thought that after the issue of Fanatic Fire is over, he must put this incident on the agenda.

Conduct an investigation.

Let’s talk about Gadon Hawkins himself.

Although he tried his best to hide it, the Police Bureau had actually known for a long time that this guy was a low-key seer.

The reason why I didn't expose him was because of his status and identity.

As long as there is no violation of law or discipline, the Velen Police Bureau will not rashly destroy this balance.

However, not long ago, the Intelligence Bureau discovered that this guy may have reached the threshold and is about to face a fatal threat.

Just in case, the Inspection Bureau has been prepared to deal with the other party becoming obsessed or going crazy with fear.

But the strange thing is that a few days later, Mr. Gatton returned to the General Information Administration as if nothing had happened and started to deal with the work at hand...
