Chapter 18 Steel Burning

Someone summoned the elevator on the 17th floor, and Yu Zhesen followed the ascending elevator to the floor where the accident occurred.

He simply organized his equipment in the elevator room and replaced the martial arts chip card slot under his arm armor with the martial arts chip pre-installed module in his suitcase.

The microcomputer in the armored helmet immediately read the martial arts data in the pre-installed module.

The programs of the six martial arts chips were displayed on the electronic screen in front of Yu Zhesen's pupils.

With a "boom" sound, the elevator trembled and suddenly stopped.

The light and display flashed off at the same time, making it look like the power was suddenly cut off.

Yu Zhesen anticipated that this would happen, and immediately drew out the multi-purpose baton and activated the lightsaber mode.

Relying on a sword with a temperature exceeding 3000 degrees Celsius, Yu Zhesen violently dismantled the skylight of the elevator. The gaps on the four sides of the skylight remained with dazzling red marks left by the high-temperature molten steel.

He climbed out of the skylight lightly and stood on top of the stopped elevator car. The light from the incandescent light blade illuminated the dark elevator shaft.

Relying on the extraordinary movement ability brought by the exoskeleton armor, climbing up the guide rail in the elevator shaft is not a problem, but Yu Zhesen can't figure out which floor he is parked on now.

Just as he was thinking and hesitating, there was another strange noise above his head.

The elevator door on a certain floor above burst open, and flames like heavy clouds poured into the elevator shaft.

Yu Zhesen immediately raised his left arm and activated the B-level martial arts energy-gathering shield.

A translucent hexagonal blue light shield covered his head, blocking the flow of fire rushing down the narrow space of the elevator shaft.

After the flames dissipated, his eyes were firmly fixed on the floor where the elevator door was destroyed.

Yu Zhesen put away his lightsaber and began to climb up the rails on his hands and knees.

After crawling for less than three seconds, he heard Shi Xin's voice again.

"Actually, the armor has a lifting pulley attachment, so you can save some effort."

This time Shixin appeared directly on the microcomputer screen built into his helmet.

"Damn... I was shocked. You came and went without a trace. Who are you?" Yu Zhesen complained but his hands did not stop. He quickly found the ascending pulley accessories near the plastron.
Pulling out the traction rope and pulley device, Yu Zhesen fixed them on the guide rail steel bars of the elevator shaft.

The switch was activated, and the ascending pulley took him quickly close to the elevator door that was burned by high-temperature flames.

At the same time, Shi Xin’s voice continued to enter his mind:

"The other party's ability is an offensive ability belonging to the eighth group, 'Steel Burning'. You have noticed the fire storm that poured into the elevator shaft just now, right? Just the tongues of flame on the outside have the ability to melt tempered iron.

The closer it is to the holder of the power, the higher the temperature of the flame will be."

"The eighth group?" Yu Zhesen asked strangely.

"In my memory, abilities are divided into clear groups. There are nine groups in total, and the eighth group is called 'Destruction', which contains dangerous and easily out-of-control abilities like 'Steel Burning'.

Can."

"Your memory? What did you remember?"

"Very few, I can only remember a little bit. But I can feel that my memory is huge, like a vast ocean... No, maybe more like the infinite starry sky."

"So... you are not the replacement for An He that I imagined?"

Yu Zhesen was a little happy when he came to this conclusion, which meant that he was not a patient in urgent need of mental health medical services.

"Probably not."

The ascending pulley stopped in front of the hole in the elevator door. Yu Zhesen leaned on the pulley rope to swing over, rolled to the ground and entered the corridor on the 17th floor of the inpatient building.

When he stood up, he asked: "So which group does my superpower belong to? What is its scientific name?"

Shi Xin was unexpectedly silent for a long time.

"You don't belong to any of the nine groups, and your powers don't exist in my memory."

"You haven't remembered it yet, have you?" Yu Zhesen teased.

"Absolutely not." Shi Xin said with certainty, "Your superpower may be inextricably related to my existence itself. Although it does not belong to any group I know, there may be an unknown third

It’s possible that ten groups exist.”

"Do you think you might have been a scientist in your previous life? Oh, scientists don't believe in the theory of soul reincarnation." Yu Zhesen said humorously.

"Previous life?" Shi Xin's tone was stunned, and then he said dissatisfiedly: "I don't think I am dead, your life is my life."

"Then you are my guardian spirit? That seems like a good idea."

"It's okay if you want to think so, but don't casually suspect that there is something wrong with your brain in the future, and don't rush to see a psychiatrist again."

Yu Zhesen smiled. He likes opponents, or partners, who are as good as him in his ability to complain.

The power supply has been completely cut off in the inpatient building. There are rows of wards on the north and south sides of the corridor. Only the east and west ends have windows, so the lighting in the entire corridor is not good.

Yu Zhesen re-deployed the lightsaber, raising the sword forward not only to prepare for battle but also to serve as a lighting tool.

He saw charred burn marks on the ground and walls near the elevator door, and the floor a few meters away was almost burned through.

Presumably, the guy with the power gene went berserk and activated a violent steel-burning power at that location not long ago.

The corridor was empty, but there were faint sounds of people in the distance.

The elevator was out of service, and medical staff and patients who had not yet had time to evacuate were either hiding in the ward or stranded in the stairwells at the east and west ends.

The power outage caused greater panic in the already crowded and chaotic stairwell.

Yu Zhesen narrowed the range of the armor's various detection and sensing functions to a radius of five meters around him, and then slowly moved forward along the corridor toward the east stairwell.

He remembered that Jin Jianshen and the bartender took the emergency passage in the east stairwell to go upstairs. They searched eastward to prepare to meet up with them, or if they were lucky, they could attack from both front and rear.

It originally took less than two minutes for Jin Jianshen and the bartender, who were wearing exoskeleton armor "Dark Night Fire", to climb from the second floor to the seventeenth floor. However, Yu Zhesen, who took the elevator and climbed up the elevator shaft halfway, arrived before them.

.

Because they encountered a chaotic flow of people fleeing in the stairwell, the panicked crowd eager to leave the inpatient building did not have the consciousness to make way for these two black-armored rebels.

"According to my prediction, your two teammates may be stuck in a traffic jam halfway. Prioritize searching for the enemy, and don't put too much hope in a combined attack." Shi Xin reminded.

I knew those two guys with unknown origins were unreliable.

Yu Zhesen despised Jin Jianshen and the bartender in his heart.

The detection and sensing device of the exoskeleton armor quickly transmitted information. The thermal imaging scanner showed that there were three living people close together in a ward to the left of Yu Zhisen.

He hung his lightsaber downwards, slowly leaned over and opened the doorknob of the ward with his left hand.

There was only one doctor wearing glasses and two elderly patients in the room.

The moment they saw Yu Zhesen's appearance, the three of them were frightened by the lines and patterns on the silver-white armor that glowed blue.

But after a few seconds, when they realized that the person in front of them was a mecha specialist from the Security Bureau, their faces showed the joy of surviving a desperate situation.

"Is anyone injured here?" Yu Zhesen's voice came through the visor.

The doctor wearing glasses shook his head.

"Please stay here and don't run around. The stairwell is very crowded and chaotic." Yu Zhesen nodded to them, "I will solve the problem as soon as possible."

"That person...may have gone upstairs."

The doctor trembled and took off his glasses, which made his expression look even more worried.

"Did you see it?" Yu Zhesen needed to confirm the reliability of this information.

If the target really goes to a higher floor, he can no longer waste time searching for points on this floor room by room.

"He...he came to see a nurse from our hospital...I saw them arguing, and Xiao Su...she ran upstairs."

Yu Zhesen, who was about to leave, realized that the situation was unusual. The doctor in front of him seemed to know something.

"Please tell me what you know in as much detail as possible." He asked the doctor.
